What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily track the files and tasks, including their statuses, and reference the changes that each cell has gone through. It helped a lot having the answers for questions by the Business Team regarding latest status/changes.
Smartsheet Review
What do you like best about the product?
The ease and accessibility to viewing the status of multiple projects on the go. This works great for planning purposes within our team and allows all staff the same visibility of our current and upcoming projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of our team is new to Smartsheet. So trying different approaches not knowing all functionality becomes a bit of a problem. It would be nice if there was a hub/forum where training and webinars were made available to all users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking multiple projects and deadlines. There hasn't been a tool that we have been able to use that is as efficient as Smartsheet. It allows for future planning as well and knowing how much we can commit to upcoming projects (internally and for clients).
An In-Depth Review of a Versatile Tool for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
A flexible and useful application, Smartsheet provides a number of features to improve team collaboration, project management, and data analysis. As a regular user of Smartsheet at my workplace, I have discovered it to be a really beneficial tool that has streamlined our work processes and increased productivity. Here are some of the main characteristics that distinguish Smartsheet as a unique tool:
Collaboration:
The collaboration tools in Smartsheet are among its best qualities. Team members can collaborate in real-time, give comments and feedback, and assign tasks and due dates using the platform's central workspace. This makes it simple to maintain consensus and guarantee that initiatives are progressing without hitches.
Project Management
The project management tools in Smartsheet are also quite helpful. It is notably useful to visualize project deadlines and dependencies using the Gantt chart view, and creating new projects is made simple by the use of adaptable project templates. The resource management tools can also be used to assign team members to specific tasks and monitor productivity.
Data Management:
The data management tools in Smartsheet are likewise exceptional. The system provides an adaptable spreadsheet interface that can deal with a variety of data formats, from straightforward lists to intricate databases. Structured data gathering is made possible by custom forms, while data analysis and insight generation are made simple by conditional formatting and formulas. The fact that Jira and Salesforce are integrated with Smartsheet makes it simple to sync data between platforms. Which can be ventured more in the future in our case.
Analytics and Reporting:
The reporting and analytics tools of Smartsheet are also quite helpful for producing insights and tracking performance. The dashboards give a high-level overview of important parameters; however, further in-depth research is possible thanks to customisable reporting and data visualization options. Monitoring particular metrics and data changes is also made simple via alerts and connections with programs like Tableau and Power BI.
Customer Support
Whenever I have had an issue or question about using Smartsheet, I have been able to easily access their support team through the platform's online chat or email support. I have found their support team to be highly responsive, with most inquiries being answered within a matter of hours.
Overall, Smartsheet is a highly valuable tool that offers a wide range of features to help teams collaborate more effectively, manage projects efficiently, and analyze data with ease. As someone who uses it on a daily basis, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their team's productivity and streamline their work processes.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet has many useful features, there are also some downsides and areas for improvement that users should be aware of:
Pricing:
The cost of using Smartsheet is one of its main drawbacks. Although the platform has many features and functionalities, some organizations, especially smaller teams or businesses, may find the pricing to be excessive. Also, the pricing system is quite complicated, with various plans and pricing tiers dependent on the required features, storage space, and the quantity of users.
Learning Curve
The learning curve necessary to utilize Smartsheet efficiently is another possible issue. While there are many aspects of Smartsheet that are obvious, there are also other complex features and settings that might be challenging to learn. For teams who are unfamiliar with project management or data analysis, this might be especially difficult.
Customization:
Although Smartsheet allows for a lot of customization, some users might perceive the platform to be constrained in some ways. For instance, there are several formatting options that are either unavailable or impossible to use without a workaround. Comparative to the web version, the platform's mobile app similarly offers restricted capabilities.
Integrations:
While there are numerous platforms and tools that Smartsheet can integrate with, some users might discover that their favourite programs or services are not supported. This can make it difficult to link and distribute data among many systems in an efficient manner.
Performance:
While dealing with huge datasets or challenging tasks, some users may encounter performance challenges with Smartsheet. When working under pressure to meet deadlines, it can be unpleasant when the platform takes a long time to load and periodically freezes or crashes.
