My experience using Sprout in 2 different social roles

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm huge fan of the Smart Inbox feature - for me direct engagement is truly one of our most important roles as social managers. The Smart inbox makes these very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it's not quite Sprout's fault, more of the issue is with LinkedIn, but as B2B with primary focus on LinkedIn, I wish it offered more in terms of listening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout allows us to easily monitor incoming social posts through the Smart Inbox, easily plan and publish our social content, and quickly pull data based on it's great tagging system.

Great features that are unparralelled

What do you like best about the product?
Reporting feature, API integration for comments, messages, and mentions are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Took some haggling to get the pricing to make sense for our small agency. We dont use all of the features, but the ones that other platforms dont have. So we worked out a deal with Sprout to price it tougher it fit our needs without being too expensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintains a centralized social media presence across all clients we have without having to access each platform natively.

Sprout Social: Clean & Concise Content Management

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Sprout Social is the user-friendly interface and design of the overall program. Working with multiple News stations can get confusing at times; but Sprout keeps everything organized and easy for me to get the right socials to the right markets.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I think Sprout could improve on is the upload/tagging process. I just think there could be a way to make them both faster. Maybe by being able to upload multiple videos at a time or add on multiple tags at a time instead of going back to search each time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout is allowing me to stay connected and work with stations across the country on single platform. This is beneficial to me because I don't have to upload them to a station-specific spot each time.

Social Media management made simple

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social is such a useful tool when you are managing several accounts for several different brands. I can't stress enough how nice it is to have everything in one place from inbox management to analytics and reports for multiple platforms. Sprouts ability to synthesize everything into once platform saves me hours in my day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say there is anything I like the LEAST (other than the price point). There are features that could be improved upon like the approval process for outside clients but I do know that they are always looking for ways to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout solves the problem of having to synthesize information from several different platforms into one report. Looking at analytics from Facebook to LinkedIn to X and reporting on them for a client is made so much easier and quicker with Sprout. The same is true for inbox management.

Sprout Social: A Balanced Review with Higher Ed in Mind

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social is among the best tools out there in this space: It's a mature, full-featured social media management platform that excels in analytics, governance, team workflows and cross-platform publishing. It truly offers a robust “enterprise-grade” experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Its “per user / per seat” model means costs grow quickly with team expansion and the base plan limits social account capacity, so scaling up often forces upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By consolidating all of our social accounts into one place, the “Smart Inbox” ensures no message or mention is missed. This improves responsiveness to our community and makes monitoring easier across multiple departments.

The publishing calendar and cross-platform scheduling save our team time by allowing us to plan content strategically, customize per platform and keep a clear record of what’s going out when. This streamlines workflow and reduces duplication of effort.

With multiple units and accounts across the university, Sprout’s user permissions, approval processes, and reporting structure provide oversight and accountability. This makes it easier to maintain brand consistency and apply institutional standards.

Love Sprout! It's been my favorite from all of the scheduling assistants I've used

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I'm able to post across all platforms and pages simultaneously. I also like the AI feature allowing me to create captions.
What do you dislike about the product?
We should be allowed to access Instagram sounds and songs to add to reels and posts. Would also be nice to customize stories with links, text, icons, etc. Additionally, in a carousel post on Instagram, I should be able to include a video slide (like I can manually in the app). Overall, just needs more in-app features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that I'm able to post across all platforms and pages simultaneously, as I manage multiple accounts on three different platforms. I also like the AI feature allowing me to create captions so I don't have to flick between tabs.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the bulk scheduling tool was easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling across three platforms is extremely easy and saves time.

Innovative Platform with Top Tier Customer Experience

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The reporting dashboard is by far the tool I rely on most. It streamlines the reporting process, making it highly efficient, and is particularly important for tracking the progress of our global accounts. Whenever I have questions about a tool or feature, the Sprout team responds promptly and always provides the assistance I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features feel outdated or are not yet compatible with newer platforms and their functionalities. While the platform allows us to schedule a variety of posts, we still have to publish most of them manually because many in-app tools are not yet available on Sprout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has greatly improved the efficiency of many of our social media tasks, which in turn has strengthened our customer and user experience. By streamlining these processes, it frees up more time for us to focus on strategic initiatives and to further develop our approach to social media.

Strong platform for Social Publishing and Analytics - Other features less intuitive

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The scheduling tools are great. With the exception of certain Instagram story features and the use of audios on Reels, this platform has fairly advanced capabilities when it comes to content scheduling. These features are easy to use and understand, and we use Sprout to schedule all of our Meta content.

In terms of analytics, the reporting is strong and offers a variety of metrics. Our plan stores a great amount of historical data, allowing for thorough YOY comparisons and deep-dives into past performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The social listening tools are difficult to implement and understand. We would love to make better use of this tool, but have had a hard time fine-tuning the listening capabilities to be relevant to our brand. Similarly, we'd love help setting up the competitor tracking tool correctly, as we haven't found that it monitors the full scope of competitor's digital activity.

The AI writing tools aren't particularly advanced, however, we don't use that feature so it isn't a big problem.

Finally, in terms of analytics, a greater division between paid vs. organic impressions/ engagements would be great. Occasionally, the numbers reported on Sprout differ from those offered natively in-app, making it confusing to understand which numbers are correct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout is helping us schedule content in advance, develop a preliminary understanding of social media analytics, and analyze historical performance vs. current.

Major upgrade for our team

  • September 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout has endless tools that help our team collaborate and make the constant stream of social content easier to manage. I love that the software keeps up with platform updates and I can request solutions for our teams unique needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only feature that I have seen better from other platforms is the social listening tool. I don't think that it is overly user-friendly and the organization can be confusing sometimes compared to other tools I've used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our primary use is social media management so it allows our team to collaborate on content planning and get clear reporting each month to inform our future strategy.
