CFD Direct From the Cloud is very easy to setup. It is a good alternative as a low cost computation and a substitute for a dedicated workstation. I used it quite extensively for a couple of months on all of the instance types offered.
Highly recommended service!

The collaboration of CFD direct with cloud computing was for me a nice opportunity to start with real cfd calculations.
Because at once, I got a very reliable hardware environment with preinstalled cfd software on a linux platform without initial costs.
With the written support in website of CFD direct, it was easy to set up the first instance and remote desktop.
During the projects, I could get more CFD results in a quicker way just by launching as many extra new instances as I want.
Also "spot pricing" is working good to my opinion.

It just works! The best cloud environment for CFD at the moment. Full current OpenFoam installed on ubuntu. Simulate all you need here on the cloud!

Wow! This service couldn't have come much sooner for me...so timely when I needed it. If you are regularly in the world of numerical simulation, this is a must have option. The service is quite reliable.