Pivot Chart:
One of the primary differences between Smartsheet and Excel is the ability to create Pivot Charts. While Excel offers this functionality as a built-in feature, Smartsheet requires an additional add-on called "Pivot App" that comes with an additional fee. This can be a disadvantage for users who frequently use Pivot Charts.
Combo Charts:
The ability to generate Combo Charts is another capability that Smartsheet does not have natively but which Excel does. A line chart and a bar chart, for example, are two different chart styles that are combined in this type of representation. A limitation for certain users may be the inability to build Combo Charts, despite the fact that Smartsheet does offer a variety of chart formats.
Formulas:
While Smartsheet does offer a variety of formulae, it might not have all of the same features as Excel, which is known for its powerful formula capabilities. Smartsheet may not provide all necessary complex or specialized formulas, which could be a drawback for users who need to perform sophisticated computations.
Automation:
The degree of automation offered by Smartsheet and Excel is another significant distinction. While Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and macros can automate Excel, Smartsheet provides more robust automation options due to its interfaces with other programs and platforms. Users that want to automate data collecting and processing across many platforms may find this to be advantageous.
Smartsheet is still a strong and useful tool for project management, data organizing, and collaboration despite several restrictions and drawbacks. Teams wishing to simplify their workflows and boost productivity will find it to be a great solution thanks to its user-friendly interface, rich feature set, and integration potential. Some users might miss specific Excel functions, but Smartsheet's distinct advantages, such its automation features and collaboration facilities, more than make up for any drawbacks. Overall, Smartsheet is an excellent project management application that I wholeheartedly endorse to anyone searching for one.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Streamlining Project Management:
Our team was handling numerous projects utilizing a variety of platforms and technologies prior to using Smartsheet. As a result, there was a great deal of confusion and inefficiency because team members frequently worked in silos and communication problems were frequent. We can now combine all of our project management efforts onto one platform thanks to Smartsheet. This has made it possible for us to strengthen teamwork, track progress more effectively, and streamline our workflows.
2. Organizing data more effectively:
Managing enormous volumes of data across numerous spreadsheets and platforms was one of the main difficulties we had prior to utilizing Smartsheet. This resulted in mistakes, inconsistencies, and time wasted trying to find information. We can now efficiently organize and track our data thanks to Smartsheet's robust data management tools. Our team members' accuracy, decision-making, and workload have all improved as a result.
3. Enhancing Collaboration:
The absence of efficient collaboration tools was yet another significant issue we encountered. Our team members used email, the phone, and face-to-face meetings to communicate before Smartsheet. This frequently caused misunderstandings, poor communication, and delays in the completion of projects. With the help of Smartsheet, we can now work together in real-time, share files and comments, and designate tasks to particular team members. As a result, our teamwork has increased, our communication has substantially improved, and our error rate has decreased.
Overall, Smartsheet has been a game-changer for our organization. By solving some of our most pressing problems and enhancing our workflows, it has helped us to work more efficiently, reduce errors, and improve collaboration among team members.

Project manage like a pro!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to keep updated with projects and the team members involved. I can see real-time updates and contributions from the team members. I love that I can quickly send an email reminder without needing to exit Smartsh and identify who I need to speak to based on the cell audit log. I enjoy pulling my data into a visual representation for my meetings that quickly and easily summarizes the data for quick updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some expansion with import ability. Primarily around the size, I can not use Smartsheets for all my projects based on the size capacity. I find the filter function time-consuming and would like to see that simplified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to have a central place to collect data and collaborate with team members globally. The ability to quickly ask for an update and view the information in one spot frees a lot of time and allows me to use my time more productively elsewhere!
Collaboration at its BEST
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to collaborate with multiple departments and team members within your organization. While spearheading a new startup school, I created a sheet that enabled me to assign tasks with start and end dates, status updates, etc. This sheet became vital to our meetings throughout the year-long startup process and kept us on track. It was an effective and efficient tool to have access to for such an in-depth project.
