Invaluable cloud-based collaborative project planning
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it simple for my team to share and edit detailed Gantt plans from any computer, then share a link that the customer knows will always be up to date and accurate. Lags, dependencies and holiday date features make our plans rock solid.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much! Perhaps the design of plans could be updated to look a little more modern and less like a spreadsheet, but it's a minor complaint that doesn't impact it's utility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an agency-style team managing upwards of 50 projects at once, with multiple project mangers needing to be able to quickly fire up a new project from a template, get feedback/input from their colleagues, then share the plan with a customer for their feedback.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is best for managing the team's workload and activities as it provides live activity logs , assignments and tasks to be completed in deadlines in spreadsheets format which is very easy to use for anyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dislike thing is maybe Smartsheet is the no.1 project management software, but it didn't provide it's users with time tracking. Maybe that's the reason people shift to Monday.com as it allows for this function with a subscription at no extra cost. Our company now also moves to Monday.com from Smartsheet as they provides us extra features within subscription cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helped manage our daily tasks and assignments to employees in different locations. It also helped to manage our workflow within time schedules. Now we're not active user of this product as we move to Monday.
Powerful tool that could be even better
What do you like best about the product?
The possibilitites of randomizing your workspaces and sheets are very useful and can addapt to the needs of your business pretty easily. Different teams can use the tools for various types of projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to become an expert in Smartsheets and it takes a lot of time to find out about all of the features available. Additionally, keeping data integrity between sheets with hundreds of users can become a challenge. An useful feature would be to expand sheets capacity(limited to 500.000 cells) and to exapand the # of columns available(400 only).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows to automate stages and notify users when they need to step in. Creating reports(based on sheets) is also very convenient and allows to present selected data to specific users.
Smartsheets is a Smart tool for average people.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use. I think that the interface is very simple and allows my team to quickly adapt to the challenges that pop up. Especially my teams ability to create both sheets, forms and dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formulas are a little difficult to use, though I believe I need to just read the documentation more to get a better handle on it. Then unfortunately I feel like there is a lot of tools or features that I don't know the best ways to use and incorporate into my tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are required to keep track of a large amount of people throughout the several years of training with us. Smartsheet allows us to have the tools necessary to manage that digitally. Our workflow has also improved thanks to the notification tools that we have placed into out sheets.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Smartsheet for its user-friendly interface, seamless sharing capabilities, collaborative nature, and the availability of excellent training resources. These aspects have significantly enhanced my project planning experience and made it easier for me to contribute effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that one aspect I find challenging is the limited customisation options for visualising data. While the platform offers a variety of pre-built templates and views, I sometimes encounter limitations when trying to tailor the visual representation of my project data to specific requirements. Having more flexibility in terms of customising charts, graphs, and dashboards would greatly enhance the overall user experience. Nonetheless, I still find Smartsheet to be an invaluable tool for project planning and collaboration.

As a product manager, Smartsheet is a game-changer, even though I don't use it daily. When I do, it solves critical problems and brings immense benefits. It revolutionizes team communication and collaboration, ensuring everyone is on the same page with tasks, updates, and timelines. Its intuitive project tracking tools keep me organized and on top of deadlines effortlessly. And when we do use it, the real-time collaboration feature fosters efficiency and teamwork. Smartsheet is a powerful asset that I rely on whenever I need it, delivering exceptional results every time.
Great for Project Timelines
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet for a few months now, and I've enjoyed using it to create schedule templates for all of my projects. It's easy to create templates, and I like that I can assign specific task lines to my colleagues.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet improved its user interface for resource management across multiple projects. When I assign the same person on various projects and use this tool, Smartsheet would automatically flag my resource at being "200%" overworked when I'm only intending to split them "50%" on each project or "33%" if I have other ongoing projects. I know Smartsheet has an additional resource management integration, but I wish I didn't need it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before I used Smartsheet, my team was struggling with timeline projections for our client deliverables. However, once we were able to discuss and debate a project timeline template, it was easy for me to generate new timelines and make fast adjustments using the predecessor features.
Great for online collab & forms, but missing advanced features offered in Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Forms. No doubt it's forms. The ability for me to essentially have a SurveyMonkey, but then have different automations on it is awesome. Such as auto-email a manager if less than 3 stars is given on a review. Stuff like that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss some functionality of Excel. First, - like Google Sheets offers as well - I miss having the ability to have multiple tabs on a single spreadsheet. Second, I find that some of the functionality and logic statements aren't there in Smartsheet such as vLookup, IF, or others...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Despite being an End User of Smartsheet, my job is Regional Admin of Sales Development CRM. As such, I often need to collect data from a variety of sources, sometimes including to over the 1k employees in my region. Smartsheet is a great way to collect, analyze, and automate data.
Using SmartSheets for project management in a museum setting
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is intuitive to use and is extremely flexible. It allows you to customize sheets for a variety of uses. I also really like the conditional formatting option. I use it to give me a visual summary of the state of a project, showing what is late and what is done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet would allow multiple tabs. I hope it is a feature that they will add in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to project manage exhibition development at a museum. It allows me to organize who is responsible for what and when it is due. The fact that it is online enables team members to access it from anywhere.
It gets the job done. Support team isn't very robust, but overall great product.
What do you like best about the product?
It's "easy" and the UI is simple. Most anyone can jump in and learn to navigate / use the product pretty quickly. It also has the ability to automate workflows which we have found very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support team are hit & miss. They are great in that they can immediately pick up the phone and speak to a human and even join a Zoom call in order to screenshare. However, almost 99% of the time they mention they'll open a ticket on your behalf or follow up afterwards, and that never happens. Makes it nearly impossible to follow up on a ticket and you are forced to start from scratch with a new support rep.

We leverage smartsheets to build client-facing dashboards that are easily automatable even with MASSIVE amounts of data, while also being easily accessible to the clients.
SmartSheet is easy to use but quite powerful
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create useful sheets, project charts, and the like. The selection of templates is more than adequate. It can do quite good workflow management which is easier to setup than SharePoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
The document control is somewhat limited

We use it for the basic workflow through presales to delivery. I personally use the projectr management capabilities for Gantt charts, risk management and action tracking
