What do you like best about the product?
The thing which i like most is ease of access. I can easily work on it. We can fetch all information of device from it in easily. It have the logs of every second of devices so it highly useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
As per now i have nothing to dislike in solarwinds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its captured every seconds of device, so we can easily get all information regarding devices. solarwinds have perfect UI, easy to understand this tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very highly demanding tool regarding monitoring for Network & Security project. i found its really useful.

What do you like best about the product?
Robust product for any type of network monitoring. Easily configurable and any Solaris, Linux hosts can be added for monitoring
What do you dislike about the product?
Automation is difficult. User entries from the tool cannot be translated to commands on servers. More work in artificial intelligence side expected
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time alerts and server issues are identified so that proactive actions can be taken before server have issues

What do you like best about the product?
This is a software what i was looking for. This gives over view of network and servers. Integration is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still more deeper level of data is expected. Like iops of vsan etc
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Over all performance, notification of downtime. Predective analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
We are long time users of other solarwinds products and this one did not dissapoint. It is an excellent tool to monitor traffic on your website, it monitors transactions and you can group the by location, it also has all the standard monitoring features like response time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it a little bit hard to configure, there is not much online documentation for this toold.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring a mission critical website, the main online revenue channel for this company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should try to get all the knowledge first to configure this tool to maximize it's benefits.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how solarwinds can give specific times for network performance issues. Providing node details to help troubleshoot which specific node is related to the server at a specific site.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not come across anything specific to not like, as solarwinds seems to be the best tool out for network monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our Noc team to isolate and contact the site administrator and or vendor to assist with a node issue. The benefits are a timely response and real time monitoring service.

n/a at this time. love the product.

What do you like best about the product?
Its very simple to use and to configure. The interface is very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its doesnt work well. We have a lot of "bugs".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve a monitoring problem of a customer. His conecction was bad and it not enought for the company. But after SolarWinds WPM it was solved.

What do you like best about the product?
It's scalable.. you can monitor everything on everything or just some things on some things. Once you figure out the terminology for the different aspects, you can fly around. Search is very flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a while to learn terminology and how to navigate efficiently through the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring multiple aspects in one pane of glass, makes it easy to resolve issues before we get calls.

Check out demos and trials... you'll like it

some training required to use it to its full potential

monitoring of critical systems is accomplished using a mix of custom and out of the box monitoring options

This is a great and full featured monitoring solution. It can be used to apply out of the box templates or create custom monitoring solutions fora variety of software and solutions.

PaperTrail is a great cloud product

What do you like best about the product?
Setup is extremely easy, it took less than 5 minutes to setup my first log.I love the idea that it's an easy to configure solution. I think this will prove to be more reliable of a solution than using email reports or local storage solutions. I think setting up email alerts took way longer to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the jump in cost from the free version to the equivalent storage space in the paid version, to get the same amount of storage after the free trial, you have to go from $0/ month up to $150/ month. . I dislike that they don't have a SMS alerts option, I feel like that would be a logical next step. Another feature I would to see, and I'm surprised they don't offer, unless I missed it, is the ability to send these logs / alerts to Solarwinds MSP, which does give me push notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy, consolidated, cloud access solution for all the various logs I need to keep track of. I'm not super experienced with it, but it looks like I can setup a wide variety of devices to send their logs to papertrail
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For servers/ workstations the setup is straightforward, and takes virtually no time at all. More specialized devices/ platforms will take more knowledge and setup time. I don't think I've ever seen a pre-built solution for logs like this. It would take far more work to setup manually.

Peace of Mind about your app

What do you like best about the product?
I use the papertrail extension in Heroku and it works really well, it gives nice reports about what’s happening and what happened with my Rails app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the output is not helpful, but it was because of how I had configured it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to have better coverage of my app, papertrail helps with that.
