Smartsheet is very helpful for project scheduling and showing the critical path.
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartsheet is its dependency/predecessor functionality to be able to show the critical path clearly and illustrate impacts to the project schedule.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's so much functionality that I and my team don't know how to use that I think sometimes people get bogged down or distracted or try to create a tool that's too complex rather than keeping it simple, easy to use and understand for all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating project schedules and showing the critical path clearly.

Powerful but without much support
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to assign tasks to employees and auto-notifications when trigger points are reached.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of on-site training for new users. The only support is through the Smartsheet University and the online community of users who post questions and answers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is providing one place where all users can view real-time data and multiple people can be linked to a task and notified as conditions are met.
Helpful for cross-department planning
What do you like best about the product?
Nice to have a visual tool to help plan and identify dependecies easily when work needs to be completed between multiple groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes linking sheets to one another takes a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working as an engineering manager, I do part of the work then collaborate with other teams to complete builds and testing. SmartSheet helps coordinate this work.
Good alternative for advanced worksheets
What do you like best about the product?
Automation of worksheets based on customized parameters.
What do you dislike about the product?
The linking between sheet data could stand to be enhanced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It brings some of our internal worksheet usage into the cloud. It allows us to utilize notification automation which helps during worksheet changes and workflows for next steps within a process.
Honest Review
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to pull data onto a sheet from another. There isn't a need to intricate functions you'd otherwise write using excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how there aren't a lot of sorting options. It's either asecending or decending. It would be useful to add more customizable sorting features

It is easy to manage and create task lists for various teams.
My Smartsheet experience
What do you like best about the product?
It is an easy and intuitive interface, I probably appreciate the ability to easily notify users when a task is due most. The dashboards are super configurable so that is also a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not easy to cut and paste in smartsheet from other applications. Smartsheet is also not context aware so that if I copy and paste repetitive subtasks, the system does not update the predecessors based on the parent task that I paste into. It is also frustrating that excel scripting does not always function in SS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to have a consistent PRoject management platform and reporting. Having stored templates and being able to spin up a project that already links to the management dashboard is beneficial.

I have found a lot of value using the automation of data requests.

Ease of generating documents from data in cells.

Automation of data requests and a centralized database to store information.
A Cohesive Method for Organizing and Tracking Data
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is easy to share and view. The alerts to line changes helps keep focus and productivity levels up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some formats cannot be changed like other spreadsheet softwares. This can be overcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows for structured, online, team collaboration and management. This allows input from members across state lines and the organization that is required on big projects.
Smartsheet as part of an architecture office workflow
What do you like best about the product?
Developing schedules is intuitive and quick, its easily sharable with staff. The connection to miro is great but it would be better if information could be pushed more smartly to smartsheet and be integrated into the schedule directly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kanban is cumbersome and not well integrated into the schedule functionality. The new color across the interface seems fairly cheap now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General scheduling and Kanban task distribution.
Great for collecting data but no intuitive.
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheets to collect data from grantees awarded funds by our nonprofit. The software is super powerful and robust and enables us to collect a lot of data and compare that data across years. The ability to create free guest portals for each of our grantees to review their data is a lifesaver and one of the primary reasons that we continue to use this software even though we are often frustrated with some aspects of the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is not intuitive at all. We've paid for help from Smartsheets setting it up and troubleshooting issues as we've gone along and sometimes even that is not enough. We are a small team without tech backgrounds but would consider ourselves spreadsheet superusers. Smartsheets is way beyond a spreadsheet and the way data connects doesn't always make logical sense. There are some things, even after paying to have them repaired, that still aren't funcitonal with no hope of us ever resolving them ourselves. Even after using our system for multiple years, if I had to go in and set up a similar one from scratch, I couldn't do it, which is unusual for me when I learn a software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets helps us collect data from dozen of our grantees each month. This is a process we've sometimes done more manually in the past, so this is very helpful. We are also able to compile and share this data back to grantees in the form of a portal where they can access their submitted reports, budget standing, etc.
