simplicity for automation helps in form creation and tracking the fields

Use Smartsheet to keep track of Employee's CE Requests.
What do you like best about the product?
Most of the automations have been helpful. We are able to have employees request get sent directly to their leadership team for approval. The filters are also helpful to isolate the information I need. I do like the "Insights" graphs, however, with large data, I wish we could download the graph, print them or make them bigger.
What do you dislike about the product?
In order to make reports that fit my needs, I need to create different sheets and bring the data together. I can't create a pie or bar graph by selecting certain columns, it has to be the whole sheet. Unfortunately I would have to create many different sheets to get the graphs I would need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a company that is 85+ hospitals big. We use Smartsheet as our request, approval, and tracking system. Our employees fill out a form with the details of their request, which sends it to their leader. Their approval or denial will trigger an email or another automation. Using Smartsheet has made it easier for us to keep track of these requests in an organized manner.

The way smartsheet helps us stay organized with all of our projects. It keeps us on task and allows us to collaborate with each other for a successful business.

Bringing everyone up to speed on how to use, when to use, and how often to update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us to collaborate better as team, get on one accord and move in the direction of checking off tasks. We feel good about where we are with it though we need some additional room to grow and develop using the additional features.

Smartsheet is a very intuitive tool - it's simple to navigate and generally user friendly.
There are hundreds of templates available and their training tools, online videos and help guides are easy to understand and helpful for self-service.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't set-up your project workspace correctly from the start, it can be difficult to link worksheets, reports, and dashboards in the future.
One nit-picky issue I have is Smartsheet doesn't auto-save changes. I'll sometimes forget to save changes and will exit the browser, accidentally losing my changes because I'm so preconditioned to auto-saving.

We primarily use Smartsheet for Project Planning and Gannt/Project Plans. It's easy to use and update.
Smartsheets is the best for robust timeline needs!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets has been extremeley helpful in creating timeline templates for recurring projects (ie. New Product Launches). The Predecessor function is what was missing from other project management software, so I think that has been the game changer that my team was looking for. We are quickly able to see the impact of shifting due dates with the critical path feature, so it helps in quick discussions and cross team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish Smartsheets was more user friendly. It definitely has a learning curve, and requires dedication to figure out how to build out projects how you want it. The dashboard feature is great, but I have really struggled with how to set it up in a way that would be most helpful. I don't like that when you want to update a template, you have to basically use the template to create a sheet, make the updates and then resave the template (aka you cant edit templates directly).
To people who are not project managers, the system can be very overwhelming to look at and cause teams to not want to use it (slower integration + adoption).

We use Smartsheet as a service request database where any employee can file a request. Automations really help with notifying employees of progress and completion of their request

What I have found as the most useful tool in Smartsheet is that the project management tools are extremely user-friendly. Also, the flexibility -whether managing small tasks or complex projects, Smartsheet's customizable workflows, real-time collaboration, and seamless integrations make it easy to tailor to any team's needs. The advanced reporting and dashboard capabilities provide valuable insights, and the platform scales effortlessly as projects grow. Overall, Smartsheet has been great! It boosts efficiency and enhances team communication, making it an indispensable tool for managing projects and driving productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback is that it can become overshelming as complexity increases. For larger projects or teams with numerous sheets, the platform can feel cluttered, and managing dependencies across multiple sheets can require a lot of manual effort. However, I think this can be fixed on a project management level and managing the team, morese than the platform itself.

It has helped me with disjointed project management and communication by providing a centralized platform where tasks, timelines, and collaboration are all seamlessly integrated. It eliminates the need for juggling multiple tools by offering customizable workflows, and real-time updates, which help me track progress and manage accountability. This benefits me by saving time, reducing manual work, and keeping my team aligned, ultimately improving efficiency and making it easier to manage complex projects with greater visibility and control.
