Great for online collab & forms, but missing advanced features offered in Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Forms. No doubt it's forms. The ability for me to essentially have a SurveyMonkey, but then have different automations on it is awesome. Such as auto-email a manager if less than 3 stars is given on a review. Stuff like that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss some functionality of Excel. First, - like Google Sheets offers as well - I miss having the ability to have multiple tabs on a single spreadsheet. Second, I find that some of the functionality and logic statements aren't there in Smartsheet such as vLookup, IF, or others...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Despite being an End User of Smartsheet, my job is Regional Admin of Sales Development CRM. As such, I often need to collect data from a variety of sources, sometimes including to over the 1k employees in my region. Smartsheet is a great way to collect, analyze, and automate data.
Using SmartSheets for project management in a museum setting
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is intuitive to use and is extremely flexible. It allows you to customize sheets for a variety of uses. I also really like the conditional formatting option. I use it to give me a visual summary of the state of a project, showing what is late and what is done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet would allow multiple tabs. I hope it is a feature that they will add in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to project manage exhibition development at a museum. It allows me to organize who is responsible for what and when it is due. The fact that it is online enables team members to access it from anywhere.
It gets the job done. Support team isn't very robust, but overall great product.
What do you like best about the product?
It's "easy" and the UI is simple. Most anyone can jump in and learn to navigate / use the product pretty quickly. It also has the ability to automate workflows which we have found very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support team are hit & miss. They are great in that they can immediately pick up the phone and speak to a human and even join a Zoom call in order to screenshare. However, almost 99% of the time they mention they'll open a ticket on your behalf or follow up afterwards, and that never happens. Makes it nearly impossible to follow up on a ticket and you are forced to start from scratch with a new support rep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We leverage smartsheets to build client-facing dashboards that are easily automatable even with MASSIVE amounts of data, while also being easily accessible to the clients.
SmartSheet is easy to use but quite powerful
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create useful sheets, project charts, and the like. The selection of templates is more than adequate. It can do quite good workflow management which is easier to setup than SharePoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
The document control is somewhat limited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for the basic workflow through presales to delivery. I personally use the projectr management capabilities for Gantt charts, risk management and action tracking
The best combination between old school and new ways
What do you like best about the product?
It's a cloud and collaborative tool, very friendly with Google Apps, in which we can use comments and attach files from Google Drive in order to work from the office, home or even the smartphone and with different timezones. In addition, it doesn't only offer the power of sheets, with tasks, dates, baselines, costs and assigned people, else it allow take advantage of that information to construct reports and dashboards updated automatically from those sheets. Finally, we can also to be up date getting emails and notifications about changes, to speed up information and decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Howerver, I'd like to be able to define more than one baseline, undo the last changes even I've saved them and manage different versions of the same sheet. It's impossible recover a previous version of a sheet only with a few cliks and that is very importat in a collaborative tool like this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can share the schedule and budget for projects in a only place, saving emails and meetings with comments.
Smartsheet has become our organisation's backbone system
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use for all the team due to it's similarity to Excel. The automations have saved us many hours of manual work. The ability to add comments, attachments, document proofing and integrate with Docusign makes this a very powerful tool.
The versitility of Smartsheet has enabled us to keep all our data in one place which reduces duplication and all of our reporting feeds through the system all the way to our Board and Funder reports.

What do you dislike about the product?
Basic security, such as Single Sign On, is only offered for specific packages and has required us to increase our subscription level. It could benefit from Excel functions such as a lookup to other sheets to have central drop-down lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our project management system in a central collaborative way. Reducing duplication, creating consistency and ensuring confidence across the team in using the system.
Tool that can support a lot of procedures anytime, anywhere
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is always available, anytime, anywhere, to support many procedures interactively. User provides information in a simple way and Dashboards support all the reviews in a much better visual way
What do you dislike about the product?
Forms designs could contain more features to support better and more precise user data entry, reducing the amount of update request messages that a user has to deal with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving our problem of user interaction with specific workflow tasks; without a workflow management solution, the user can register themselves any time and anywhere; during the process, users can interact with the administration by answering at the right time, the question that might be changing the course of some procedures.
Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, intuitive, easy to get started with the basic functionalities and more comprehensive features such as reporting, dashboarding are also relatively easily available. Also love the proofing function and e-learnings that are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fees for a licensed user is relatively high if you only use the basic functionalities. For any add ons like control center and resource management you need to be quite a big player to make the investment worth it. Learning the more comprehensive features takes quite some time. Would also like to see a more local forum where best practices of other companies are shared.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of projects' progress to ensure timely completion and an easy way to report to management using dashboarding. Using the proofing function to sign-off on documents.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very user-friendly. It helps me to organize my work methodically and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't find any negative comments about smartsheet. However, if you include a calendar option it would be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to organize my tasks well since I handle multiple companies. I like the alarm option which, helps me to keep track and follow up all my tasks. I love the option of categorizing the tasks row by row, adding comments, adding attachments and setting reminders.
Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I utilize Smartsheet as a project tracking tool for overseeing the progress of more than 50 projects. The reporting tools and customizable dashboards are among its standout features. The ability to generate figures and tables from the data in Smartsheet greatly aids in creating impactful presentations. Moreover, the scripting capabilities, akin to Excel, prove to be a significant time-saving advantage for new users who are adept at Excel programming.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the help function is a valuable resource, it may not always provide answers to all questions. In some instances, I have encountered situations where the information I sought was not available in the help tab, necessitating me to seek assistance from my colleagues to find the answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
