Smartsheet: Great for Collaborative Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet stands out because it empowers both managers and team members to take control of their workflows without the need for coding or technical complexity. It’s more than a project management tool—it’s a work execution platform that brings visibility, accountability, and efficiency to any organization.

What do you dislike about the product?
Steep Learning Curve for Advanced Features: While the basics are intuitive, more advanced functions (like cross-sheet formulas, automation, and reports) can take time to learn and may require training. Sometimes also the time loading gets complicated if the sheet has many items
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster and more organised Project Management, also the collaboration within the teams, makes it easier

What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration is easy with real-time updates and sharing across many individuals. The dashboard keeps the tracking of multiple projects at your fingertips.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be cost inhibitive for a full use license. An Enterprise license in lieu of individual licenses may be a better model for large companies asking more and more teams to use this tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With cross company teams all working/contributing to the same project, Smartsheet makes it easy to share, update, and collaborate with real-time results. No guessing whether you are working off the latest version.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful tool for our organization is the is the forms feature! We use this feature to help gather data on our farm and capture harvest data and automatically upload that data into usable pie charts to display to our bord of directors. We use this feature every day multiple times a day! Is much easier to actually get data and use daily. it's easier to use for our team that excel or google sheets because it allows us to make super user friendly forms for our team who may not have skills in computer work or data entry
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside in my experience is that other organizations don't seem to know what Smartsheet is and have some fear about it. But that's not really a problem with your product. I'm still educating myself on all the ways i can use this tool in our nonprofit but so far it seems like a great fit for us!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem we had was having all of our data spread out between to many tools. When we needed to submit reports or gather spesific data it just seemed top take longer than it needed to. Now its much more central and we are migrating our data/systems to smartsheet.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is that it keeps everything in one place, all while giving real-time visibility across teams. The automation features save time and help ensure the right people are notified without constant follow-up. It makes managing safety and operations more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
While we’re not yet on the new user subscription model, I’ve reviewed the changes and have concerns—especially around users needing to be a Member just to make basic edits. It feels like it could lead to unexpected costs and confusion, based on what others have already experienced.
Im also not a fan of the dashboards. I love the realtime data but dont it lacks flexibility. I found it better to use Power BI.
Theres also a lot of wishlist items that when I look in the community have been requested for years and yet smartsheet still doesnt have. I dont have those on top of my head.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problem of duplicate manual entries and disconnected processes. It’s helped us reduce the time spent entering the same information in multiple places by centralizing our safety data. We’ve also been able to automate many tasks that were previously manual, like sending reminders, assigning follow-ups, and updating logs. Which has improved efficiency, reduced errors, and allowed us to focus more on proactive safety efforts.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the dynamic views and automation workflow set ups the most. I have used them quite a lot in my company to provide dynamic overview of reports and to send alerts to relevant parties for approvals and review.

What do you dislike about the product?
A few product suggestions:
1. It would be great to have grouping in dynamic view. Right now there is no way to group columns in a dynamic view
2. Bulk import of contacts in a user group
3. A way to drag an attachment into a row of a sheet instead of uploading it from a saved location

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project collaboration has really improved by using Smartsheet, our team is able to track and manage tasks efficiently. We are also able to send relevant alerts to the external clients and keep them up to date with the project progress
Dashboards have helped us present our important metrics and info to the teams involved

Invaluable tool for businesses of all sizes
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet for several years and my favorite functionality is the ability to integrate directly into Microsoft Teams. My current company and my previous employer were both MS organizations so this integration was key. This allows me to really drive adoption due to ease of access to the information as needed. For example, I can do all of the setup and architecture if you will directly in Smartsheet and then simply imbed the sheets and dashboards to the respective MS Teams channels. This helps streamline the whole process and ensure the right folks are getting quick and easy access to the information most relevant to them. I also love the automations which the possibilities are endless, but help take some of the more tedious follow-ups out of my day-to-day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will say that Smartsheet is quite robust and there is a lot to learn. I was able to really dig in and take my time learning during the pandemic which was helpful as all projects were stalled at my organization during that time. The knowledge center is a great resource but there is a lot of manual configuration in the beginning that must be completed. The other downside for me is that everything is also an add-on. It's quite frustrating to attend a webinar only to find out that is an additional cost for that functionality. It would be best to disclose that upfront before even registering for the webinar to determine if it's even worth exploring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, it is solving the need for transparency and fostering cross-functional collaboration as well as assisting in keeping the teams organized. In order to continue to grow and scale those are all things that we need to be successful in.
Smartsheet for Platform/Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I can nest goals and action items under collapsible lines. This is especially useful when working with a stage-gate process where new goals are constantly being added. It helps keep the screen neat and manageable. It is also useful for managing platforms where the projects are all very similar and have a lot of overlap- I don't have to have multiple files or workspaces for each individual project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't bold or highlight specific line items, I can only change the entire cell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company uses a stage gate process for project management and each stage has it's own goals. I can separate each stage into a collapsible line in smart sheet with their respective goals. This keeps the page neat when we move on to another stage but also accessible if I need to go back and review something. Smartsheet helps layout our milestones and track progress and to-dos in a way that's easy to look at and manage.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows you to build project plans and dashboards in a way that aligns with your brain. It helps you structure your thoughts, visualize progress and run different levels of project meetings efficiently hence why it both supports and empowers me in my project manager-role.

Some of the editing options of fields and headers are limited, but that is truly my only slight remark
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating the different levels of project management, from task lists, to Gantt-charts, to milestone, to dashboards, to steerco's - it facilitates you on all levels.

Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
I prefer using SmartSheets to stay organized on my program vs using Microsoft Project. I enjoy breaking it all out so that it's all in one place, making it easy to keep track of the work and allowing my boss to review my progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not always intuitive, and sometimes I don't realize things are an option until I speak with another peer or take a class on how to use it properly. I would love to receive pop-up suggestions or ideas on how to fully utilize it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all the nitty and griddy parts of the program in one place and tracking the status of my program, including receiving additional mods.
