Centralized and shareable view of our projects portfolios

  • July 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it offers one central view not only for my team who can therefore update theirs projects and look at what their teammates are doing but also with our leadership team and stakeholders who can follow live the progress of our project. It brings a self service approach that we didn’t have before
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe a little bit more automation in the creation of dashboards would be welcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It brings one central view for me, my team, my leadership team and my stakeholders. They can self serve and follow the progress of our projects without having to reach out directly.

A practical, user-friendly tool that makes reporting, filtering, and collaboration easy.

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve found Smartsheet to be a really solid tool for managing projects and workflows. One of the things I value most is how easily it pulls reports from multiple sheets — it makes tracking and consolidating information across different parts of a project surprisingly simple and really powerful.

Filtering is another area where Smartsheet shines. It’s intuitive and quick to use, but also flexible enough to handle more detailed views when needed. You don’t need to be an expert to find what you're looking for, which really helps when working across a team with different skill levels.

What I also appreciate is how Smartsheet manages to walk the line between being functional and user-friendly. It offers a lot of features, but doesn’t feel overwhelming or bloated. The learning curve is gentle, but there’s still plenty of depth for more advanced use.

A small but very useful detail is the ability to drop attachments directly onto a row. It’s such a simple feature, but it makes a big difference — everything stays connected and easy to access, without having to dig through folders or emails.

Overall, Smartsheet just works well. It’s helped streamline how we manage information, collaborate, and stay organized across teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
While sheets are live, they don’t handle simultaneous editing very well. If multiple users are working on the same sheet at once, it’s easy to accidentally overwrite each other’s updates. It’s something to watch out for, especially in fast-moving teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Next steps, Responsibilities and Next Target Dates are live and transparent, and the workflows sends periodic reminders to the team members on the responsibilities. This mitigates the need for manual follow ups

Digitalise your paper forms and requests

  • July 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I primarily use Smartsheet to digitize both our internal and customer-facing request and order forms. As a leasing company, it's essential that the process of ordering a vehicle, fuel card, or charging fob is as seamless and efficient as possible. A smooth and fast customer experience is critical to our business.

We also interact with drivers daily, so minimizing the number of calls and emails to our customer support team is a priority. This allows our team to focus on delivering quick resolutions and positive outcomes.

One of the features I appreciate most about Smartsheet is how easily forms can be integrated into both our own and our customers’ intranet or digital environments. Any updates made to the forms are applied instantly, which helps us stay agile and responsive.

Overall, I find Smartsheet intuitive and user-friendly. Creating forms and dashboards is straightforward, and implementation is quick and hassle-free.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am yet to understand how to integrate Smartsheets with Salesforce. Hopefully this will streamline things like customers requests queue management for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminating paper forms
Automating customer requests
Saving time to customer support function

Key for Streamling Processes

  • July 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It acts as a funnel for information for our team. I mostly use it for forms, which significantly reduces back and forth communication via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer Service will ask you for a list of screenshots to "help" with automation, but then someone else will ask for the same list. They do this until you're too tired to continue, so they never actually end up helping.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as a document library, where we can have folks upload documents to the form with a few questions for classification purposes. It also allows us to ensure we have all of the information we need up front and it all comes through the form in the same format.

Overall useful tool

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to create forms based on sheets, the ease of sharing and allowing multiple editors. I haven't used it much aside from grid form.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to create multiple sheets within one file
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my purposes as an administrative assistant, the form is incredibly useful for getting information from people in a quick, organized, and efficient matter. Having a link that allows people to open the form and then populates the information into a table saves me a significant amount of time and energy.

Smartsheet Experience

  • June 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the capability to create simple forms/sheets that can later on expand to complex projects/processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The sheet row/data limitation and the upcharge for features such as data shuttle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping to consolidate our data and get our organization off relying on loose excel files that end up being lost in the abyss.

I have been using Smartsheet for almost 20 years. I have seen it grow and change some good some not

What do you like best about the product?
Parent child relationship
per line data storage and communication
workflows
Available anywhere, sharable
What do you dislike about the product?
Poor per cell control like colors fonts and other very standard Excel capabilities

Cost

over simplification of the UI and constant changes ... at a certain point simplification becomes confusing... we're all adults here not in grade school

I want a button and i want a description of the button and a full menu of capabilities to picjk and choose from as I see fit ... not some smartsheet designers next iteration of the UI because that's their Job ... Its a tool I use and I get tired of guessing how to use it because you changed it AGAIN
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are a design group ... but NOT digital design or Marketing (which I feel Smartsheet forgets that the world is not actually digital or all about marketing)

Smartsheet allows me to track a portfolio of projects and collaborate with both stakeholders and labor. Smartsheet's ease of use has gone down over the years IMO because of confusing and oversimplified UI. I don't need or want AI or 3rd party integrations forced down my throat or forced into the work styles that Smartsheet thinks everyone needs to be in.

Templates are good ... but see above

Great and keeps getting better

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is not low-code but no-code making it easy for project managers to create their own automations of notifications and requests for updates. Therefore, the project plan can pro-actively notify the project manager of tasks that are nearing risk of becoming past due and those already past due. Likewise, the project plan can push requests for updates to assignees whether they have a Smartsheet license or not. Even where you do not want assignees to see the project plan, they can respond with status updates for their specific assigned tasks. Filters, conditional formatting, the different views (Board, Card, Gantt, Grid, and Calendar), reports, and dashboards enable the project manager and PMO to present data in multiple ways for different audiences without having to re-enter data - it all comes from the same single source. Roll-ups from the project plans to the PMO level for snapshots of progress of all progress is not difficult via dashboards. Harder is getting the individual project managers to temper their creative streaks renaming columns breaking roll-up reports. I use the Jira connector as well for automated creation of JIRA tickets to triage by our Product teams. Synchronous updates are pushed back to our integrated Smartsheet and copied out to individual projects to provide near real-time updates on UAT defect reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a big fan of the helper columns required in order to see and use Summary fields in formulas.
I wish that the Jira connector passed Comments/Conversations and attachments from Smartsheet to Jira. It currently does not.
Smartsheet seems to follow the SaaS model of continually improving and expanding the product, yet expansion is an upsell, not part of the baseline product. Improvements in the baseline product seem to fall more in the line of adding new formula possibilities. However, I admit that I do not read the details of every new release.
Because of add-on prices, we are looking at Zapier and other options for integrations.
The few times I have used support, it has been underwhelming. Your experience may differ. Instead, Smartsheet has a vibrant community, and people try to help each other there. The answers there tend to be faster and less tedious to get to a solution.
Sometimes the platform is slow to load and times out. When I opened a ticket, I got what seemed to be an auto-response advising me to check the ports, VPN, provide a HAR file, etc. It was working fine the day before and earlier today and now doesn't. It wasn't worth the time to pursue. Shortly thereafter, it was fine. It reminded me of "Have you checked that the computer is plugged in."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet enables internal and external teams to collaborate on a project with full and real-time visibility into the status of the project.
