Smartsheet: Manage your project - not your project management system
What do you like best about the product?
I spend significantly less time managing the system and more time focussing on the project.
The dashboard report templates significantly reduce the effort required to produce month-end reports.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheets do not support some complex scheduling, such as resource contouring.
Currently, no (known) ways exist to assign resource costs back to specific tasks; costs are consolidated at the project level.

Used for compliance management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows for document management and collaboration that are ideal for ISO compliance. The simple to use interface facilitates collaboration amongst team members, and the attachment functionality facilitates audits of documents, records, and artifacts within ISO management systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that backups are housed within Smartsheet. If Smartsheet is unavailable, the backups are unavailable. Additionally, backups are not in a fully restorable format. Restoring from backups still requires a large amount of rework as links, formulas, versions, and other associations are stripped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet offers an internal and external collaboration tool that allows for the quick sharing of information during audits. Facilitating both the audit and certification process.

What do you like best about the product?
The feature I appreciate most about Smartsheet is its flexibility. We can customize it to our workflow, whether we're planning a marketing campaign or developing a new product. The ability to assign tasks, set deadlines, and automate notifications keep us on track and focused.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite Smartsheet's merits, its mobile application needs improvements. Navigation is cumbersome and synchronizing updates between devices can be slow. This hampers the team's ability to manage projects on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has made managing projects a lot easier. We spend less time on things like updating progress and keeping track of deadlines. Plus, we always know about upcoming tasks or changes because of its alert system.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has completely changed how I manage projects. With its strong features and ability to work with other software, it helps me plan tasks well and keeps my team and our projects organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet’s mobile app could use some improvements. It does not offer the same fluid user experience as the desktop version, which makes it less effective for remote work.

Great User Friendly Platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like SmartSheet because it is very user friendly and keeps my team and I organized and on top of all of our work. I have rarely ran into any issues with this platform which I appreciate!

The least helpful thing about SmartSheet is that they don't give you much training materials.

Robust & Simple at the Same Time
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is flexible in its complexity of use - it can remain simple and work effectively, but it can also be very complex and still remain effective. In short, the breadth of application is wide.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about Smartsheet is how it can be challenging to navigate efficiently once fully built out, particularly if used infrequently or if you only use part of the Smartsheet environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped our working group to effectively build out development plans for a variety of projects. This is not unique; however, the way in which Smartsheet's project tracking sheets can also grow and shift to accommodate "build as you fly" projects has been a welcome addition to our work.
Smartsheet makes working on a remote team so much easier!
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Smartsheet is the ability to have multiple team members working on the same sheet at the same time. The ability to have forms that auto populate data into the Smartsheet is also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I miss in Smartsheet that Excel has is the ability to filter rows by color. It would also be nice to be able to have multiple tabs in Smartsheet the way I can in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me collaborate with co-workers all over the country and streamline data collection from both internal and external sources.
Great with project management
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Smartsheet is user-friendly when creating the sheets and using conditional formatting is easy. It is easy to share the sheet with all users and allow them to make live updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't modify the first row and there are limitations in what we can put in Conditional Formatting. Also, it requires users with no Smartsheet account to create an account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems Smartsheet is solving are keeping track of tasks and accountability for all users. It benefits the department as it creates more organization in the workflow.
Great for easy organization of large projects
What do you like best about the product?
Creating automation allows Smartsheet to be very useful. When projects have deadlines or expiration dates, use the quick automation tab to create reminders for staff prevents projects from getting behind.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating large projects, you run into certain limitations. I found not being able to edit the 1st column did limit certain things I was trying to achieve. Also, it is essential to remember that this isn't Excel, and for calculations, excel performs much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large project that has a lot of hands touching it. We were able to create a database that people could fill out "surveys" in order to input data rather than having 10+ on a sheet at the same time.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part about Smartsheet is that you can create tracking sheets to help you keep track of work assignments and the progress of those assignments. It can easily be shared with your team, allowing everyone to edit and collaborate on the sheet. The upside is that it can also be used for personal reasons. You can use Smartsheets to keep track of your yearly personal goals, bills, and events.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheet is that it does take time to master the platform. With that set, you will need time to learn all the perks this platform has to offer.

Smartsheet is helping me solve the problem of forgetting timelines and the progress of a project. It also helps me keep track on sample submissions and when they need to be processed by.
