Great for Project Tracking, Maybe Not Full Development Cycle
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet exceeded my expectations when used for phase gate and readiness checklists, or when organizing projects and assigning stakeholders. It is far more featured out of the box than Excel, and has a place if a project management app like Asana is overkill.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to have visible and meaningful discussion and updates within tasks of a project. In new product development, I typically like a solution where the entire team can "live inside" of the management app. This does not work for Smartsheet as it does not give a good UI for linking live documents, folders, media, and allowing for highly visible conversation on tasks and subtasks. This is not necessarily a knock against Smartsheet, it merely doesn't line up with exactly what I want to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are many requirements when transferring a product from R&D to manufacturing, and Smartsheet allows templates of these transfers to be made and deployed as new chacklists and dashboards for each product in transfer.
An easy to use combination of Excel and Dropbox
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an incredibly easy to learn, use, and edit application for tracking and documentation. As a project manager, it allows seemless editing and updating of information from multiple team members at once. I constantly use the app to build and refresh my templates and trackers. SmartSheet integrates easily into my toolbox, and allows teams to easily implement schedules and activities that have been planned far in advance. While I have rarely faced any issues with the app, other members of my team have spoken quite highly of the lightning-fast and accurate response from the customer service team.
The drag and drop nature of almost all of the information encourages you to organize virtually the entire layout to your liking. It could not be easier to simply open a template, reconfigure as needed, and deploy a brand new sheet. While it is VERY similar to the mechanics of Excel, this should not be viewed as a negative. All of the complicated algorithims of Excel are made crystal clear and easy to use.

What do you dislike about the product?
The key downside I have with smartsheet is not the app itself, but the limited number of licensed users on the standard license. I would like to expand my administrators to more than 6 without having to pay for an extended license. Small negative, but worth noting if your team is quite large and needs the full functionality of the app.

Organization and tracking have always been difficult or unwieldy; SS cuts through the faff with user-friendly tools.
Useful tool for team collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been such a great tool for our teams to keep track of issues, collaborate on client projects, and keep financial data organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more font options for each cell.

We are utilizing smartsheet to track issues with our clients, keeps track of our monthly workflows, and project managment.

multiple user functionality. email receipts function. other Excel type functions that you dont need to know coding for.
Smartsheet Use Case Review
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet for the past three years and it has proved a good platform for project reporting through the dashboards. It is very convenient as it allows collaboration on documents and the various webinars on product improvements are very critical in continuous improvements and usability of Smartsheet.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit heavy on the PC at times. The licenses are a bit on the high side
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows us collaborative reporting on projects and allows us to manage related projects that have interdependencies. It also allows us to easily coordinate as we are not colocated. It also assists in flagging non-performance of projects
Great project management tool for small to medium complex projects
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and ease of use for beginners and enough flexibility for advance users.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI design is rather old fashioned, mix of various apps inside is new look vs old look. Some features are not well designed or thoughtthrough.

Primarily intake of new project initiatives, launching new projects, overview of all projects, project management on a daily basis.

Helps with communicating and putting project milestones in a location to easily recall and update for other team members to check. Makes it easy to hold accountability.
Great for Project Management and Forms
What do you like best about the product?
As a newly hired analyst, I needed a tool that would allow me to organize projects in a easy card view way that was highly customizable. I also needed to create a form for analytics requests. SmartSheet was a tool my company used and it was a no brainer. Super easy to set up and very easy to customize and interpret.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd say the biggest thing for me is the functionality with certain formulas. As an Excel power user, I have a lot of flexibility when it comes so writing formulas to do tasks. While the automation is great, I need in sheet abilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smart sheet is helping me stay on task with a workflow pipeline. I am benefiting because I can stay more organized. I also created a form and that allows me to view submissions for future analytics projects.