What do you dislike about the product?
A colleague recently requested a duplicate copy of one of the Smartsheets I created. Though I figured it out, it was not set up as simply as I had hoped to go in and make a quick copy. I eventually realized I had to create a template for the sheet for her to make the necessary edits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet keeps me on track with time management, project management, and effective collaboration. These are all areas where I have struggled in the past, so having this all-in-one tool makes it easier to keep track of everything in one place. I know exactly where I am and where my team members are in each project area.
Newer user, but pleased and excited to expand knowledge
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use - works very similar to an excel spreadsheet, but with additional features and automation. Although, I am still fairly new to using Smartsheet, I find it is to use and look forward to increasing the capabilities and my knowledge
What do you dislike about the product?
Perhaps I don't yet have the training and knowledge to understand the full capabilities, but currently, it seems like a fancy excel sheet and in the Grid View I have had difficulties tracking more complex projects (with many sub-tasks)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet works to enable our entire team to work cross-functionally to track projects, tasks and owners. We have pre-set filters to remove completed projects and are able to track projects at a high-level, but I am interested in learning more about how to better structure our tracker to enable more clear sub-tasks.
A bit of a learning curve, but powerful
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how smartsheet allows you to create a custom solution for managing many crossfunctional workflows across multiple roles, departments, or organizations. I've been able to create multiple solutions for the teams I work with to help them manage their work and processes more efficiently and work together more collaboratively.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about smartsheet is the learning curve of the software. It's easy once you understand it and get some practice, but it can be difficult to introduce new users to a solution I've created to manage their work so that they are able to maintain and manage it after I'm done on a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many teams with many individuals working from different places, so it can be difficult for everyone to be on the same page regarding work progress, to-dos, or other key action items. Smartsheet has helped us coordinate efforts and increase collaboration across our teams.
Great for teamwork and company collaborations.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can create various types of sheets to help your direct team or even forms that can be sent to other departments of the company thah will evidently help the entire organization with all the collaborations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is very user friendly and has a great user interface for all people to use whether your experienced or not with tech, but I would like to see some of the basic and more often used features to be easier to access or seen on the main selections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving problems in many aspects for individual tasks to entire project management and is doing so all in real time. There is no need to go back and forth and wait because multiple people can adjust anything live and get the work flow going smoothly.
Smartsheet in Teacher Preparation
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheet to onboard and track all our teacher education students. Smartsheet helps us manage both data and documents; the attachment feature is tops! We've gone from 3-4" thick files for each candidate filling 7-8 file drawers to a single file drawer with files holding only critical information.
We use multiple forms to gather data from candidates, supervisors, and school partners.
Smartsheet was just the tool we needed to go paperless. It has made us much more efficient!
We use multiple forms to gather data from candidates, supervisors, and school partners.
Smartsheet was just the tool we needed to go paperless. It has made us much more efficient!
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is such a powerful tool that it's challenging to learn everything it can do. We are sure there are features we could use to extend our efficiency, but a) finding time to learn, and b) finding the tutorials or guides is not that easy. We rely mostly on another power-user on our campus, but that's not a good use of her time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had trouble finding a collaborative way to share placement information across 3 employees who needed access to the information. In addition, we needed a way to gather and store data for state and federal reporting purposes. Smartsheet was a solution that allowed us to meet those needs at a relatively low cost.
Utilizing has helped to increase productivity, define responsibilities, and enforce accountability
What do you like best about the product?
Most helpful part of utilizing smartsheets, is being able to lead a project from a central location for all stakeholders. I like to equate utilizing smartsheets as the same as creating an outline for your rough draft you, you see all your points and sources in the same location, and you are left with an amazing starting point. It makes it easy to see a project all the way through, and beyond implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The templates in SmartSheets are meant to be helpful, but often don't incorporate template for the various types of task that can be supported. I am often tasked with creating my own template to follow specific to the healthcare operations industry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of collaboration across service lines and remote versus in-office staff is mediated by this centralized location allowing for proper collaboration with minimum inconvenience or confusion to the team members supporting the project.
