Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer is a Great Tool for your Troubleshooting Arsenal
What do you like best about the product?
Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer lets me see traffic patterns up to the minute, allowing me to troubleshoot bandwidth issues rapidly. Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer also allows me to identify application issues, traffic issues, as well as end user bandwidth hogs. Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer helps improve my ability to ensure our network is up and operational for our clients, tenants, as well as our employees.
Also, because Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer integrates into our other Solar Winds products such as Network Performance Monitor, Solar Winds Server and Application Monitor, and Solar Winds End User Device Tracker, it helps us create a central dashboard where we can quickly identify problem areas and resolve them quickly and efficiently.

What do you dislike about the product?
Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer takes a lot of time configuring unless you're good with seeing "Un-Monitored traffic"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer, we have been able to identify chatty applications and have segmented them off our primary network. Also, Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer has assisted us in being able to identify bandwidth hogs (end users) and disabled their access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's not the end-all, be-all, magic bullet to solve all your issues, but is a great addition to any tool sets you currently use.
Best tool in the market
What do you like best about the product?
It has compatibility with various devices
What do you dislike about the product?
Not available as Standalone - need NPM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to monitor and analyze the traffic from different devices like Cisco, Juniper, etc., Also with the dashboard which is very smooth to use, I can customize the report the way I want.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep your objective clear and pre-requisites ready. That will ease out whole process during implementation.
Great Tool for any Network admin
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I am able to narrow down bandwidth consumption between two endpoints and even a specific application being used
What do you dislike about the product?
That it is not possible to pull a single report combining the netflow traffic along with the SNMP circuit consumption. Like being able to determine how much of each circuit is being utilized by exchange traffic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To be able to determine what are affecting our circuit's that happen to be smaller, I.E T1
Positive impression.
What do you like best about the product?
NTA is a really useful tool with a user-friendly interface and flexible settings. I'm enjoying using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't remember any drawback of NTA. From my point of view everything work fine in NTA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usually I use NTA to investigate important links over utilization.
Great tool for bandwidth analysis
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is really easy to deploy and easy to use. Just configure your network devices to export netflow data to the NTA server and start displaying traffic information
What do you dislike about the product?
Default dashboards are not great, I always modify them to my liking. That's really easy to do (around 5 minutes).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly bandwidth analysis problems. Check what applications are using your internet connection. Check how the top talkers are. Check security issues (for example if a SQL server is generating too much SMTP traffic)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you don't have any netflow tool and you own a SolarWinds module, this is a no brainer for you.

Pingdom | Monitor websites easily
What do you like best about the product?
Pingdom is best for monitoring easily. It even has free plans but with limited functionality. The best thing is that it's really reliable!
What do you dislike about the product?
It has very less features for free accounts to explore upon. It should open up some of the features for only paid plan for people with free plan! This will allow more people to test out new features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have set up checking up of our website and some other clients' websites using Pingdom for Uptime Statistics to prove that we have good uptime on our website! It has great charts, graphs to show when uptime or downtime took place
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want less features but free plan, go for the free plan of Pingdom! It should be good enough for just uptime checking, if not other features.
Hard to use product made easy.
What do you like best about the product?
The solar winds community (THWACK) is by far one of the best NPM community’s offering every support solution paid support ever could. from custom monitors, reports and even support for issues outside of SW. Both the free and paid SW support is also great. There is nothing you can’t monitor with SW, although built in support may not naively exist, the platform is very open ended to develop your own monitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very complex monitors sometimes take hours to set up with countless time spent on testing, checking metrics, setting alerts and then reviewing the community when all else fails. it really can be a full time job just managing the back end DB and all of the monitors for a small to medium NOC. quite resource intensive on the network, can add to latency in ping time when you have 1000s of nodes monitored remotely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex network monitoring both on site, through multiple data centers, all the way through the network to customer sites, including monitoring video bandwidth, network latency, even when employees dock their computers in the morning. it is also great for monitoring SW versions and patch history, Service tags or SN's for inventory purposes and Costing for network usage across multiple sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check the Fourms and community first, when calling free or paid support often the first questions out of their mounts is if you checked the knowledge base first, and often times their only support is to send the the applicable community or KB article.
