the features in MPP e.g., drill down of tasks and clear to understand task IDs is what could be better

planning, tracking risks and issues and also providing google like forms

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been very helpful to organize and track data I am collecting for my position. It allows the data to be streamlined and then able to present the data with the dashboards to make it easier to understand/follow!
What do you dislike about the product?
Being able to merge some of the information needed is hard to do. I also stuggle with some of the filters and ways to minimize column when I am not working with them. This might be a user-error though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets is allowing multiple users to work on a sheet at once and be able to track valuable data for our department.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about smartsheet is how many use cases there are. Need to collect info, use a form. Need to spin up a project, lauch a project plan. The ways to use the product are endless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes a person on my team will lose access to a sheet...but this is software we're talking about so there's that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet gets us out of the typical excel doc and into a work flow that is much easier to manage.
SmartSheet - Great Collaboration Tool
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet is a great collaboration tool that helps people easily organize their work and collaborate in ways that Excel and MS Project do not offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have likely become over users of Smart Sheet and are using it for business needs that it was really not built for. While I like the collaboration aspects, the functionality of using Smartsheet as a Project scheduling tool is pretty limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smart sheet helps us organize and track our work across a multifunctional organization. The tool is very easy to understand and does not require signficant training to be effective.
Helps Me Stay Organized
What do you like best about the product?
I love that there are many different options when it comes to organzing my information. I like to swtich between grid view, calendar view, or gnatt view. This lets me customize my experience depending on what works for my current project. I update the information every week to keep me organized!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer not to have to manually save the information in the sheet but it's not too much of an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Smartsheet, I didn't have a place to keep all of the progress of the projects I'm working on. Now, I can easily see everything I'm working on at once and know what my bandwidth is to work on other projects.

What do you like best about the product?
The functionality of forms to collect data and the ability to filter sheets easily for that data has been extremely beneficial to our business. Our field staff uses forms every single day and our project managers can easily review that information to stay informed and make tactical decisions for specific projects. We can also use the years of historical data we have at this point to make strategic desicions about the business as a whole.
What do you dislike about the product?
To maximize the functionality of the software you really need an expert at creating formulas and doing cell referencing on staff, which can be a little difficult. However, there's lots of support such as help articles and forums available and once everything is set up it's mostly automated and requires little maintenance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have field service crews that travel to hundreds of different unique sites and do a variety of work. Smartsheet allows us to have the information for all those sites easily accessible to field staff. We use forms to track maintenance needs, driving logs, and daily job reports. We also use forms for our administrative and human resources workflow. Managers can use one simple form to request a variety of employee changes such as raises, promotions, bonuses, or diciplinary action. We also have forms that allow employees to request reimbursments, submit suggestions, and a variety of other items. We also track all our sales through smartsheets.
We extensivly use automations to make sure nothing gets missed. Sales, project, maintenance, administrative, and HR deadlines all have auotmated reminders that are sent to the appropriate people. We also use automations to record dates when different tasks are completed so we can do post project analysis on efficiency.
Smartsheets is also very valuable because of the historical data it provides. We have years of data on nearly all aspects of our business in different sheets that can easily be filtered or added to reports for analysis.
Lastly, we have widely utilized dashboards to allow employees and managers to streamline their workflow. The following are just a few examples. Everything our project managers need is on our PM dashboard, such as links to SOPs, project onboarding forms, and project sheets. We have educational dashboards that link to a variety of videos, documents, and quiz forms for our employees. We also track our financial information in a smartsheet and use a dashboard to easily make charts and graphs with that data, which automatically update.

Resource planning through Resource Manager (Smartsheet) works well
What do you like best about the product?
I loved the resource manager tool and how easy it was to shift / duplicate / reassign tasks to different people.
What do you dislike about the product?
The actual smartsheets are too much like a complicated excel sheet for simple projects. For more extensive projects, they work well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The resource planning and resources being able to book their hours against categories afterwards was a big pain in our team, and Smartsheet's Resource Manager fixed that for us.
Smartsheet is really good to define a timeline for a client to understand
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to set predecessors and not having to worry about updating the dates knowing that every timeline always has changes throughout that need updating. I like that I have the ability to share the sheets with the client and that they can check the updated versions
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that you are not able to check the previous versions within the day of the sheet unless you have a subscription
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to know that our company is on track and helps me understand what is still outstanding and how long it is estimated to take. It is ideal to be able to map out the steps and know the approximations of when a project will be completed by to manage stakeholders' expectations. I do feel that the gantt chart view could do with improvements though. We used to have a business account with a subp but we ran into some issues and support wasn't great.
Smartsheet works wonders for our PPM
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets ability to automate certain tasks and mails is a huge plus for my department. User takes responsilbity of their own tasks and have the overview they need to plan their time. Being able to use templates to quickly create a new project, and the ease of which we can make minor edits in those templates is great. Also that the templates guarantee that our project processes are the same every time. The rapports are super helpful to.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit heavy of a project to dance with - while also fairly easy to use, there are some technical aspects which require a person to be fairly into knowing Smartsheet even on our day-to-day basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating projects that cross many different departments wouldn't be possible for us without a program like Smartsheet. We engage almost the entire house when working on a project.

A bit heavy on the browser. Sometimes there is a bit of lag between click and response
