A more comprehensive, integrated, and collaborative version of excel
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it can be easily shared with team members and that there can be many collaborators. I also find it helpful that you can create forms where data is then inputted into the form. I also like that there is a dashboard that can visualize the data easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I find the UX experience a bit complicated - particularly when you are using forms. "Automations, forms and Connections" do not feel intuitive to me. I know how to use the basic excel-like function, but the secondary functions are confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logigng, tracking, and monitoring projects and contacts with the option to share the data with teammates. Additionally, I like that you can add comments and attachments. It is very helpful to be able to hyperlink to other materials.
Smartsheet for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has good dashboard features. Using the dashboard helps to provide portfolio level updates in a summarized fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. Maybe a bit more user friendliness can help attract more users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Smartsheet for project and portfolio management. With many teams and projects being managed smartsheet is useful to consolidate all project reports, status, issues and risks - all in one place.
Smartsheets can centralize information about multiple projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it keeps things like project scopes, timelines and other docs in one location. The dashboard view helps management get an idea of how many projects we're working on, and how many are on schedule vs not. My team also likes that you don't have to log in multiple times per day like we do with certain other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prior to using Smartsheets, we kept track of projects in Google Sheets and/or Docs, so my team and I are accustomed to the functionality it provides. My team provided me with this feedback:
1. Comments can only be added to a row, not to specific cell, so additional explanation is required in each comment.
2. Every time it auto-refreshes, you lose your spot in the sheet, because it kicks you back to the upper left corner of the sheet.
3. We have to remember to 'favorite' the sheets we work in, otherwise they are hard to find again.
4. LOTS of email notifications are sent, and sometimes you don't know if it's a notification of a change YOU made or one made by someone else.
5. When we're tagged in a comment, we have a hard time finding it on the smartsheet. The line number is on the email, but the link in the email should just take you there. Sometimes it does take you there automatically, and sometimes it doesn't. Seems like it works better if you already have the application open on one tab before clicking into the link. It's confusing.
6. If you are tagged in a comment in a certain row, but another row was added, the line reference becomes obsolete and you have to figure it out on your own.

The timeline is visible to all of us, and we can see the status of different stages of the project. We are still learning how best to use it's functionality to solve problems and make us work more efficiently.
Smartsheet allows real time collaboration and a variety of organizational features for my company.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are several organizational view options when inputting data. Its also pretty easy to share documents and sheets with cross-teams for different workstreams. It is consistent every day we use it, very little downtime or concern with it functioning. It is also intuitive when introducing different smartsheet process onboarding to teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had more live updates and didnt require a save button. Sometimes as we get busy and so accustomed to live updated documents, it can be easy to forget to hit save. Perhaps there is a way to toggle for certain docs?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet acts as our calendar log for all of our marketing communications activities. The cloud nature of it is very helpful as well for sharing and on demand viewing.
Good tool if you understand how to use it
What do you like best about the product?
Our team has implemented Smartsheets to track everything from tasks, updates, deadlines—in one place, so there’s no need for endless email chains. It’s flexible enough to fit any type of project and has made managing projects feel way more efficient and way less chaotic.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not always as user-friendly as I'd like. There are times when it is not intutive to set up a more advanced sheet. And at times I've run into issues making it difficult to share externally.

It's been a great tool to keep our projects and calendars organized and integrated.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using smartsheet with questionnaires in order to gather data from others. It helps me track how we are doing and review specific information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like it can be difficult to use at times, specifically with project management timelines. I ended up going in a different direction for handling that information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been very helpful with collection of information from others (such as forms) and visualizing that data later.

Collaborating with others in the same organisation is very easy and saves a lot of time
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as feature rich as products from larger companies. Sharing externally or to clients/suppliers that don't use Smartsheet is not very easy.

We primarily use Smartsheet to create milestones for projects in a pre-sales environment

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to navigate when it comes to team's collaboration. There are also numbers of features in Smarsheet that could improve workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not that easy to use, sometimes, it can get confusing when you need to use specific functions and create a unique template.

Workflow.
Great sheet for tracking content flow
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to have multiple entries in a single cell without having to construct complicated formulae,
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the renewal process was complicated and problematic, and the company was not always responsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow tracking; helps us see who is working on what project and if deadlines are being met.
