Good for particular needs
What do you like best about the product?
The workflow templates really set Smartsheet apart from similar products, like Google Sheets. The descriptions of each template are helpful/written in laymen terms, and I usually have no problem selecting a template for what I'm trying to accomplish. The set up is intuitive for automating specific functions I need the sheet to do, too. I'm not aware of any similar products that even come close to offering this level of service. I use Smartsheet heavily at least once a week for work (.com and .gov sheets).
What do you dislike about the product?
The price of the .gov licenses are very expensive. Second, the interface is sometimes frustrating to use, I feel it could be a little bit more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes visualizing ideas and collaborating with other users very easy. The security of the data is another huge benefit.
Good solution with lots of functionality. Still needs a few additional capabilities to be great.
What do you like best about the product?
Centralized solution, easy to access from multiple sources. Easy to share documents, forms, and dashboards. Lots of training materials available and experts available to help. Ability to include dashboards on sharepoint sites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still lacking some functionality for project management like ability to force an end date, or utilize buffers for critical chain execution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized project management, and ability to view portfolio of multiple projects. Resource planning and management. Visibility of project progress to the entire team.
I enjoy using Smartsheet to keep track of schedules, create reports, templates and using automation.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how using automation you can create and manipulate your information to get the results needed. I really like that you can say if it equals this send this email.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how you can't adjust/delete certain columns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps keep our projects on track. It helps our resources keep track of their schedule and everything that needs to be done in a project.
Smartsheet is a versatile project management and organizational collaboration tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows extensive customization, which means you can use it for various project management needs. You can view projects in various different ways, based on your experience or preference. It's suitable for Agile, Waterfall, Kanban methodologies. It offers very robust collaboration features, including content management and sharing capabilities. Analytics is another feature that differentiates Smartsheet, useful for tracking progress and performance. One of my favorite features is the mobile accessibility...being able to utilize Smartsheet on my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve as the interface can be complex and requires time to master. This is also an expensive solution compared to other project management tools...especially if you need advanced features. It's also an ala carte' application where if you want time-tracking and resource management, these are additional add-ons. As with most complex applications, it can hard to navigate due to the extensive features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is improving our organizational efficiency by automating tasks and providing clear project visibility. The teams work more efficiently and are always on the same page. We are able to customize our workflows to meet specific needs between teams who are using different project methodologies.
Very Decent Software That I’ve Been Able to Accomplish a Lot With
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to sync information between sheets using data mesh and/or index/match has proven invaluable. Many of the automatins are also seamless and powerful. Calendar App is excellent for scheduling - a very powerful tool. Connecting to Power Bi is also great. All-in-all, Smartsheet has become a cornerstone of operations in my department.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times I find that Smartsheet is missing simple features that I feel should intuitively be there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing and synchronizing information that needs to be harmonious and available to multiple stakeholders. Being able to have one user make a change on one sheet and that change synchronizing with other sheets and triggering automations.
The overall experience of SmartSheet is fluid and user friendly.
What do you like best about the product?
The best features of SmartSheet I believe are the so many different kinds of data manipulation tools they offer. The other feature I think is the most useful is the smartsheet connectors where you can connect information and have it flow from smartsheet to smartsheet. The customer support is very responsive and they are very quick with solving issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some small UI bugs I have experienced that are rather annoying. For example, to consistently see the horizontal scroll bar on a smartsheet I have to expand the sheet fully, otherwise I have to scroll down the screen in order to see the horizontal scroll bar which takes me off the entry I was looking at.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet is solving the problem of data transfer and project tracking. With the features of being able to connect smartsheets together and have information flow from one to another helps accelerate and facilitate the transfer of information and makes tracking different parts of projects very easy.
Beyond Excel Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smarsheet makes things easier regarding follow up and scheduling. the automation, the forms and the display helps the teams properly manage the projects on a Daily basis. It's also easy to implement new strategies with 3rd parties and follow up their progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
They only thign I will love to have in smartsheet is the ability to implement regular formulas used in excel. I know probably there are easy features that can do the same, but sometimes doing a raw formula can be faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping our team keep track of the field service scheduling, the cost tracking and the KPI tracking as well. This helped me and the team identify root causes of recurrent issues and make the necessary fixes.
Better than excel
What do you like best about the product?
So many templates and sheets to use for business.
What do you dislike about the product?
can be overwhelming how to build sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
solving organisation problems, allows you to be organised and display your data nicely and easily
We couldn't operate without it!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive it is to build organization-wide reports and tracking-spreadsheets for our small business that I can share internally or use personally.
What do you dislike about the product?
The top-level business tier is expensive and requires that you pay for 3 users, even though our firm only needs 2 licenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an accountant, historically I've managed my workflow and project tracking in excel. After giving Smartsheet a try, I discovered there are so many additional features in the SS worksheets platform that I really value. I can quickly and easily create custom columns with data constrainst that would otherwise be clunky and cumbersome in excel. This makes workflow management much easier for me and my small business.

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity, easily shared and accessed. Easily modified and printed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to schedule weekend work as needed in specific areas of the schedule. A quick reference on predecessor formuyla would be helpful.
