Smartsheet versatility across the business
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet's greatest strength lies in its versatility and adaptability. The platform offers a broad spectrum of tools for managing our projects, tracking work, automating workflows, and fostering collaboration.
Its UX friendly interface, combined with customisation options, empowers users to tailor the tool to their specific needs. This flexibility allows XD to streamline operations across various departments and functions.
Additionally, Smartsheet's integration capabilities have enhanced its utility by connecting with other business tools in use across XD.
The use of AI (albeit limited in capacity) also supports our users in their daily use of the system.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet's versatility is commendable, its complexity can be a significant drawback.
The platform's extensive feature set necessitates a steep learning curve for new users. Moreover, the interface, though customisable, may not be as intuitive as competing solutions.
Some of its features, such as data shuttle, are limited in its usefulness to our organisation due to its complexity.
Furthermore, the pricing structure can escalate rapidly based on the number of users and required features, making it a costly investment.
The lack of native api (other than docusign) in generation of documentation and syncing with other software means that more complicated bospoke apis are required addinging to its cost.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet primarily addresses the challenges of project management, workflow automation, and data collaboration.
By providing a versatile platform, Smartsheet helps us:
Centralise project management (bringing project information together in one place improves visibility and coordination), enhance workflow efficiency (automating routine tasks saves time and reduces errors, allowing teams to focus on more valuable work), improve data collaboration (sharing information seamlessly across teams to better decision-making), streamline operations (by centralising information and automating processes, we've reduced operational bottlenecks and improved overall efficiency) and has increased our ability to be agile (the platform’s flexibility allows us to adapt to changing business needs quickly).
However, the platform's complexity, limitations in certain features (like data shuttle), and high cost can offset some of these benefits.
Overall, while Smartsheet has proven valuable in addressing specific organisational challenges, its effectiveness is tempered by these limitations.

SmartSheet Helps Tracking!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been instrumental in helping our company track dates - anything from annual reporting to date-sensitive deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has over the past year had many alerts that it wasn't working properly. I don't think it ever affected our scheduled reminders, but it was sometimes unsettling to see others were having problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps by having the ability to link a document to the reminder and the ability to set multiple reminders for multiple individuals.
Better than Excel.
What do you like best about the product?
The modern feel on a spreadsheet product is a relief when other products are not user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of customizability in look is unfortunate
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating reports on timeline completion.
Robust But Not As User Friendly as other PM Tools
What do you like best about the product?
Seems to have good customer service, robust for more technical needs
What do you dislike about the product?
The spreadsheet interface feels clunky compared to the UI of an Asana or Monday. Doesn't feel like the best option for a smaller team with less complex projects or just task management overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Informs other business stakeholders about upcoming marketing campaign dates, organizes many launch dates
Docs-based tool to ease team financial decisions
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive, simple and customizable tool for purchasing and financial planning. Helpful for wide, heterogeneus teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes sharing features doesn't work perfectly and sheets get lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can see at a glance themain programs my extended team is working on, filter, share views etc. It's a project management tool for me.
A versatile platform that provides the needs of big organisations.
What do you like best about the product?
Creating forms that will easily and clearly format briefs sent through by internal departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
My team and I sometimes share a sheet and when 2 or more users are in there, it takes a bit of time for live updates to refresh.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We receive a lot of briefs from internal departments so using the WorkApps has been a lifesaver in that it is easy to edit, there are less human error and "accidental deleting". I really enjoy the ability to format these workapps/briefs in a way that makes sense to my team and internal departments.
Smartsheet helped manage our multi-client marketing projects
What do you like best about the product?
We integrated Smartsheet into our marketing department several years ago after struggling to manage our multi-client workflow through email requests from other departments. We created a content calendar for each client and set up automated work flows to alert channel owners of incoming requests. It completely alleviated the need to rely on email requests and search through email threads for relevant information. The departments we worked with were able to input their requests quite easily into our forms. My favorite feature was the automated emails letting the appropriate team members know when new requests came in. We also used the sheet for project management across our societies as information is easy to filter by client and generate links to share with other teams. Smartsheet really helped our efficiency and process management and improved the functioning of our department and how we partner with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
One challenge we did have with Smartsheet was reminding users to save their changes as saving is not automatic. At the start we had other teams feel frustrated with inputting requests and forgetting to save to have them not get on our list of deliverables. Some members of my team also hoped that there would be more project management and collaboration tools for smaller task management segments within a project that could integrate into the program. That said, I have yet to find a tool or platform that can handle all needs of a marketing department well -- especially one that serves multiple clients and products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helped us automate our processes and procedures across departments and clients, allowing us to be more efficient and not lose track of requests from other teams. It consolidated cross-department content into one uniform tool so we could effectively manage our deliverables.
Great for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use/user friendly, ability to use various tools within one sheet, I really like the drop down menus that you can use for statuses within the spreadsheet
What do you dislike about the product?
can be some clunkiness when it comes to creating dashboards, have yet to master this part of smartsheet but would really like to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
project management, timline management, keeping track of tasks and progress - this all helps to keep tabs on everyones work and updates
Effective Collaboration Tool for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a powerful tool for collecting, organizing, and presenting data over the course of a project. The multiple display functions help visualize information in different formats making the program more accessible for various members on the team. The ability to utilize the data to create charts and track progess is helpful in producing progress reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is not particularly intuitive. Even for individuals with familiarity with Excel or Planner. The program takes some training to understand and utilize. One of the drawbacks, as compared to Excel, is that Smartsheet does not allow two sheets or tabs in one file. It would be helpful to have a sheet with the raw data and a sheet with any graphical output in one file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps people across our organization collaborate, manage project deadlines, and track progress. The program acts as a central repository during a project where in the past, projects lacked effective tracking mechanisms.
