NPM- Total Network Management and Performance Package

What do you like best about the product?
Free fully functional Demo. The ease of setup and scalability should you need to grow/shrink your installation. You can connect multiple data collectors, networks and architectures and have a NOC dashboard as well as a granular view of each switch if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not inexpensive, and requires a bit on investment to user properly. Be ready for this, and you will love the features. Additional servers are not cheap, so choose your deployment wisely and cover whats needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General network overview to see how all spokes are operating and track down latency/service issues. There is the ability to fix deep networking issues with VoIP and packet loss due to distance and EMI. Customer 'ghosts' that otherwise would be very hard to track down otherwise. Allows us to prove certain services are causing issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the demo first and fully setup and test the software. You will find its well worth the price.

NPM - Ease of Netowrk Monintoring Software

What do you like best about the product?
NPM Orion has good coverage of network component monitoring and has a excellent web interface which allows new user to easily understand the dashboard and data metrics. Also it has a good integration with other Orion product to get full stack of performance data. NPM has a very good intelligence of providing the perf stack metric which help us to pin point the problem in appropriate application layer.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be better if NPM can have more scalability for large network environment. Also product should focus more on database performance specially for large network. We would like to see more element can be monitored with NPM by keeping in mind of database performance. Also, we would like to see if SolarWinds can provide database schema to understand data structure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps operation team to proactively spot the problem before it become a real problem. It provide lot of reporting and alerting feature which is used to future planning and proactive monitoring of our network.
We are monitoring our QoS data and it really help us to analyze bandwidth usage of our network.

What do you like best about the product?
SolarWinds is good orgainization, that is bulidiing the best tools for Infra and Cloud, applications monitoring,

Where NPM is the core product of solarwinds, it is providing the capability to maintain the all infra, cloud, specially hardware monitoring of device, In IT world have lots of device, network, server, cloud, etc And i can ensure that NPM have power to gather the all information from device according to severity and present to user in dashboard format, which is very easy to understand.

i can believe there in no such tools available in market which helps you can get all information in easy way.
What do you dislike about the product?
As far as, i did not feel something that present me NPM have not capability, it is overall capable and handle to do all type of monitoring.
NPM have default many option to get the all information of device and put into readable format in dashboard which is the awesome feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benifit perspective i can ensure you will not miss anything, who is imapacting your business, you can get the instant information about the alert from NPM and maintain the devices issue and back the bussiness normal,

What do you like best about the product?
NPM provides actionable intelligence for your network. Real live proof and statistics to show management. For our company is has been a real driver for change, we moved from knock-off linksys cisco to real cisco based on NPM data and C's are incredibly happy with the investment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently have no dislikes regarding NPM. Product is actively developed and supported. There is nothing to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved network slowdowns caused by old faulty switches. 100MB switches slowing our 1000MB Network.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it, you will not regret it.

What do you like best about the product?
The intuitive GUI. The ease of installation. Agentless. Data visualization, ease of customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The efforts required to upgrade and apply patches is still not as seamless as one would hope.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IT Service and server availability. Hardware and software inventory. Capacity planning and forecasting. Enterprise Architecture documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Define your scope! Take a "Business" approach to customizing this product. Understand your business functions, service tiers, service owners and more. Understand what is important to them and avoid alerting on everything. Identify their need and customize SolarWinds to fill that need.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. I can quickly train support staff how to use NPM to assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
NPM lacks the ability to perform custom sorting .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to monitor our Home Office, several data centers, as well as 1234 remote locations. NMP lets us quickly determine where an issue is occurring, and many times what the casue of the issue is.

What do you like best about the product?
NPM is an excellent monitoring tool for any size network. Whilst it is easy for anyone to use, it is very powerful in the information it supplies. Both in graphical and report formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike anything about it. The product does everything it says it will do straight out of the box. And the fact that it's easy to use, makes getting information and alerting out of it a breeze.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any network problems can easily be picked up by using NPM. Everything that's being logged, can be alerted or reported on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The ease of this product make installation a breeze. In next to no time will you have usable data to report or alert on.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use of this product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike, I wish they would include a lab license with an unlimited license so I could test outside of my production environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to know when our applications, servers, network gear etc are up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use and inexpensive. Works great.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease in which it can be setup. It is also easy to manage and track issues that occur. The dashboards are very cutomizable and you can choice what you want to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product has everything I could ask for. I have found nothing I disliked about this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has given me alerts to servers and Infrastructure that are down or having issues. I can see what the problem is and correct it in a couple of easy steps. Having a real-time view of my site-to-site VPNs has been a great help in keeping my remote sites up and running. I have also found the wireless heat maps to be useful in tracking down issues of coverage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product is a great tool in monitoring your network. It provides several ways to track and monitor what is happening and gives you a great base of operations to build from. They have several other products that attached to this that can be useful.
