Whether you digital business is simple or complex, IBM OMS is right for you
What do you like best about the product?
OMS's flexibility without custom coding. To "customize" IBM OMS is a matter of configuration most of the time, and not coding/development like other OMS platforms. Also, the fact that OMS is all services based and can handle the most complext order orchestration situations as well as the simplest (hint: even if you think your are simple, you probably arent)
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost can seem prohibitive. IBM's pricing models are not always designed for every situation, but the good news is you can work with your business partner to help you rightsize the investment and get you the best pricing/terms & conditions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Order Management allows a company to say "yes" to any order and provide the best customer experience. No matter how good your sales channel is, if you can't fulfill the promise to the customer that the product will arrive when promised, the experience will be negative and you risk future revenue with that customer.
OMS to flexibly support any fulfilment needs be it direct to customer or collect in store
What do you like best about the product?
The product was put in back in 2014 and has been extremely robust planning order across 8 warehouses and 50 pick pack and despatch stores. \
It can be deployed in multiple ways and is now moving into containerisation options which makes it massively easy to deploy

What do you dislike about the product?
It was a single deployable up until the lates release. Whilst we optimised deployment using ancible scripts it can be a little unweildly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping up with the continuing challenge of meeting our changing customer demands and optimising fulfilment across the full store and warehouse estate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very flexible. 10 different deployments can give 10 differnt variation of solution and still be very healthy within the framework .

The product offer great deal of option to be customized and tailored based on needs of complex organization. It does offer stable solution with best of functionalities
What do you dislike about the product?
The framework of web call center which is on Dojo is still very slow, with screen we have had issues from business team of being unhappy with UI performance

UI performance on web call center applications.
No standard tools from IBM to measure screen performance.
The timezone of stores are not considered while order allocation as a result we if stores are in -7:00 timezone they start getting orders at 5pm in evening

What I really like is the Multi Brand capability, and the configuration vs coding philosophy

I think that the UIs could improve some, though I haven't seen the latest iteration

BOPIS - Support for Buy online pickup in store feature is standout. It's ability to update the commerce system is well received by customer.. Regular inventory update to commerce system is the key feature which customer like.

No support for Buy online deliver sto store which needs to be looked into,

Integrated with Websphere commerce to support homedelivery, BOPIS and BORTS orders.

What do you like best about the product?
The best OMS platform that I have work with is the IBM OMS plarform for the very reason it is fully architected with the stateless service oriented architecture that address every feature that the customer might think of implementing their requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like IBM in improved the installation process of OMS and enable a different means of integeration with the downstream applications such as MArketplace and WMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a business parther, we solve the omnichannel problem with inventory visibility, on time delivery committement and pricing.
