Great for collaborating with clients.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to share information with a large group of people within our business and with external clients. The reporting features make creating and maintaining Dashboards effortless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is missing a few fomula functionalities that would be very helpful such as a Time function. In order to capture a specific time that a row is changed you have to send it to another sheet then use a vlookup formula to bring it back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is driving internal programs that deal with general housekeeping and safety. It also helps with time management and tracking employee tasks. We have Smartsheets specific to all of our clients that allow us to find issues and solve them in a timely manner.
Up and coming essential platform
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like the most about Smartsheet is how easy it is to use. The trainings were very insightful and let me use the application easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the email notifications as unless you title your project schedule specifically, it is hard to tell what the notification is for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problems of project schedules moving along and keeping projects on track. As well as holding all team members accountable for ensuring their work is completed on time.
Easy to get started & good value, some project functionality is limited
What do you like best about the product?
Since works like simple version of MS Project it feels very familar, but is much better for online & collaborative working. Like the fact it uses excel type formulas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the dependency and the baseline functionality is a little basic and requires slightly clunky workarounds at times. Would like the ability to build a timeline graphic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration & tracking of multiple projects. Project intake requests as well as forum for ideas & queries.
Smartsheet: Some benefits over Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows me to create sheets and share them with colleagues while easily controlling the level of permissions I want them to have in the sheet as a user.
It's also much easier to create dropdown controls in a Smartsheet workspace when compared to creating and referencing cells in Excel.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not use/allow identical formula language as Excel, which would allow direct exports from existing sheets.
You cannot resize column 1 as a user despite being able to resize the other columns, so it always takes up space on the screen.
Having to relearn how Smartsheet handles some of it's advanced processes can be tedious, so there are still many times I will simply create a file in Excel.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration across multiple files is improved with Smartsheet. Files don't get lost, and there aren't 10 versions of an Excel sheet clunking around to get people confused.
Simple and easy to use with lots of great features
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is very user-friendly and can be modified to your specifications. It is simple for many people to share and update the same sheets as needed. It has been an excellent tool for our smaller team to share information, and I would definitely recommend.
What do you dislike about the product?
For our purposes, there have not been any real drawbacks to using Smartsheet.

Sharing information effectively with the team in a smooth and efficient manner with less overlap.
Great platform for planning and recording project timelines
What do you like best about the product?
Compatibility with Excel, and therefore the ability to copy and paste directly between programmes. The overall view of all projects is also very helpful for our business
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure if this is a limitation with the software, or if it is just a functionality that we do not use, but I would like the possibility of linking financial information to rows within the timelines. For example % of an activity completed = xxx in revenue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has become the master reference for project timelines for my team, and the place where management go to review timelins on a per project level, and also to review all projects within the team overall, which helps with planning resoucre
Smartsheets a true enabler for everyday and structured projects
What do you like best about the product?
We are using Smartsheets to manage governance for a variety of project activities. We have managed to connect individual projects to a master tracker and configured smart dashboards and reporting as well as automations, for internal stakeholders, clients and 3rd parties to be kept updated with all associated tasks and outputs. I have personally used several products in the past, however as a team we clearly see the broader value of this product on our day to day activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to utilise more of the product ie resource management throughout the broader business, however license costs is a constraint to extend to every user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love the fact that all the related objects are interconnectable and that you can drill into detail from reports and dashboards with out the need to navigate to different pages.
Quite useful and easy to navigate
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using SmartSheet as it is user-friendly and intuitive. It is a fast and easy way to work on the same document with multiple colleagues without having to send and resend the document via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I do not like about Smartsheet is the use of Filters. For some reason, sometimes the filters do not work very well and can be a bit annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to keep my files online, easily reachable and accessible from anywhere. It is very helpful to simply share a link with whoever I wish to collaborate with, instead of sending the document via email which I found cumbersome. This also helps keep track of the latest version of the document, I do not need to check if my document is the same as my collaborator's, since we are both working on the same document online.
Easy to manage a lot of stuff at one place
What do you like best about the product?
One view page with all informations. Click on anyone and go inside to see details. Task cam be updated and submitted to close from the same sheet only. Awesome !!
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerts even if the job is not above in priority order. Alerts even when you are off the job. It should sense from the login into the computer whether the person is available to see the alert or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It does not allow to forget, which is a very good thing. It allows you to manage the projects, Task, Portfolio and entire work. This has been very helpful (though at times irritating due to continuous alert) in completing the jobs methodically
Versatile and user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very cost effective, easy to use and versatile. The most enjoyable facet is the ability to edit and redesign on the fly simply and quickly. Ease of integration is also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Understanding what Smartsheet is about and what it's designed to do there isn't much I dislike. There are small things that I can do on Excel that don't carry over to Smartsheet that would be helpful (Hiding rows for example) but I'm sure as these things are requested they will be implemented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the flexibility to created and automate the information in a tailored way for me is fantastic, Also the ability to share information in multiple ways in an easy to read format is highly regarded.
