Smartsheet has taken our Daily Operations Review to the next level
What do you like best about the product?

- incoming data files being used must be clean
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our reports for our Daily Operating Review used to be manually generated with multiple user inputs needs every morning to be able to generate the reports. Smartsheet allows us to now have that automatically generated each morning so our people can spend their time on more important tasks.
SmartSheet Experience- 3 years of use as an Admin
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides and benefits to Smartsheet inlcude:
1) Easy to use for users who are not technically inclined. Basic familiarity with Excel is usually enough for general usage
2) Easy user management. As an admin, managing who can access which information is important. Smartsheet allows for a lot of granularity as well as global control in a very accessible way
3) Options for how to inerface- the ability to present data in different ways- grid, calendar, "Kanban" cards, reports - makes the system very easy to adopt into a wide variety of workflows and use cases
4) Functionality- the ability to use the system in across a wide variety of workflows- project management, basic data analytics, scheduling, etc. - allows for a significant ROI from a single system
5) Compatibility with other systems- the ability to integrate with the Microsoft 365 environment, as well as other services, increases the usabilty of the system in existing workflows
As a result of these benefits, we have adopted Smartsheet into our daily workflows across mulitple departments. It has become a key tool for our teams.

What do you dislike about the product?
The limitations and downsides of Smartsheet include:
1) Large Data- Smartsheet struggles with large datasets. While they have worked to improve their product to address this, our experience continues to be that this is an area that is not yet as mature as some of the other features
2) Modularity- Smartsheet requres the use of separate modules within its ecosystem to achieve full functionality. This makes the contstruction and maintenance of complex workflows more complicated due to the need to access multiple separate modules in order to utilize full functionality

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Smartsheet to solve 3 problem areas for our company
1) Project Management- we use Smartsheet to develop, track, and report on large and small projects ranging from individual to-do lists up to full company-wide integrations
2) Data distribution- we use Smartsheet to aggregate and distribute data from other systems to a wide audience of internal stakeholders. The ability to upload and consolidate reports on a scheduled bases has been extremely valuable. We estimate in one department alone, we have saved 3 hrs/day/employee by reducing the repetitive work to consolidate and distribute reports
3) Analytics- we have uses Smartsheet as a basic BI tool for analyzing our data and presenting the data to stakeholders
4) Data Collecation- we have leveraged Smartsheet's ability to collect data from a variety of channels, such as forms, to collect data from internal and external participants and feed that data into analytics and reporting
5) Workflow automation- we have used Smartsheet functionality to track workflow tasks and move information along the process path to minimize the need for paper or the adoption of additional systems

Great software missing only a few things
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to link sheets. Easy to use and track data
What do you dislike about the product?
No "vlookups" or multiple tabs per sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Users across multiple companies being able to use and update the same sheets. Makes it easier to make each other aware of updates without constant emails or meetings

The forms and sheets allow easy data collection and organisation.
I love the templates as well with the tutorials.
I also use Smartsheet under a PMO format, this allows us to manage our projects in an effective way

What do you dislike about the product?
Getting used to some of the features can take some time however this is due to using Excel for many years.

It's a more advanced version of Excel. This makes it more flexible and usefull for our projects to use.

It's not a common tool in Europe yet, so not a lot of projects in Europe use it.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Able to collaborate with many users working on the same sheet. Intuitive and minimium training needed

Doesn't share similar formulas as MS Excel

A highly versatile data management system
What do you like best about the product?
The way smartsheet manages data just makes sense. Everything is natively in a spreadsheet, but how you view that data can be changed to kanban, gantt diagrams, reports, dashboards etc.
Smartsheet's combination of automations and spreadsheet functions makes the system incredibly powerful. What you can do with this is really bound by your imagination, it can work on a detailed level or simple, which is great for users of all skillsets.

What do you dislike about the product?
It does not manage time (HH:MM) data at all by default. To make it do this requires a large amount of complex functions.
There are some limitations around how automations and functions interact, which means the you have to revert to complex workarounds not all users would be comfortable implementing.
It doesn't manage emails and conversations. In other systems, you can link email conversations to tasks (rows) so the conversation is all in one place.

We run our task list or service desk from a smartsheet kanban, and forms.
Without smartsheet we would not have all our information in one place, and could not manage our tasks.

An excellent project management solution!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is so helpful for collaborating with coworkers all in one place, rather than scattered across multiple platforms. There are so many features, templates, and other tools to make working together seamless. It's very easy to start new projects and project manage multiple initiatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't a ton of downsides, but there is a lack of features that would be present in Excel/Word like coloring row headers, fonts, etc. Sometimes the website is buggy.

Smartsheets is a very usefull organization tool that save time and facilitates collaboration.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets allows for teams to collaborate and easily keep track of project progress. There are functionalities that streamline tasks and avoid needless email communications. The comment functionality is really uselfull. Integrations with email and other 3rd party apps are great to centralize the information.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functions that can be used in the cells are limited or harder to use. Coming from Excel, user can be turned off by the lack of functions available that are muched used in Excel.
