What do you like best about the product?
Being able to attach files and add notes, and being able to share with multiple people.

Smartsheets is Our Go to Product
What do you like best about the product?
In my school district, Smartsheet is a tool we use often in HR and across multiple departments. It helps us manage retirements, payroll, wellness programs, external professional development, and much more. One of the things I appreciate most is how easy it is to set up and customize. Creating a sheet takes little time, and it gives us the structure we need to keep everything organized. Smartsheet has made our processes more efficient and improved how we share information across the district.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike and it maybe user error, is not being able to stop people from using the sheet when the deadline has passed and I do not want late submissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped solve a big issue around keeping everything in one place and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Whether I’m managing a project, tracking tasks, or coordinating workflows, it allows me to see the full picture and the small details at the same time. In HR, we juggle a lot—retirements, payroll, wellness programs, and professional development—so having one platform that supports project management, daily work, and team accountability has been a huge benefit. It’s easy to use, quick to set up, and gives me the flexibility to adjust as things change. It keeps everyone aligned and helps me stay on top of deadlines without chasing information down.
Smartsheets is a pleasure to use, easy to navigate and look professional.
What do you like best about the product?
The Filter and Form functions make it stand out and one of the main reasons i choose to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to export more than 100 photos on a sheet to PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing the completion of jobs.
Way better than excel and easier than MS Project!
What do you like best about the product?
Its intuitive UI makes it easy to setup and configure sheets and most importantly it makes it easy for occasional users to still get value from Smartsheet. One of the main reasons we chose Smartsheet for our projects rather than MS Project because we didn't want to spend a whole heap of time training someone in Project when their interaction with the project was only occasional and minimal. The cross sheet linking was invaluable as was the ability to create dashboards and reports from multiple sheets with ease. We were working a global project with multiple people in multiple locations, and it was used every day by all teams - it was our project source of truth. Being a cloud based system everyone has easy access.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were few downsides. We were using it for project management so some additional features for that function would be useful - e.g. Better capabilities around planning tasks "to the minute" rather than to the day. We did manage to find some formulas to have smartsheet calculate hours and minutes but it was convoluted.
Would also be good if the gantt view could also zoom in to be more granular - i.e. in 30 minute blocks - lowest granularity at the moment is day. When trying to use smartsheet to manage runbook execution of a large set of interrelated tasks which run 24/7 - we need to be able to plan to the minute and display it easily on screen.
Being able to regenerate "baselines" on a subset of tasks rather than the entire sheet would also be great. We had the situation where we had tasks baselined and in progress (and tracking against baseline) and then needed to add further tasks - it would be great to have an option to update baseline only for tasks without a current baseline. As well as an option to 'select the rows' to update.
Also, allow for auto generation of multiple baslines. I know you can remove baselines and copy the columns manually to achieve the same result, but the gantt chart can only compare against the current/active basline.

Refer to the previous comments. The key problems smartsheet solves for us is
a. Geographically spread teams: Being a cloud product we didn't have to install expensive "server or enterprise" products to give everyone access without the need to send copies around and end up with multiple source documents. To that point - better handling of timezones would be good.
b. Guest Users: We had quite a few of guest or occasional users - being able to give them access to view and make rudimentary changes to a smartsheet without the need to manage expensive licensing policies was one of the best things about smartsheet.
c. Less IT literate team members - not all people interacting and participating on the project were super IT literate - so Smartsheets easy UI meant that we didn't have to spend a bunch of time and money training people up.

Unavailability of resource balancing tools on tier of plan.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps my team project manage and keep organized so that nothing is missed and everyone is clear on roles and responsibilities.
Innovative collaboration tool for project management.
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet has helped our team to coloborate and work effenciently on projects with real time interactions. Sending raw data via email back and forth is tedious and time consuming. Smartsheet works the front line in order for your team to collaborate in real time, managing your time effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have noticed some kinks in data rentention with Smartsheet. I have recently been on a project for over a year, using the same sheets and data throughout. I have noticed some of my initial data (rows) that I unput from the beginning have gone missing. This has not been a frequent issue but repetitive a handful of times that I have had to manually correct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has benefited my project by enabling me to have data retention in one singular place instead of multiple files. Also, the ease of use and data sharing function across sheets have proved beneficial.
Advanced tool for complex data sharing and management
What do you like best about the product?
It's the best tool I've found so far for project management - allow us to embed rich media and information in 1 place and create complex project management templates with dependencies and the timeline updates automatically without manual update on each individual tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI/UX can be improved so it's more user-friendly and less intimidating for new users.

Advanced project management tool integrating spreadsheets format with rich media & information embedded directly into one template so it's clean, organized and easy to access additional information.
Very useful and customizable for our team
What do you like best about the product?
I loved that it was cloud-based, has a mobile app, and easy to maneuver around most pages and sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile-app had limited features, and sometimes when you had a large amount of data, it wasn't as easy to maneuver or jump in and out of sheets. The loading would take a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resident management at various homeless shelters. Having a one-stop site that we could use as a dashboard to see details of census, age breakdown, etc.
