Ease of use. Good user experience and interface. I have never had an issue or needed to contact customer support, despite using 9 Smartsheets on a daily basis with a lot of automation.

Would be great if the dashboards were enhanced - currently they're quite basic (as standard) and can take some time to build into something fit-for-purpose.

Used mostly for specific task status. Also used for asset development, approvals and supply to external agencies.
A good alternative to Excel or Google Sheets.

Powerful but complex
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has proven to be an invaluable tool in my role, primarily due to its robust data representation capabilities and its customizability. I use it every day. The platform's ability to display data in various formats—whether it's a grid, Gantt chart, calendar, or card view—offers the flexibility needed to manage complex projects and multiple campaigns simultaneously. This versatility is particularly useful in a fast-paced marketing environment, where different team members might need to visualize data in different ways to meet their specific needs.
Moreover, the customizability of Smartsheet allows us to tailor the platform to our specific processes. We can build dashboards, set up automated workflows, and create templates that align with our project management methodologies. This level of customization helps in maintaining consistency across the team while also allowing for the necessary adjustments that come with the dynamic nature of marketing programs.

What do you dislike about the product?
However, the platform isn't without its challenges. While Smartsheet is powerful, this very strength can also be a drawback. The flexibility and range of options can make the learning curve quite steep, especially for team members who are less experienced with such tools. Certain views, for instance, aren't as easily altered as one might hope, which can lead to frustration when trying to adjust layouts or settings to better fit specific use cases. I wish I could integrate other tools into it (like iFrames on dashboards etc).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex project management - streamlines by offering flexible views
Cross-team collaboration - centralized platform that lets team members see as much or as little as they need
Automation - saves time by automating tasks

Powerful alternative for spreadsheets enthusiasts.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a genuine game-changer in the way we manage and share information in our team. We started using Smartsheet leaving behind the old Excel system. The initial learning curve was steep, but once we got over that difficulty, it become by favorite tool. I am particularly fond of how Smartsheet centralizes our data. For example, we recently used Smartsheet to manage a high-stakes client pitch. Instead of going through a bunch of different Excel documents and long email threads, we had everything organized and tidy in Smartsheet - updates were monitored in real time, and automated reminders were sending us to a particular worksheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
One significant problem was the formula limitations compared to Excel. Some team members, who are used to the more complex functions of Excel, had difficulty with Smartsheet-like formulas at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet simplifies teamwork by getting rid of the operational difficulties to manage several projects. The capability of creating charts, setting reminders, and automating notifications is a big ticket to an amount of time and effort the company saved us. Improved efficiency and organization have significantly grown in our team with that resource; it is a means of project management that we value greatly.
A great platform with infinite possibilities!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has great core functionality, but the advanced offerings really take it above and beyond. Once you get to learn the system, it's very easy to create solutions to fit even the most complex of business needs. The solutions that my team and I create with these tools streamline previously existing tools into one easy-to-use app that can be distributed through a simple link. Smartsheet offers a variety of tools that make it extremely easy for end users to operate with minimal training. I use Smartsheet nearly every day and I have been able to simplify just about every process in my department. When I have run into issues, our account team and support resources have been incredibly responsive and helpful. Smartsheet has been very easy to implement as the standard for forms and data collection for many departments across the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
As much as I love the advanced offerings of Smartsheet, there are a few aspects of the core product that are somewhat limited. Granted, these do not significantly take away from necessary functionality. I would love the ability to use custom colors in sheets instead of a pre-selected palette, especially when other color pickers, such as the one for dashboards, let you use a hex code to select any color. I would also like to see more integrations across the advanced tools and more documentation/guidelines for Bridge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows us to solve the problem of "too many cooks in the kitchen" when it comes to streamlining our project management workflows. With Smartsheet, we were able to create a system that allows departments to build worklists tailored exactly to their unique needs. From here, we created a system that takes core information from one worklist and populates it into other worklists as desired. This system has been infinitely useful in helping to give departmental users *exactly* what they want with very few compromises. With such a high degree of customization, this makes the systems that much more user-friendly and imcreases users' willingness to adopt the new system.
Easy to use the basics!
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and set up. I use it regularly to be able to send timelines to clients. The number of features is endless but for the more experienced user. There is a large libary of training videos and templates to use and it's easy to intergrate google docs etc. Customer support were helpful when we first set things up
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a dislike as such but it can be overwhelming when you start looking at the templates and worksflows on your own!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The project management tool we use doesn't have a very user friendly timeline output so we use smartsheet for this.
Easy and intuitive tool for team coordination
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is intuitive and really easy to use. It's especially helpful for coordinating and cooperating in a team. It's also a perfect tool to be used as a check-list for recurring tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really anything I dislike. It has all functions we need in our organisation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps for team members to coordinate and work together.
Smartsheet the best Excel
What do you like best about the product?
I like the most about smartsheet that its easier to work with then excel. Specially the work together online version is perfect. As a admin its easy to remove access to smartsheet. If there is a offboarding of course.
What do you dislike about the product?
That some excel fields cant be imported, some formulares are not working
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its easy to use and you can share the sheets without uploading the spreadsheet and then share the document.
Powerful tool to work with in teams
What do you like best about the product?
It´s a powerful online tool with a lot of functionalities to collaborate with the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working with forms to fill a sheet, it´s not possible to change any words in the autofilled cells, coming from the form.
Further some format/ layout issues, which alows for better overview are not available we saw in Excel before (e.g. highlighting header lines in forms by using bolt text or underlineing them).
Finally it would be very useful to have the option to pre-select columns, which later shall be used to be printed in reports to avoid always hide/ unhide those columns manually by different parties.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily share information with the team and comment on any issues.
