I worked for test automation for this product
What do you like best about the product?
This software is huge and best for commercial systems backup and restore.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not so much interactive UI, however, it is not that unfriendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I learned that NetBackup was very powerful and efficient tool for a lot of businesses for maintaining their backups regularly and securely, and in a systematic way with the most advanced technologies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best for commercial purposes than personal.

Veritas NetBackup

There isn't a lot left to like about the program, now owned by Symantec.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of customer support, the lack of 32-bit OS support, and comparing it to other programs, its not as fast and up to par.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company has now switched to something else.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Switch to something else.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
configuration backup
Sluggish, invasive, far better solutions exist for less money
What do you like best about the product?
Doesn't melt my computer. It had a free trial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Much like many Symantec apps, it's very bloated and sluggish and tends to make most computers actually run slower than without it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A quick way to automatically backup to the cloud, found a far better solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can get a free trial, then go for the trial. But I wouldn't recommend paying for it.
NetBackup for SharePoint
What do you like best about the product?
I like the best that NB has an add-in for SharePoint so in case there's need to restore a single item from a list or document library it can be done easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that every server needs a license in a SharePoint Farm; servers such as the indexing server shouldn't need a license if NetBackup will not be used for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We resolved our problem with not being able to restoring a single item or a SharePoint site collection which is beneficial.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend engaging with NB or one of their re-sellers to perform the initial implementation to make sure a proper configuration is in place.
