Ideal for smaller size companies or small improvement team
What do you like best about the product?
The license structure is nice when a company doesn't have a lot of projects (±30) and do require overview accross projects, baselining, gantt chart scheduling. It doesn't require a full license for all users but only for the ones that construct the project sheets. All other users can maintain the schedules or lists using a free license.
It is easy to setup and flexible. Teams integration ensures you don't need to switch between application and increases the level of participation of all project team members.

What do you dislike about the product?
The available templates help you get started and eventhough it is easy to setup and customize it does require some thought how to set up the sheets to ensure the projects are properly supported by the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a low cost solution to have gantt chart scheduling with portfolio management overview.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great software as it feels incredibly familiar given the very basics of use is essentially an excel sheet. It was very easy to understand Smartsheet and subsequently easy to introduce and teach others. The program also comes with a huge range of features that allows you to modify as you see fit for your needs.
Sign up process was easy and straight forward. At this stage, I am using Smartsheet to track all sorts of projects and use it everyday.

What do you dislike about the product?
While it is a good thing for the program to come with a big range of features, this can also be seen as a downfall for some. There are a huge number of possibilities on how you can edit or amend in an attempt to suit what you need, however, this can feel overwhelming at times.
There are some features that I wish were much more straightforward (i.e click of a button) - however, sometimes it takes additional effort to create.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a huge number of projects, each with its own set of tasks lists and unique processes. Using Smartsheet is allowing us to track every single project and know exactly where things are at, who is working on what, who had worked on what and so much more.

It's a combination ofMS Projects and Excel, easy to use and share with other people

You need to build your own automation and workflow, no enough templates, some features require a different product

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our engineering management system is lacking. Using a tool like Smartsheet to help interact with project team is definetly a great tool especially that we work in a matrix environment. It helps the many department have a collective vision (approvals, workflows, change management and overall project management)

Ideal as a repository of information that can be shared with clients.

Nil dislikes. There are many aspects of Smartsheet I don't require but perhaps may do in the future.

Being able to host my clients information in one go-to dashboard.
Such a powerful tool, we wouldn't be without it

Smartsheet is so scaleable. From a using a single sheet for the most basic of things, to the most comprehensive workspace with mulitple linked sheets, forms, automation and dashboards, it possible to always build somethin gto meet your needs.
The ability to also connect external sources making the functionality of Smartsheets so much more flexible is great and really easy to implement solutions for our business.
It would be no exageration if I said we literally use Smartsheets all day every day.
Only once in the years of using Smartsheets have we ever experienced a service outage. The customer support team kept us appriased with hourly updates throughout the issue and it was back up and running in a reasonabe timeframe.

What do you dislike about the product?
The one shortcoming of smartsheets in that the facility to produce pivot tables is not part of the core product. Yes, I know it is available as an add in, however the cost is just simply not justifiable. Would love for this to be part of the main product, it really would be a complete solution then.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets gives us the ability to record data. That is its primary function. However, What smartsheets allows you to then do is analyse that date in multiple ways, report on it, and share it. This is the real benefit, giving users easy access to exactly the data they need, when they need it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet offers a set-up for us to easily get an overview of our projects, its deadlines (daily deadlines being highlighted in red is very helpful) and most imortant the different steps in a workflow (the drop down funtion is very benificial for us).

Project follow up template is very usefull. It is so easy, most of the project management tools are too complicated.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not easy to handle some styling needs on the file. Sometimes having difficulty to find the settings to fix the issue on the file. It looks like excel but some functions are different.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have to review the work flow on the projects with our clients. Smartsheet gives us the visibility what is the exact steps we will take in the project flow. Customer can easily understands the flow.
It is easy to take some actions on the flow, usually in the other project management tools it is not easy o handle the changes on the flow that much.

Easy to use and very generic for most types of projects.

Easy to onboard new project members, if you know Excel you know how to navigate in Smartsheet.

Cumbersome licensing. many users does not need a licensed plan, but the app keeps pushing for more licenses.

It is our project management tool for our generic projects (all non technical as these need pipelines, test plans and github integration).

The range of views and filters that can be applied to each Smartsheet. This means I can view each project as a bespoke piece of work

Sometimes it can feel a little slow when opening a number of Smartsheets

It enables me to manage multiple projects and workstream. It provides all the right prompts in all the right places toi ensure that I achieve the schefduled deadlines and milestones
