Best of breed Order Management solution
What do you like best about the product?
Sterling OMS is one of the finest and most comprehensive off-the-shelf order management and inventory management solution. It can cater to both B2B and B2B business use cases. It has rich feature flows for Sales Order, Purchase Order, Return Order, Work order lifecycle flows with both inbound and outbound inventory movements through shipments. The product is configurable to support 'ship to home', 'ship from store' , and 'pickup at store' scenarios. It is very flexible and has extensive system integration ports for upstream and downstream systems for the eCommerce system landscape.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is robust but lacks the latest technology stack like No SQL database support, rest service, and Kafka integrations, out of the box. The performance might be an issue in the case of very diverse and large inventory fulfillment networks. The product version upgrades are complex and challenging activities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Somebody can use IBM Sterling Order Management for entire customer sales orders, reverse logistics, and purchase orders management, specially for the eCommerce business. The high flexibility and extensibility of the product allow us to model order workflows based on clients' business processes. It is easy to override the standard out-of-the-box functionality with custom code. The out-of-box rules configurations are easy and feature-rich.

What do you like best about the product?
In the oms there are certain ways to do the same thing and that's what I like because if you are not able to understand one way then you can try another its not mandatory to focus on one method.
What do you dislike about the product?
The build of IBM oms overall can be more eye appealing and interactive. The user flow could be improved and the layout could be more intuitive. It needs a modern touch I think.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So I am working on a project and it's a pharmaceutical project and I am working on creating orders and adjusting inventory for the items, dirty nodes and early transfer orders. Dirty node is a very good feature and also very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a nice software that covers almost all the features though this product is not for wholesalers because I didn't saw that feature.
Currently IBM Sterling OMS is the top OMS solution available in the market.
What do you like best about the product?
It provides a single point of truth for the Inventory, Catalog Management, Returns/Exchanges, PO's and transfer order management, better alerting mechanisms. It provides both B2C and B2B end-to-end fulfillment. It keeps track of the demand, supply, and safety stock and it provides real-time updates on the inventory and publishes accurate inventory pictures across all the selling channels. It provides the Call Center and Store Management Application as part of the Sterling Selling & Fulfillment Suite. The call center is the UI application that CSR can use to place orders and manage the orders, provide customer appeasement in case of customer is dissatisfied with the purchased product, create return/exchanges on behalf of the customer. The Store staff uses the Store Application for fulfilling Ship from Store or Pick Up from Store orders. It provides the different features of pick & pack.
Overall using OMS will enable the retailers to provide a seamless experience to the consumers and overcome the problems of underpromising and overpromising.
Overall using OMS will enable the retailers to provide a seamless experience to the consumers and overcome the problems of underpromising and overpromising.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one disadvantage of IBM Sterling is that it cannot be directly integrated with other systems. We need IBM Integration Bus (IIB) for any integration with the other systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved the problem of underpromising and overpromising, as Sterling provides a single truth of inventory across the multiple selling channels. It covers all the types of Orders (Ship from Store, Ship from DC, Buy Online and Pick in Store). Implementing purchase orders and transfer orders is straight forward.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will advise using IBM Sterling Order Management to the Retailers who receive a large volume of Orders. For small retailers, I won't advise to use IBM Sterling OMS as it won't be cost-effective for them.
