Smartsheet is a phenomenal project management software!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is an amplified and higher-powered form of Microsoft Excel with many built-in features (task assignment, in-line links to files, progress tracking) that make project management a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not think there are many downsides to Smartsheets. Compared to other project management tools, I think it holds up on most fronts and excels on others. We use it all the time!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Smartsheets in our organization, we had disparate means of tracking project progress and ensuring that tasks were completed. After building out our Smartsheet portfolio (which was not difficult at all), we can now easily assign tasks to specific team members and track their progress. This feeds into an overall project management portfolio and allows us to stay on top of everything as a team and highlight areas where more assistance is needed.
Straightforward and Intuitive system with just a few potential fixes needed
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to add tasks and for following tasks to be automatically update if the added task is a predecessor is a great feature. No need to go back and change the predecessor numbers manually. The customizability of the task items is a great feature
What do you dislike about the product?
Only a few items that I do not like; firstly, the gantt view is non-adjustable, meaning I cannot zoom into the timeline or zoom out to view more of the timeline. Secondly, If I am trying to scroll to the left on my trackpad, the system thinks that I am going to the previous webpage and automatically boots back to the dashboard. Lastly, I wish there was an easy way to provide summary reports without too much effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets allows to easily view dependencies, which as a project manager, one is very aware of them, but being able to see them and watching the effect of their timelines changing is a great feature.
Smartsheet, a great collaborative, easy to use platform
What do you like best about the product?
It is veri intuitive, easy to use, you don't have to be a software developer or an IT guy in order to set up great workflows, dashboards, reminders. It integrates with other apps too, and the email reminders it sends, and the forms, are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
For an IT/developer, the platform has many limitations when trying to perform actions using big amounts of Data. There are also many restrictions on Column manipulation, and specially, when creating links to other sheets. This is normally a very manual process that wastes a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrative collaboration, easy to use. It is benefiting me because we are a startup company, with not so many developers working on it, so we use Smartsheet as a framwork for other simpler developments.

With Smartsheet, I can easily create a custom workflow for my projects, assign tasks to team members, set deadlines, send out e-mail notifications, and track progress in real-time. The platform also allows me to automate routine tasks, freeing up time for more important work. The intuitive interface makes it easy to use, even for those who are new to project management tools. The ability to collaborate with team members in real-time, using comments, alerts, and notifications, has significantly improved communication and coordination among my team. Overall, Smartsheet has been a game-changer for my business, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their work processes and be more productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometiems the interface isn't the easiest to navigae, or to view what I need to at once without scrolling horizontally, so it can be time consuming and arduous. But some of the issues may be attributed to the way we implemented it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to enforce a workflow for tracking tasks that require multiple inputs and approvals, and it has made a huge difference in terms of efficiency and accuracy. The platform's email notifications and alerts also ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals. It allows us to manage input and approvals efficiently and effectively.
Smartsheet is smart, but takes smarts
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the interactive aspect with that of my colleagues & being able to add them to different sheets. The ability to use premade templates, along with having the quick user guides, helps to save a bit of time when creating a new project. Having dashboard is helpful as well for combining multiple sheets together and highlighting important information in a visual way. The work apps are also a nice component to have when sharing multiple deliverables with team members and/or clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that has taken the most time for me when using this software is learning all the capabilities provided. Thankfully, there is Smartsheet university to answer many questions; however, I'd like to have recommended courses or references pop up when I open a new feature in the software. Another dislike I need to mention is not having an interactive visual aspect to the calendar view- when planning content out, I'd love to be able to move things around in this view and not have to work around strictly the grid guidelines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefit of Smartsheet to my team is that we can all collaborate on the same project without having many distractions or complexities. The automation tool is helpful for reminders, alerts, or update requests. The different levels of access when sharing also helps to control others' ability to edit different aspects of a particular project. From project management to workflow management & ease of communication, this tool has been valuable to have on-hand!

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has a lot of features that make it easy to organize information for project management in a collaborative way. I appreciate that it can hold detailed data to create overviews with dashboards. The Smartsheet app is a nice new feature that makes it much easier to access multiple tabs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet had the ability to have multiple tabs for one Smartsheet, similar to Google Sheets. I would also like to see more templates. This would save time on creating automations. A downside is the amount of time I have had to research how to create reports, use conditional formatting, connect with Outlook, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Smartsheet app has helped make it possible to view multiple tabs without having to go back and forth. It is helpful that it can connect to other apps, including Outlook.

Smartsheet helps me keep track of all my projects, timelines, and activities. It is also user-friendly and has a short learning curve. The spreadsheet-based system is familiar to those who use excel but is easier to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I would call a downside to smartsheet. It would be great if there were a function catalog in the help area. There are things that I figure out through trial and error. If there were a function catalog, I would find solutions more quickly.

Smartsheet helps me keep track of our annual timeline of business activities. We've kept our business on track and realized increased efficiency in our operations. The dashboards that we're able to build are a high-value feature that our Board of Directors uses to make informed business decisions.

SmartSheet starts where you need it to and scales to where you need to go.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy for non-project managers to pick-up because the interface is very familiar with common office programs. That ability for contributors to pick up quickly and begin contributing makes a big difference in gaining traction in dynamic settings. Once contributors are actively entering information, administrators can leverage the intuitive reporting, calendaring and connectivity functions to get multiple levels of stakeholders what they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would recommend as a user implementing in a dynamic, non-project-manager-stakeholder environment is the ability to easily view others' access permissions in a visual way. Being able to "switch" to another user category easily and test what those users can/cannot do would be helpful. Otherwise, I constantly find more usefulness instead of barriers, which is fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet solves the "common source of truth" problem within our department. We layer on accountability, project tracking and calendaring and the uses are expanding, daily, from there. I'm getting new requests for connectivity and functionality on a weekly basis.

Smartsheet is a better Excel. The automation capability is a great feature.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sorting is not very capable in Smartsheet. Sorting affects all users of the sheet. I also dislike the sheet selection dialogue where I have to click through folder names to get to the sheet I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the things we do with Smartsheet is to track changes to different systems. All users can add entries to the sheet and are notified of changes. The pick lists and cell formatting gives us uniform data from many users. Our change management form became so much more useful when Smartsheet gave us the ability to use pick lists.
