Amazing tool to help demystify your engineering operations

  • August 08, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How well it integrates into our entire workflow. It's amazing how much information we can glean from Jellyfish, everything from high-level metrics, to cost cap.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the DevOps metrics are still a bit unrefined. UX and nav can be tricky and wish we could get some of the views from the top level down to the team view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It reports on everything from where our engineering resources are being spent, cost capitalization, engineering efficiency and effectiveness and overall operational health.

Highly Recommend Jellyfish to get Key Engineering Insights

What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish provides a lot of data that we don't/can't get from Jira. It offers a lot of great visuals, with drill downs to get to very specific details. It provides every level of data we need, from highly-aggregated info about our whole engineering department, to info on a specific team's performance, to info on specific sprints/tickets. Our point of contact (Lane) is AWESOME - she's super knowledgable and helps us with everything we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jellyfish is very configurable, but a lot of it must be done by Jellyfish. It's not a big problem because Jellyfish is very responsive, but it would be nice so we don't have to bother our point of contact. The user management is a bit cumbersome and slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We get detailed performance metrics on our development teams so we can coach them to improve. It ties together data from several systems to give us one holistic picture. We get a consistent set of metrics across all teams, regardless of tech stack. It gives us valuable aggregations that are not possible in Jira (rollups based on custom fields, investment allocations, etc). All of the data/metrics have drill-down options so we can get to the tickets involved and cleanup/organize as necessary.

Engineering Program Management

What do you like best about the product?
Provides visualizations sliced and diced in many different ways. Provides evidence for Software Capitalization.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no downsides to using Jellyfish - but it does require that engineering maintain good jira hygiene.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides the ability to see what teams are working on and the progress that features are making. Visualizations are the key!
Getting the information and evidence Software Capitalization is huge for the engineering managers.

Valuable data mining

  • August 08, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Data is collected and analyzed from existing development activities without the need for special data reporting. It figures out what's happening on its own. The intelligent prediction of when a project will finish is incrediblly accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX could be improved a little bit. But it's a fairly new product and I understand that they are focusing on the more important part of the data analysis, which is the actual secret sauce. I assume that the UX will improve steadily over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It shows us distribution of work: Features, tech debt, maintenance, etc. And it also reports on the real dollar cost of all work being done. So we can see how much money is being spent on each type of work. This gives tremendous insight into how the expensive R&D resources are being used. It also allows easy automation of reporting on capitalizable expenses.

Jellyfish helps you keep on top of your team metrics with ease

  • May 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to see cycle time, allocation, and many other engineering metrics at a glance. Jellyfish integrates with Jira to collect and display all of the metrics and graphs you care about in one dashboard, and it's very easy to trace individual cards and increments of interest and drill down for more clarity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Changes made in Jira aren't reflected in Jellyfish quickly. I would love to see changes refelected in Jira with less delay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to track cycle time more closely and get ahead of problems that may have taken longer to identify without Jellyfish.

Great tool for high-level insight into team performance

  • May 18, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Offers visibility into general team performance and behavior through aggregate views with a fair amount of dimensionality, that can be reasonably well-catered to your own organization's processes and conventions for accounting/reporting. It also provides some drill-down capabilities that are easier to navigate than leveraging JIRA and github independently, which can be helpful in understanding how a given team's work might have progressed within a given timeframe.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's very little self-service in terms of configuration, but likely that it's only a matter of time before those capabilities are expanded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
See above.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to track where the teams are focused and how we are spending engineering time. Gives insights into teams and individual metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seems to be some learning curve and requires a lot of setup and clean-up before getting some value out of this tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Need to understand if the teams are working on the right things. Also, help with one of the big pain points for the teams - Time tracking.

Strong Insights & Excellent Support

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of Jellyfish in how they can couple their BI solution to your specific jira setup and your specific organization is great. They really partner with you to answer the questions every engineering org looks to work through as they grow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loading times can be slow especially as you do a large query.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where are we spending our time? Are we distracted as an engineering org? Are we going to reach milestones at the desired pace?

Not much information about non coders that's those who work outside of GIT and JIRA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource allocations metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
