A good low/no code toolkit
What do you like best about the product?
I think its great that you can use a lot of the formulas you would be used to from Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets but in a quasi database / application. We use it for everything from prospect managemtn, to timesheet entry , capacity planning and project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
there are some arbitaty limitations on connections bettween sheets and refrences which has casued problems in the past. It also does not pull across an image to a cell as expected nad we could do with the abilityt o freeze rows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet for all our project plan but also to help us with resoucing and capacity management
Linking to other sheets makes calculation easier.
What do you like best about the product?
The formula that can link to other sheets makes the calculation easily.
Forms URL query string helps to auto-populate a form with data from other sheet makes the ease of integration.
The workflow is easy to set up and it connects cross-functional team collaboration and reduces the complexity of process and manual work.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is no search function to find a key word around the whole sheets. The filter function cannot fulfill the search or find function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The approval process can be used to connect with the approvals from other teams.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is great for its versatility and ease of collaboration. The ability to change permissions by sheet and have email notifications for specific updates or changes is invaluable. Having data available in real time for those in and outside of the company is the main draw and why it is used almost daily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formulas cannot be used the same way as they are in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintenance techs submitting information via survey that autoloads the data into Smartsheet is a huge timesaver and great example of digitizing even our field work. Main use is tracking updates for mulitple unrelated projects. Everything from access information changes to new construction projects.
An easy method to manage and automate projects
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is as if Excel combined with Access and made it dead simple to update team members on the status of a project. Since Smartsheet looks similar to Excel, we have found that the learning curve is much smaller compared to other suites that we have tried and the ability to import our old projects also meant that getting started was very simple. There isn't a single day that I am not using Smartsheet or being pinged by someone else through Smartsheet. IT works well as a somewhat centralized location for our projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some downsides to Smartsheet, but many of these issues are common to Excel and mostly have to do with screen real estate on smaller monitors or our older Dell laptops. Ocassionally the scrollbar won't show up on sheets that are very wide. Dealing with very large data sets can be somewhat cumbersome going through a web interface, but fortunately (or unfortunately if you have made a mistake) the autosave feature triggers often enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where I work has many disparate locations that have sprung up over the last 40 years to store and manage our data for past, present, and future projects. Smartsheet is used a central copy that anybody can easily access and share with our field engineers. This also means that I do not have to go digging through someone's files to get the information I need while wasting time.

Some of the lingo can get confusing, so it takes a bit to adjust.

Keeping information and attachments in one spot. Working through project builds and keeping updates all in one place.

the checkbox! that is not an easy feature to replicate in Excel

Since it is a spreadsheet, it becomes tricky to convince everyone to use Smartsheet over Excel

it looks more user-friendly than Excel aesthetics-wise. The checkbox and built-in automation configuration makes it easier to use.
My awesome experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Its versatility for customization, automation, visibility into project statuses and reporting. These aspects enable me to manage training reports and hygiene systems and processes efficiently.

One aspect I find limiting about Smartsheet is its lack of support for all Excel formulas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has transformed our departmental training reports, replacing time-consuming manual paperwork with a digital, paperless system. This transition saves time and resources and improves data accuracy and accessibility by storing, managing, and accessing all training data and reports within the platform.

Mostly positive experience with some odd limitations
What do you like best about the product?
For the most part, Smartsheet is more user friendly than some of the other project management tools that I've used. It is mostly intuitive for users. It is easy to spin up items, especially if you hgave previously created a template
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some odd limitations. Why can you not share a folder? You can share a workspace, or a sheet, but not a folder. This is a major roadblock that every other mroject management tool I've used can do.
You cannot see hiearchy in reports. This is another strange limitation that makes reports unusable in a number of scenarios.
Some items are restricted despite paying fora premium plan and require a very high fee to unlock. One example is dynamic view. It is unreasonable that reports do not display all items when certain viewers don't have access to the source sheet. There should be a way around this without thousands fo dollars a year.

It solves having to reach out to remind individuals of due dates due to reminders. It allows for WBS sheets with assigned tasks to delegate work.
Fantastic, versatile tool for project & resource management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a powerful, versatile project management tool that allows Client Services teams to manage a range of different deliverables/elements of the project management lifecycle with ease, including: Project planning/timeline management, Status tracking, Resource management, Budget management. It's endlessly customisable and supports automations, which makes it a valuable tool for team collaboration in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
To make it a fully end-to-end solution, it would be ideal if Smartsheet could include time tracking features for resource management (i.e. timesheet logging) and invoicing features (i.e. PO creation, invoicing creation) to avoid teams needing to rely on other, cloud-based tools for their commercial management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet enables collaboration in real-time - across timezones and multiple Client Services teams, due to it being a fully cloud-based tool.
By onboarding client accounts to Smartsheet, internal and client-facing workstreams have been united meaning that status, work and budget tracking can occur all within the same workspace/sheets - ultimately driving efficiency and reducing reliance on multiple tools and processes.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of usability, some features are pretty cool - Content proofing, automations, forms - these are very useful in my day to day working
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards and the reporting capabilities appear to be limited and not very useful

I am able to easily setup my project timelines/schedules in the tool and track project's deliverables end to end
