Smartsheet has made intake for our team more efficient
What do you like best about the product?
The form creation ability has made the intake process for our team more efficient as well as using automations to coordinate with a variety of internal teams regarding the data received.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there should be more design options on the form creation process, without having to transition to dynamic.

Smartsheet - The way forward for collaborative working
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is best for teams who want the flexibility of a spreadsheet but need project management structure, automation, and collaboration in a scalable platform
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is powerful but can feel “too spreadsheet-like” or rigid for teams wanting dynamic Agile workflows or deeply customizable visuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Attach files, link to cloud storage, or add notes directly to rows.Keeps all project data, assets, and context in one place, reducing siloed information
Powerful collaboration tool for streamlining workflow.
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet at work and find it very useful for managing tasks and collaborating with my team. It's easy to assign work, track progress, and stay updated in real time. The templates and automation features help save time.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is how cells behave compared to Excel. For example, when copying and pasting data, Smartsheet tends to overwrite cells instead of shifting them automatically like Excel does. Since most of us are used to Excel, this difference takes some time to get used to. I’d really love to see Smartsheet adopt more Excel-like behavior for smoother data entry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet at work and find it really helpful for keeping our team organized. It provides transparency over the workflow, making it easy to see what stage each project is at. This helps a lot with collaboration and coordination across the team.
Using Smartsheet for project management and as a data source of truth
What do you like best about the product?
It's so much easier to use, and a lot more intuitive, than Excel. The interface is clean, and I appreciate being able to put together sophisticated dashboards quickly. The automations have also saved me a lot of time chasing people for individual updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish Smartsheet had a tab feature where, similar to Excel, a sheet could contain multiple tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving our need for a centralized, reliable source of truth across teams. We use it to manage client portfolios and dashboards, streamlining how we track program performance and share updates. It also powers key internal workflows, like client billing and resourcing, through WorkApps, giving us a flexible but structured way to manage data at scale. Having everything connected in one platform has improved visibility, reduced duplicate work, and helped us maintain alignment across the business.
My review of Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I am able to create task lists for myself and data capture forms that I can share with my coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I cannot remove the primary column. I know it is a minute issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to aggregate information from the respondents without them inundating me with emails.
Using smartsheet for sustainability efforts at construction company
What do you like best about the product?
I like its interconnectedness potential. It is great for data collection and having multiple users fill out forms that have data aggregated in the same place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was not involved in setting up the forms and have had some issues trying to figure it out after the fact.
It is not clear who our account manager is, and it would be great to have easy access to them.
It is not clear who our account manager is, and it would be great to have easy access to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us track fuel use and product use on a few of our larger projects that are too big to track manually.
Great tools
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet stands out for its user-friendly interface, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced users. Setting up automation is straightforward, allowing for efficient task management and notifications. Additionally, creating dashboards for project tracking is intuitive, providing clear visual insights into progress and key metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite its strengths, Smartsheet has some limitations that impact its functionality:
1. Column Limitations: The restriction on the number of columns in a sheet can be a hindrance for complex projects requiring extensive data fields.
2. Cost of Features: Certain functionalities, such as external workspaces, come at an additional cost, which feels restrictive as these could be included in the base package.
3. Pivot Table Shortcomings: Unlike Excel, Smartsheet’s pivot tables lack robust multi-criteria filtering, limiting their analytical power.
4. Form Functionality: Forms require API coding for auto-populating columns, which is cumbersome. Additionally, the inability to limit dropdown options based on other column selections reduces form efficiency.
5. Limited Dashboard Interactivity: Compared to tools like Power BI, Smartsheet’s dashboards offer limited user interaction, such as selecting date ranges or applying filters, which would enhance data exploration.
6. Workflow - able to attach the attachments with "message" setup.

Smartsheet works like web-based Excel with easier formatting and data collection.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create reports quickly and user input forms for data collection. Additionally, the ability to have multiple users in the same sheet with no risk of data corruption is key
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest gripe is that when you're viewing a sheet and another user sorts the data differently, your screen will update with the new format. There are ways around it, typically by setting up reports for your view instead of viewing the sheet with the raw data. Also copy & paste of data out of Smartsheet is not as clean as Excel, the formatting is often lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping the team on the same page with one place to view what work is being done, due dates, and progress notes. This saves making multiple phone calls or sending emails to check status. The ability to attach files to each row is also hugely beneficial saving you from going back to a file folder system to search for key files.
Extremely useful cost effective tool for a variety of use cases for our business!
What do you like best about the product?
We are able to utilise smartsheet for simple use cases like approval requests where we use the comments for a collaborative approach. Up to using the kanban view for project management. It is a very useful cost-efficient tool compared to competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing can be a bit pricey depending on the users that will be utilising smartsheets and what they will need to do with the tool. But all in all it is a very competitive product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Is it solving the need to buy an expensive dedicated project management solution, and we have used the tool since rolling out MVP of our current implementation of Salesforce, and we are still using it for Post-MVP enhancements. It is also being used to quickly spin up collaborative worksheets.
