Vp of finance / Controller
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Reduced time to market for mew products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Implemented in 2012 when the software was still relatively new so required some customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scaling business while maintaining costs. Launching new products quicker from a back office standpoint.
I despise this software
What do you like best about the product?
The possibility of switching vendors when our contract is up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything about it slows down my day. If I want to close out a deal I have to now go through 10+ steps to do so. And they are all incredibly slow to load.
I'm on the sales side of things - so why the hell am I doing finance's job on top of mine?
I'm on the sales side of things - so why the hell am I doing finance's job on top of mine?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was no problem solved for sales - it's supposed to make Finance's job easier but because they now have to handle questions from sales every damn day no one is more productive. Its really a nightmare
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't do it.
Great Subscrition Manager
What do you like best about the product?
Zuora enabled us to provide a better subscrition system than ever. We can personalize the bills so that they are customerspecific and they have the feeling we care about every single one. The customer can always access the subscrition management portal, in order to see which are active and for how long. He can easily change his subscrtion plan and add or remove services. The reporting system is for us really good, since you can personlize each revenue report quite easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The program is not self explanatory, we had to invest a lot of time in order to understand it, and know where to find the tools needed. But it was managable with their help page and some calls to their customer service. As long as it is intuitive at the customer side, it is no major problem for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Zuora as subscrition manager, in order to provide customers easy access to their active subscritions, easy change plans and upgrade/downgrade when needed. Reports are used in order to analyze the business activity and as a certain basis for our future company roadmap.
Difficult to use, confusing for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
Zuora is powerful and there's features to pull data and create reports that you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confusing and difficult to learn. It takes time to really understand all the components. Very difficult to get trained on or train others on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Zuora to invoice customers and track our outstanding invoices/balances for each of our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zuora is difficult to use, and I would honestly look at other options out there first. You spend a lot of time trying to fix things and trouble shoot things. It's very non user-friendly. Their support team is also impossible to reach.
Gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
I like the Zuora integrates in with Salesforce
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that their base package is missing a lot of features, and it isn't just a few hundred dollars to bump your plan up, it costs a significant amount more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are having issues with mass editing and discounts.
Zuora
What do you like best about the product?
it keeps things simple through automation. UI is nice, UX is good, overall its not too complicated to use. Fairly simple, simple is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
i am not sure if there is really a dislike. I've never used any other service. but its pretty good. i think it works out for Zuora because i am of the mindset that if a first time user uses this and likes it, they wont leave. If anyone starts looking elsewhere then thats where the problem lies and you will need to spend money to figure out what made this particular user go searching for something else to use. if they like it, thats great because now you will have a regular user. Most poeple are lazy, and only change if they are forced to. by doing something bad, tweaking your product to something not user friendly or confusing or anything that is a turn off, it will give the user an incentive to leave. so, like i said earlier, i'm not sure if there is really a dislike, which means your product is pretty good. dont give me a reason to leave.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is one consolidated place for everything. it saves me a lot of time, the more time saved, the more time i have to do other things. Consolidation is awesome also because i dont have to remember a separate password for each site.

Zuora...used to be a big promoter
What do you like best about the product?
Zuora's billing is solid. We just don't have issues with billing. CPQ is relatively straight forward to use in Salesforce given our transactional sales cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've used Zuora for about 10 years now - spoke for them at their Subscribed events, Dreamforce, etc. The top 3 issues that continue to recur:
1. Under pressure to deliver wall street results, they pass that along to their customers upon renewal. It's never about how can we make sure you're happy and we're charging you based on the value received, but it's about retaining ACV and trying to grow ACV from each customer every single year. And their tactics are dirty ones that I've never experience from any other vendor.
2. I've had multiple challenges with their professional services in the past (granted, the last engagement was about 4-5 years ago now).
3. Their platform data model is complicated, so it can be difficult to figure out how to pull billing metrics from it.

Billing.
Zuora if you have to
What do you like best about the product?
It was the only quoting tool at the time and did the work we needed for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacked ease of modifying and changing items in the catalog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a quoting tool and it was the easiest we could get and implement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you understand what it takes to make changes and get updates accomplished.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of access, easy to visualise information
What do you dislike about the product?
The customization of the tool is not one of its strengths, with limited options for the user.
The complexity of the tool sometimes results in a double-edged weapon as it creates an immense learning curve that doesn't allow you to be productive out of the box.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I consider Zuora to be one of the most complete software in terms of a billing system focused on large companies for which it has important scalable qualities.
