A Solid System for the Price Point
What do you like best about the product?
Unification of project statuses, I really like the dashboards, which are clear and useful for senior stakeholders. It was so simple to set up (push and play really) and I think Smartsheet University and the user community are first rate. I also like that you have some functionality without a need for a license, this very cost effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the roll up information can be difficult to handle and there's something of an outlay of time to learn the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us an opportunity to share proect timelines with stakeholders who wouldn't usually have visibility without it. They can also update their tasks and communicate within a single tool, which is helpful.
Excellent project management software and organize complex workflows.
What do you like best about the product?
It is convenient for record keeping, and the cell size automatically adjusts to the inserted sentences, saving the time of manually expanding the rows; it also logs out automatically to prevent others from accidentally editing the files. Thanks to its intuitive spreadsheet-like interface, teams can easily organize and track their projects, assign tasks, and collaborate in real-time. The ability to automate workflows and integrate with other tools further enhances productivity and streamlines project management processes. The feature of attaching documents and commenting on each row creates excellent communication and visibility for all team members, making the approval process much simpler.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only drawback of Smartsheet is that when uploading files, it does not have the option to overwrite documents or rename them, for example, Version 2 or revised. The Smartsheet dashboard view could be more robust than its current version. The lack of widescreen viewing experience options limits its usability for display board purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help in tracking records; show the number of days used to complete a task and show that the work is being processed; with the data listed correctly, I would always know how long I have been on a particular task. Smartsheet allows for total team collaboration and communication to provide a seamless project management experience. The automation aspect of the software means that my projects can stay updated without active supervision. Smartsheet is solving the problem of the approval process, many times we don't know who has the asset or where in the process it is, Smartsheet allows the team to know where the deliverable is in the process and its status.

Sometimes, we need to export a sheet and I do ask myself - why can't I design it the way we can with Excel.

Managing my team before SmartSheet was tought. Now I have a clear view of my teams Tasks - and resource occupation !
Excellent set of tools for successful project planning and management.
What do you like best about the product?
It is a sophisticated web-based solution that allows for a variety of features and dashboards in addition to project management. It provides simple PPM software that allows me to assign tasks to my colleagues more easily, add users to project circles, and they may instantly begin working on the same project. It allows me to organize, produce, and share project tracking/reports, tasks, and processes; it is similar to Microsoft Excel but with an upgraded feature that allows me to manage my work projects quickly and effectively; it contains automations, online form entries, and a control panel.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a minor learning curve, particularly when it comes to Smartsheet more complex functions, however, by putting in some work and utilizing the accessible customer assistance and tutorials, I was able to comprehend and apply these functionalities, therefore boosting our project management skills. Sometimes the sheet or spreadsheet is not updated in real time, we cannot filter the row, and cell connection and data entering are restricted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I can work wonderfully together to manage a project and ensure that it is delivered on time; it is critical for our organization to always fulfill our project deadlines. The automation greatly aided our team, particularly when producing cost estimates and punch lists on-site. It also assisted us in identifying delays in our project, and the dashboard is very appreciated. Smartsheet aids in staff and resource management by enabling seamless assignment and tracking of team member availability. Additionally, Smartsheet serves as a valuable record-keeping tool, providing a centralized repository of project-related information and facilitating easy access to historical data.

Smartsheet allows our team to collaborate in real-time with our clients. It provides us with advanced features that make project planning and tracking more efficient. Also, it is easy to configure and is user-friendly.

It's pricing structure might be high for smaller businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us to create project plans that are used in every aspect of the project. It's tracking ability helps us to face the challenges in advance.
Powerful reporting and analytical tool
What do you like best about the product?
Being admin I have to handle all user management of my organisation and guide users. I feel smartsgeet is highly flexible and customisable app. It's secure and user friendly. Would highly recommend using smartsheet to collaborate with teams

As if now i haven't seen much cons but hear about sheets not being updating in real time.
Also sometimes when data is really huge it gets slower. If these two things are fixed definitely it's winner (anyways it's much better than excel;))

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main problem it solved is replacing boring traditional Excel sheets. It has benefitted my org with really good results and we would definitely continue using it for our management and operations.

Haven't really come across any issues with it so far.

Makes creating project timelines a breeze with it's easy to use features and visual aspects (Gantt chart)
Smartsheet - Most Valuable Tool In My Arsenal
What do you like best about the product?
The versaitility and usability across the board. Ability to get dashboards and reports quickly has been instrumental in our multi-million dollar projects.
I have used similar software like Microsoft Project as well as simple Excel spreadsheets for my Project Management and have not found anythign as useful and adaptable as Smartsheet.
Availability to share sheets with outside vendors has been amazing as well!

What do you dislike about the product?
It would be beneficial to have an easier way to share sheets/workspaces. If I need to go back after sharing a workspace and not share a specific item, I have to remove a user from the workspace and then ensure they are then added to each individual sheet that they can have access to. I have not seen this issue with smaller projects, but the large ones that I am working on now have been a little irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to request updates and keep conversations tracked right on the task line has been amazing! Traceability using this has saved us more times than we can count already. This feature also allows us to go back and see who commented what and when without having to dig through emails.

Smartsheet Form and other automations
What do you like best about the product?
I can use the spreadsheet for collaborations, which helped to move my stakeholders, auditors, and legal team to use the Smarthseet instead of Excel workbooks.
We also use Smarsheets to write up business rule engines so that non-technical users can add their rules, and we convert them into code-like rules for further processing, so non-technical users use Smarsheets instead of insert or update commands in DB/Table, which has other hassles of user access overheads.
I use APIs to consolidate multi-tenant data and publish it to Smarsheet forms so the end user can use it for their business data. For instance, if an auditor or legal team uses the data, the API pull data helps decide some factors, and they can add their observations based on various decisions.

Lately, I have been trying to shift from writing up code using Django or Flask UI frameworks to see if I can use Smarsheet forms, but the conditions are VERY LIMITED; below are my basic requirements which a state must have:
1. No display labels that take values from Smartsheet-backed column data; all are editable labeled. When you design a form, you need editable and non-editable form data.
2. There is no drop-down with restricted values, so we use API to force the user to pick only the latest data from backend tables on drop-downs.
3. We created a flask wrapper to get the latest data from a key, which is a good feature if you have a form.
4. 20K rows on a Smarthseet is VERY LESS, so some users had to return to Excel sheets/Google sheets with Google Forms.

Collaboration and user input to forms help us capture data and perform analytics using various visualization and ML models. The API option has great benefits for data consolidation and form usage.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the structured design and the integration with forms. The Excel-like format is particularly helpful as it provides a clear list view of tickets, making it easier to prioritize requests based on their importance. I also love the flexibility to customize the interface and options to suit my needs
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing stopping me from the 10 is how the system is down and unavailable at times .
