Versatile Tool with a Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the versatility that Smartsheet provides. It allows me to create an inventory of tasks needed to accomplish my goals and track progress using different views like table view, board view, and Gantt. Smartsheet provides the tools to customize project tracking and create different views or dashboards to share with clients and providers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's interface is neither intuitive nor user-friendly. If you are not familiar with the platform, it can be very cumbersome to start using it or to check dashboards or reports. The learning curve for users is rather steep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us set goals, track progress, and flag potential bottlenecks in projects. It offers versatile views like table, board, and Gantt, allowing us to customize and share dashboards with clients.
All-in-One, Well-Organized Spreadsheets with Easy File Uploads
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I’m able to add files directly to the spreadsheets. Along with pulling the data to create boards, it feels like an all-in-one, well-organized product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do feel the dashboard is a bit complicated to understand. I would have appreciated simpler, short video tutorials that show how to build a successful dashboard and pull the data correctly.

Organization between colleagues
Fast, Intuitive Dashboards That Adapt to Your Team
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet's dashboard adjusts to the user preferences and visual style, helping teams to improve their workflows without forcing each user into a format. The tool works fast, so there's no time lost there, and the overall platform is very intuitive, so onboarding is a smooth process.
What do you dislike about the product?
As is often the case with platforms that integrate multiple functions, getting the most out of Smartsheet means working across several tabs or frequently toggling between menus. Because of that, the overall experience doesn’t always feel fully integrated, and it isn’t the easiest to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet in two ways, as a time tracker and a to-do list. In both cases, it allows me to work fast, switch between tasks, keep in mind the work ahead and check how my team is doing. And all that in a time-saving manner. By the end of the week, the tool has learned what tasks I have been working on, and selects them for me, so I don't have to look for them in a long list. That's a small feature, but incredibly time saving.

Centralized, Trackable Content Sharing That Beats Outdated Excel Tables
What do you like best about the product?
Sharing online content that can be tracked and used by multiple users across different roles. All relevant information for these roles can be stored in a singular location, each user just refers to data relevant for them. Tracking function is useful for projects and assignments opposed to outdated excel tables. Help articles are easy to find and refer to for support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating new workspaces can be time consuming when setting column types according to needs. Sometimes I feel like I don't utilize the full capabilities of the platform as I'm not aware of them i.e. integrating with other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to share information live. Needed a location outside of locked team folders to share relevant information to other teams, this allows us to do that.
Flexible Reporting with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Smartsheet for its flexible, excellent reporting tool that goes beyond the basic spreadsheet capabilities. The alerts are very helpful in ensuring we don't miss any council capturing, which means no complex is ever without electricity. Once we got past the tight initial setup, using Smartsheet has been smooth, and there's been no looking back.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like if we, as users, also had the function of deleting and not only the superuser.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to record municipal accounts for all our complexes. The alerts help us avoid missing council capturing, ensuring no complex sits without electricity.
Turns Data Sheets into Multi-Level Workflows with Clear Dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to turn data sheets into multi-level workflows, supported by dashboards and visualizations that make interpretation quick and simple for users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more generally available options for incorporating dates & times into worksheets. It is nice to have the available timestamps that Smartsheet offers, but it would be better to have customizable date & time formulas that could be used to measure the time between workflows- An important metric when measuring between operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’ve used Smartsheet to build simple ticketing systems at a couple of organizations. It’s a convenient way to intake information and then use that data to customize workflows, without having to rely on IT to create a solution.
Exceptional for Managing Large Employee Databases
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet for organizing structure and details across our internal teams and clients. I like the long-standing list that includes employee dashboards and birthday reminders, which help me not miss birthdays. It also aids in understanding which employee and client work in which division or product, as well as their role and location. This clarity helps me understand my company's workforce and client organizational chart better. I would highly recommend Smartsheet for companies needing to manage employee information across hundreds of employees.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to organize our internal and client structures, clean up data, and keep track of employee roles. It helps me not miss birthdays and provides clear understanding of workforce divisions and roles.
Clear Gantt Charts and Dependency Tracking in Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Good overview of Gant charts and registration of dependencies between tasks and releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Resource planning is lacking. It could be added, but advice from Smartsheet was to only add that expensive feature when at least 10 resources should be managed. This is way more expensive than Microsoft Project. So, I can't really see if resources are maxed out with all the (release) tasks that have been assigned to them.
Smartsheet is less suited for Scrum type of projects. I use Jira for these kind of projects.
