Robust Project Management with a Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly flexible and user-friendly, making project and task management seamless. I really like how it combines the familiarity of spreadsheets with advanced project management features like automated workflows, real-time collaboration, reporting dashboards, and integrations with tools we already use. It’s easy to scale across teams and departments, ensuring everyone stays aligned and accountable. The visibility it provides into project status and progress is a huge plus, helping drive efficiency and informed decision-making.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is a powerful tool, it can feel overwhelming for new users due to the variety of features and customization options. Some advanced functionality requires additional licensing, which can increase costs. The reporting and dashboard capabilities are strong, but at times could be more intuitive and easier to set up without extensive configuration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet centralizes project management, improves team collaboration, automates workflows, and provides real-time visibility—helping us save time, stay aligned, and deliver projects faster.

What do you like best about the product?
We use it for almost every project at different stages — project plans, UAT tracking, issue registers, etc.
It’s easy to implement and can be saved as a template for reuse.
Supports real-time collaboration — multiple people can work on the same sheet simultaneously.
Convenient to share with others and keep everyone aligned.
Allows attaching documents, adding comments, and tracking everything in one central location.
Helps me stay organized and manage projects efficiently as a PM.

Some features differ from traditional spreadsheets, so it takes time to get used to.
No tabs like in Excel, which can make a sheet feel crowded when everything is on one page.
Cannot pivot data into tables or charts.

Problem: Tracking multiple project elements (plans, UAT, issues, documents) in separate tools or spreadsheets can be confusing and hard to manage.
Benefit: Smartsheet centralizes everything in one place, making it easier to stay organized.

I like being able to 'tag' other collegues.

Sometimes it is difficult to use as the formulars can be difficult to set up.

It provides an over view of our sales.
A platform for collaborative and adaptable project management
What do you like best about the product?
Project management and cross-departmental team collaboration are made simple with Smartsheet. I particularly value the spreadsheet-style interface, which is familiar but offers more automation, task tracking, and reporting capabilities than Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite its strength, there is a slight learning curve for new users of Smartsheet. Certain sophisticated features, such as dashboard setup or automation rules, are not very user-friendly. Additionally, it lags a little when dealing with complicated formulas and very large sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our task assignments and project tracking across several teams are made easier with Smartsheet. We had trouble with inconsistent updates and disjointed communication prior to using it. We can now keep an eye on ownership, progress, and deadlines in real time—all in one location. Because it enables centralized documentation and the automation of repetitive tasks, it is particularly beneficial for remote teams.

Smartsheet makes it easy to create clean, organized lists. It is like using a streamlined excel template, but simpler.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an experienced Excel user, the functionality is limited with Smartsheet. I am also not used to the hot keys, so it takes me much longer to create the sheet that I want compared to Excel.

- Lack of more integration options with other systems (e.g., time reporting tools, or synchronization options with Outlook for session scheduling).

Smartsheet helps us solve all the tasks for planning and tracking system implementation projects very effectively, saving us a lot of time compared to traditional tools. We highly value the ability to collaborate and share documents with users outside our organization (clients).
We miss having a greater number of predefined templates for project planning, risk management, or a larger number of dashboards for executive presentations and Steering Committees.

- Tracking cell history is sometimes cumbersome, as it displays everything together.
- Auditing Changes for reviewers is not easy.

Good but not perfect
What do you like best about the product?
multiple people can use the smartsheet at same time. Email notification. Reporting (allow people to update from the report, instead of the original sheet)

formula is not the same as Excel. also less formulas. Hard to troubleshoot formulas like Excel. cannot format the title
