Out of the box usability

What do you like best about the product?
Pre-built dashboards and alerts allow you to add your nodes and immediately get value.
What do you dislike about the product?
Picking and configuring device templates is either really easy or really hard. If you run in to an issue getting a device template working or understanding how they measure ingress/egress it is a steep learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a go to in troubleshooting network issues. We identify and alert on our critical network paths. This enables us to be proactive instead of waiting for user reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Run the free trial. You can see if it will work in your environment and integrate with your workflow. Ever software has it's quirks and SolarWinds lets you try pretty much anything for free. Take advantage of that.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can drill down very deeply into a server that you are monitoring and get real time results about the health of your servers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface at times does not feel very user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After using Solarwinds we are able to be alerted quickly and resolve problems quickly.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that you can monitor many different processes, cpu, services, etc. to get notified when something is down. Also, you can set templates to save time when setting a server up for monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we receive false alerts or the alerts are a little late by the time we realize a server is back up on it's own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To monitor services, etc. on servers to get notified when an application or service is down so we can check it out right away before users have time to call in to let us know they are having problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very good choice and can monitor many different aspects of your servers, in my opinion.

Is a powerful software, and has a good flexibility to monitor SNMP components
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to improve the dashboard template because doesn´t have many gages or windows where I can set the variable I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitor UPS, AA, Rectifiers, MG, and Inverters

What do you like best about the product?
1. Ease of operation
2. Cool Widgets with fast results
3. Netpath is a must have! gives accurate visibility into the network
What do you dislike about the product?
1. CPU Utilization is not accurate
2. no CLI Based conditions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Monitoring ISP Hops using Netpath which can minimize my time in troubleshooting in case the traffic was facing problems outside my network.
2. My own view that has Utilization charts that shows me exactly what happened in the last 24 hours for example.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They give you a 30 day demo to test their modules, which you should take advantage off, the account managers are very helpful, ask them what you need, ive had session with support where they showed me the ins and outs before purchasing. they also have Virtual classrooms that show you the newest features where you can ask and have a chat with other customers.

An easy way to monitor servers

What do you like best about the product?
SAM gives you the peace of mind you need when looking after the performance, health and statistics of the servers you manage. With built in templates it makes it easy to get up and running in no time. It gives you insights and information you really need on a day to day basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
SAM isn't cheap and can lack features if only used by itself. The way it integrates with the other Solarwinds modules is very good but isn't the cheapest option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rather than checking and monitoring servers manually it helps us get on with other tasks, saving us time. It also draws to our attention potential problems that we can snuff out before they turn into anything more serious.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for good serve monitoring then SAM is a great product. With the WMI support, you can see detailed information about your servers, which before wouldn' have been clear.

Actually there is none to dislike. NPM just needs more loving

Solarwinds NPM is a great tool to have especially for monitoring. This helps a lot detecting issues before it occurs and avoiding any problems.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use, and perfect for monitoring traffic and devices that may go down. If we start to get an influx of calls, Solarwinds is the first thing I turn to, to see if we have any devices that may be down and affecting our network.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. I only use it when needed in my position, but it provides the info that I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can see what is eating up our bandwidth and when devices are down, which helps me gather more info before someone in a higher position ca confirm what is happening.
