Abilty to add attachments to each and every row.

Smartsheet for Clinical Research Operations
What do you like best about the product?
I like using Smartsheet to keep track of hundreds of individual projects that my team is working on at any given time. I like that everything is customizable, and I like using automations to move completed projects to a different spreadsheet. I also frequently use the filtering feature to see which projects are assigned to me specifically.
What do you dislike about the product?
Visually, my list of projects looks very cluttered. It would be great to have a different-looking spreadsheet, i.e., be able bucket and view my projects based on priority, difficulty, label, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problem of keeping track of all of my projects. This benefits me so I don't "lose" my projects into the ether (I immediately add emails, documents, etc. into the attachments too so those don't get lost).

ACCOUNTABILITY - ITS NICE NOT TO HAVE TO HAVE TO REMEMBER WHAT A CO WORKER NEEDS TO DO IN ORDER TO FULFILL AN ORDER. ITS ALL THERE IN BLACK AND WHITE
What do you dislike about the product?
I DON'T LIKE THE NEW VERSION OF SMARTSHEETS. LOOKS HARDER TO FIND THINGS. PROBABLY NOT USED TO IT YET.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
EVERYONE IS COMPLETELY AWARE OF WHAT STAGE AN ORDER IS IN AND IF SOMETHING IS REQUIRED, YOU ARE REMINDED TO GET THE JOB DONE.
SmartSheet has revolutionized so many of my processes
What do you like best about the product?
I love Smartsheet! I use it daily and it helps me keep track of and on top of numerous components of my job. I've always relied heavily on Excel and Google Sheets in my work, so having an advanced version of that where I can add comments and create workflows with notifications and update requests has really helped me to enhance my processes and eliminate some of the manual steps that I was taking in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I cannot have multiple tabs within a sheet, that I can't send attachments in an Alert (ie: Message only PLUS attachment from Generated Doc), - mostly minor things that I sometimes come across. As an employee at a university, the design of SmartSheet does not always seem like it was crafted with my industry in mind as it is often project management/sales minded in design; so sometimes I struggle to see how a template could be applied to my work or how a feature might be beneficial to what I am trying to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has automated many of my processes - particularly those in which I need to obtain data from external sources, and then respond to that data in a templated manner.

Smartsheet is a valuable but pricey tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like all of the possibility that Smartsheet affords. There are many functions and solutions available with Smartsheet and for the most part, it is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Add-ons needed to make a fully automated solution are very expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us manage our projects, schedule many meetings and manage crossover.
Works well for contract tracking.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to send emails to multiple people regarding updates to the row you're working on. Easy enough, as it's like working on an Excel spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it's easy for others to access your row within the sheet. It could be altered or even deleted. Additionally, you tend to remember your row number, but if someone inserts a row above yours, your row number changes and that throws you off. Especially if there are over a thousand rows.

Having one central program that multiple users can track the same project on.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is pretty cool for its flexibility and ability to handle various types of projects and workflows. One of the standout features is its user-friendly interface that combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with powerful project management tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet offers a lot of flexibility, this can sometimes lead to inconsistencies in how different teams use the platform, potentially making it harder to standardize processes and maintain data integrity across the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customization and Flexibility: The platform’s flexibility allows me to tailor it to my specific needs, whether managing simple tasks or complex projects. This means you can create workflows, dashboards, and reports that fit your exact requirements, making project management more efficient.
The product definitely has potential but some of the features have cravats
What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are lots of options for data sharing and visualization. There are a number of new features that seem really good and I can't wait to use them. The option to add approval steps and addition of files within sheets is also useful. I haven't used this product long enough to say much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The forms - They are diffucult to set up, the logic functionality is very limited, even when specific options in the form are turned off respondants say they are on when they go to fill out form, example I need to turn off Captcha for forms being filled out in China, even though I have this turned off everyone one from that region struggles to submit as Captcha just randomly turns on and off. I feel some of the functionality of this product hasn't finished cooking and needs more time on the oven.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None currently but hopefully we will use this product more in the future
Smartsheets - the good, bad and ugly
What do you like best about the product?
Great tool for live saving of documents and creating logs of data. We have used it internally for a few years now and have recently added many of our team members with the addition of Enterprise and Data Shuttle. It's been great as a repository for storing information with applicable documents. Since it functions very similarly to excel the ease of access was great as well for the transfer of formulas and overall data. Additionally, since we utilize Sharepoint for many of our automated workflows and Smartsheet talks to Sharepoint via automation, it's been great to share with external users, not to mention allow access to limited areas with the user and group permissions. Finally, the best part is that our end users have little to no issue accessing what they need and it's easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The access to support is less than idea. Customer support is also not very helpful when you reach out. For example, we were trying to implement enterprise and paid for it months before we could actually use it because support was unable to assist with our IT department security settings - they'd simply send an article from their support desk that wasn't very helpful with what we needed. When we finally did get it implemented we found it was a simple naming convention that was case sensitive we could have been using for months - so we paid for a service we couldnt' even use for almost a half a year. Another downside is the automation on Smartsheet side; while Sharepoint has great automation with run records, if you want that kind fo data in Smartsheet it simply doesn't exist. The recorded data is also difficult to track becuase it's not available to search by row or user; simply by date parameters. They're doing a lot to enhance the LOOK of the platform but not the actual functionality. Then the final issue is with pricing - they're changing the pricing structure this year to be per user instead of per license and it's an exorbitant increase.

Gives access to external users that our organization works with so we can share data with limited access and security!
Overall my experience with Smartsheet has been positive.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves the problem of not having project visibility in real time. This allows us to be on the same page as a team and take actions when appropriate.
