Great tool for both team and project management and workflows.
What do you like best about the product?
It's a one-stop shop for all things project management. Our departments have been able to leverage many capabilities customized based on internal and external needs. Once you understand the platform's functionality, the tool is intuitive and easy to use. It is an excellent tool for our project managers and teams within all departments can access the information and data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet was introduced as a new platform for our teams. Because it is such a robust platform, it took some time to learn and understand how to use it, and it can still pose challenges when trying to navigate and find information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has provided our teams with a single place to house data and information. It has helped create consistency in where and how teams track their work and projects. We have been able to leverage the dashboard views internally and externally so we can ensure projects are tracking in the right direction.
Great collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Instant updates to our team, collaborating across multiple projects. Simple to use and quite comparable to Excel spreadsheets so our users find them quite intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The admin tool can be a bit cumbersome to use, adding users. We are going through a rebrand and we often have users trying to access, signing up for trial on their new email address rather than their original account address. Once we realise what has happened, when we go to add the second email address, it says it is already used by another account. If we are adding to a paid licence, it would be good if it is already on another account to have the option to perhaps send an email to combine the secondary email to the licenced account (and I imagine bring in any sheets with that email address, though for us that would not be an issue, our users are trying to access their existing sheets).
Further, I have used Smartsheets for about 8 years. I was married 7 years ago. I cannot get Smartsheets to update my name to SIMANDL not MASON and every time I add myself to a task it is trying to default to 'Jennifer Mason'. We also imported a data set many years ago of trades as we were running a construction project. There is no way to clear these out from our contacts unless this is completed one by one. We would appreciate the ability to delete many contacts.

Visualisation of team tasks for the integration of two building companies (merger).

Previously, we used the Gannt chart functionality on a commercial extension for an office (large project), and for building new homes.

Smartsheet is a very clean, useful tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great tool that allows me to stay on track. My team uses it to see what we have coming down the pipeline for our different clients and also to set project timelines to keep everyone on track
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be not very clear to navigate at times. The smartsheet dashboards that link out to other smartsheets can become confusing and allow a lot of the useful information needed to get lost in the shuffle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work in marketing involves a lot of moving pieces, so Smartsheet helps keep everything organizes and all of the different teams working on a project aligned and on track
Experience using Smartsheet to Manage Design Projects
What do you like best about the product?
There is only one file, no copies and everyone can access and/or edit at anytime from anywhere. Having the files in the cloud is beneficial when working remotely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some staff initially feel like they are getting micromanaged by using this tool. "Formulas" are somewhat tricky compared to other applications. More simple examples of how to do something in a general context would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows my team to quickly assign/transfer tasks to one another with a confirmed email/notice to all parties involved. Update requests are super helpful in gently reminding staff of priorities and coming deadlines.

Being able to share with users outside of the organization was super useful.
Including links to Jira streamlined the process
Being able to add a smartsheet snapshot to teams was helpful so access was easier.

What do you dislike about the product?
I may just not have the latest version, but being able to see the original due date versus the new and how things have changed is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration with our clients was huge. It helped streamline workflow and deliverables when files were needed from our client. We could also keep out conversations and follow up in one space. This was also helpful if there was any turnover.
Expecting more
What do you like best about the product?
I like many template options, as there is always something I can use to build from. I also like the easy integration of Forms within a sheet to collect the data
What do you dislike about the product?
A major downside is that there are no features to walk you through templates, formulas, or forms in a detailed way. Right when you log on, there should be tutorial videos available.
Additionally, having to pay extra for Resource Management tools is a downside, and should be included in the membership, especially when the RM tool is not as robust as MS project.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in inter-departmental communication with scheduling and project management. Being able to collect data in a Smartsheet and tag other users is beneficial to bring attention to critical tasks
A great team collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Our company works predominately remotely and Smarthseet has proven to be a great tool for tracking our project progress and keeping track of actions for our diverse team. We've also been able to use it to great effect with some of our 3rd party consultants
What do you dislike about the product?
Realtime editing can get sticky at times if multiple users are making changes to a sheet at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us track what each team member is doing to progress our projects. The Gantt chart visualization feature is particularly useful for monitoring long lead items and seeing what is on the critical path and it's file management feature is excellent for 3rd parties.
Great platform for sharing data and managing complex schedules
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the ability to create dashboards from scratch with very user friendly forms. The forms are also very useful for creating employee application or other employee related tracking services.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isnt much that I dislike about the product. It does a great job at what it's meant to do. There is always room for more integrations with specific systems or developing more features like the barcode scanning for inventory management.

Smartsheet assists with managing our busy job schedules, and making it very easy for crew leaders to find all they need before working with customers. It also allows easy data collection for employee incidents, feedback, kudos, surveys ..etc
Great collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy for everyone to access the same Smartsheet. There are never issues with the file being locked or many people using the same SmartSheet simultaneously. I love how cells can instantly be highlighted when changing the status. It is much better than Excel for collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
They do take time to build initially. I have not looked into any templates for starters, but I believe they need to be modified to get the SmartSheet exactly how we need it.

Quickly see who is assigned to what task. It is a great communication tool that is easy to update and keep current. It is also easy to share with partners outside of my company for cross-collaboration.
User friendly and very customizable.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the background integration with an "excel" type format. It is very user-friendly for people of all experience levels and can be tailored easily to different people and roles.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have a little more options in terms of pop-ups or reminders when something is changed or edited between reports or sheets that isn't necessarily sending to an email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is my teams main form of scheduling for the Engineering staff and the floor staff. It allows every member of our team to have their own schedule view while still collaborating on each project.
