What do you like best about the product?
I like the collaboration tools in Smartsheet best, particularly the comment threads, notifications, and real-time updates. These features allow team members to communicate updates directly within the sheet, reducing email clutter and improving visibility on project progress. This functionality promotes transparency and streamlines collaboration, making it especially effective for coordinating across campus departments or working with external stakeholders like employers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The greatest challenge for me with Smartsheet is its cost, especially for a small team in higher education. Smartsheet's pricing is a significant barrier for my small team with limited budget. There are 4 full-time members of my office and student workers. Often times, we have to find a way for student workers to access the platform without creating a new username for them to assist with a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is effectively solving the problem of task and project management with its robust features for task tracking, including deadlines, owners, and dependencies. This functionality allows teams to assign responsibilities for key initiatives, such as hosting events, conducting coaching sessions, or launching mentorship programs, ensuring clarity in ownership. By promoting accountability and keeping everyone on track to meet deadlines, Smartsheet helps streamline workflows and improve team productivity.
Easy for me to track the tasks
What do you like best about the product?
Visualize the work, and team members can work on the same project management tracker.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loading time sometimes could take longer than 20 sec.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To me, it's a replacement of MS PM tools, or other tools. Colleagues can living update their work status. And, the integration with Jira helps as well.
Useful but you may not need it if you have Outlook365 full license

1. Centralizes tasks, updates, files, and comments in one platform, offering real-time collaboration and visibility for all stakeholders.

What do you like best about the product?
The filtering capabilities and being a new user it was fairly intuitive to use. I like that I can set up alarms and add notes which is helpful when you have so many people working in the same sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be a bit slow and clunky at times. However we do have it connected in quite a few outside sources, a lot of users as well as constantly updating info in the sheets.

Our team collaborates on projects and smartsheets allows us to work in place, making changes in real time.

What do you like best about the product?
Working with Teams on shared projects and the availability to calculate costs. With a link to Jira it makes it possible to add stories in Jira from smartsheet

The costs of the Atlassian interface, although there is a cheaper alternative available

The dashboards are very helpful for our supervisors to get a quick snapshot on our data.

It takes time to learn and this makes it not as accessible for all team members.

We are able to see all of our statistics and data in one place. This assists the team when working on projects and towards goals.
Good Collaborative Solution for Business Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet offers a way to have live, active collaboration between team members. The sheets and forms are very intuitive and easy to use! In addition, more advanced features like dashboards can help visualize data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to collaborate with or share sheets with those outside of our department or organization.

Good tool for PM
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows my team to easily collaborate from anywhere, and gives our customers the sort of data reporting they want. It's not difficult to learn how to use the platform on a basic level and there are plenty of resources to learn about the more advanced features. Data shuttle has been very helpful in reducing manual data entry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formulas are tricky and don't function as one would guess. Data shuttle and other functions don't play nice with hyperlinks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet's Data Shuttle has been very helpful in reducing manual data entry and reducing data errors. It also reduces duplicate entries by letting us share data with our customers and vice versa.
Useful for project management and planning, but small improvements could increase usability.
What do you like best about the product?
Fairly easy to use and intuitive, in some cases moreso than excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to send automated emails to individuals outside my organization

Keeping tracking of all projects and workflows in one place that is accessible to everyone. I also really like the dashboards feature for pulling out important details.
