The multi-tool for your team
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet provides an excellent, multi-use platform for collaboration. From Gantt charts to communication plans to sign-up sheets for team pot-luck dinners, Smartsheet provides simple, easily-built, and quickly implemented solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet may have a little too much depth and capability for the "average" business user. It's helpful having at least one "super-user" within your organization who is super-familiar with your unique business needs and how you can best leverage Smartsheet's capabilities to address them. Smartsheet customer support is helpful, but if you are in a specialized field, you'll benefit from having your own in-house expertise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides a central and acceible location for our team members to track progress and collaborate on projects.
Fast result for data management
What do you like best about the product?
I love Smartsheet easy datasheet that allowing me and my team to collaborate and shares real-time data. Many users can open the same datasheet at the same time and can edit it without any problems. We use it everyday for our daily tasks management because Smatsheet is compatible and easy to install.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislike. I have used all the tools and features by Smartsheet and fully happy with the tools performance. No recommendation on what to adds to the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project collaboration and daily tasks management is what Smartsheet has provide an advance tools for us. We can track and sent notification on tasks to the users to accelerate the delivery time.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great collaboration tool that has a very low learning curve. Using it in the field of architecture is great for communicating with clients, taking notes in, collaborating with consultants and the list goes on. Its as easy to use as excel, but is web based.
What do you dislike about the product?
The help menu may be a bit hard to find and working in the worksheet with another coworker can be difficult. Lost work can occur and the refresh option can be slow
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets helps us stay on schedule with the powerful planning tool and schedule creator.
My experience with SS has been a pleasant one.
What do you like best about the product?
I have been able to organize my project much more efficiently because of SS.Most helpful is having one source that you can share with others to use and manage all your projects.
One of my favorite upsides is the ability to be able to use dynamic view so that you can limit what someone can see but they can still update in dynamic view and it will update the "Master" sheet in live time. This takes a lot of the pressure off of one person to have to update everything when you want to share the sheet but have limited viewing options.

What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful for me at this time actaully is not due to SS but is my limited knowledge of SS and finding the time to actually nose dive into all the options that are available so that I have a better understanding of SS and how it can benifit me. I would say that the downside to SS that I can see so far is I wish it offered tabs at teh bottom (kind of like excel) that you can add to one particular Master sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SS is assisting me in solving what work and tasks have been completed, what needs to be scheduled, storing infirmation that anyone involved needs to be aware of, making notes, determining pricing, due dates, training, notifications, type of projects being competed and more!
Collaborative Version of Excel
What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration tools - most especially the online forms which gets inputted right away to your sheet as well as the automations which makes your life way easier

Formula wise - it is not as powerful as excel but the besic and needed functions are there
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
getting inputs from all across functions is very easy with forms. Automation is also wonderful for follow ups and important information (email, messages, etc)

- Include a notes section without disrupting the entire sheet's formatting.
- Understand that a certified account is required to use SmartSheet, but consider a "View-Only" option for team members without an account.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solve the ability to provide a clear outline of tasks that need to be completed and who needs to complete them.
Not an Excel replacement, but an amazing tool for automation and collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
The automation tools can do quite a lot for you once you learn how to use them. Collaboration is SO seemless. The automated reminders have been very, very useful in several different situations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit of a learning curve if you're used to excel, and unfamiliar with logical operators. It can't do everything excel can. Some implementations are a bit more clunky than excel. You have to know your use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps take a lot of the manual work out of tasks. For me, that means it identifies items that haven't been taken care of, and sends out reminders automatically. It moves items that have been completed to a separate sheet, with date of completion. This saves a lot of time and mental energy that would have been a poor use of time to execute manually. The reminders and automated workflows, especially, really take a load off my mind and out of my Outlook calendar. I can't express enough how useful and freeing it is to be able to set a reminder or action trigger and then feel confident that I can just forget it and trust it will execute when the criteria has been met! It helps keep my tasks much more organized and my mind freer.
I also find it easier and less buggy to coordinate on a Smartsheet than an Excel sheet. The real-time syncing, editing privileges, and Webforms all help me to be able to set the amount of collaboration I want (sometimes I don't want anyone messing with anything, but want input from a large list of people). The calendar view is very useful when coordinating and planning work and holiday schedules. It transforms dates into a more visual format which for me is much easier to digest.

The import of files from other softwares such as Microsoft Project is not very good

Smartsheet allows us mainly to keep track of project evolution, expenses, maintenance and repairs

What do you like best about the product?
We are a very large organization and need to utilize Smartsheet across departments and with users who may or may not be computer savvy. Smartsheet makes it easy for us to train all users for data entry and reporting. Smartsheet has allowed us to record and track data and projects in a convienent and searchable place which multiple users can access at once. Love that it functions like excel however is better for project tracking and automating work flow.

For experienced users, it doesn't give many options for different ways to organize or customize your data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously had a hard time organizing data in one place which multiple users could access at once. With smartsheet this makes it possible for collaboration across team and departments.
At one point we moved to hive for project management and I had a tough time getting it to function as well as smartsheet. Between the organizing data, colorcoordinating and being able to manage tasks in a consise and easy to read sheet, smartsheet has been the best all around.
Easy of use for those not savvy with computers has made training a lot easier.

Well-designed Project Management solution for a Spreadsheet-driven business
What do you like best about the product?
Using Smartsheet is easy and intuitive if your company is like mine and runs largely on spreadsheets. The interface is fresh and feature-rich while not being too complicated to figure out fairly easily without hours of training videos. That said, project managers can deep-dive in Smartsheet as well, whether you're looking for team collaboration, automation, notifications, ghant charts, card-based views, etc. I like that I can switch from a card view to a grid view and back easily and reports are nice for summarizing key information for management consumption. The ease with which you can onboard and collaborate with teammates is also a plus with Smartsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main dislike about Smartsheet is the inability to do certain things that are possible with common spreadsheets such as merge cells and create a more graphical presentation than just columns and rows. I understand this protects certain features like filtering, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to collaborate in a simple, freeform spreadsheet. Not a big gripe, but you asked!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our team to collaborate on critical, detailed information without overwhelming users that don't use it frequently. We have collaborated on annual budgets, maintained dynamic lists of contractor agreements, and collaborated directly with customers on their jobs and projects.
