Good tools for remote management

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud is one of the few device management platforms that works with multiple operating systems. We use it to manage our windows and linux corporate devices. They make it easy to get started and their free tier of 10 users/devices is a great way to get started with device management at a small organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure can be a little bit confusing when you first get used to it. It can be hard to design a plan/bundle that has the needed features while keeping the pricing competitive with other device management services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud helps us solve our MDM requirements for windows and linux devices. Very few groups offer easy linux device management so streamlining this into a single service prevents us from needing an additional management system.

What do you like best about the product?
The main thing I find helpful about Jumpcloud is having so many different management pieces all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that Jumpcloud lacks, but nothing that isn't already being worked on or that couldn't be fixed with some small UI or UX changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping facilitate the remote nature of the business that I work for.

A helpful tool, with the potential to be an invaluable one

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to centrally manage a domainless environment is absolutely crucial in any modern IT department. Having the ability to deploy software, enforce policy, and run commands with broad brushstrokes is essential.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are elements of JumpCloud that still need further development; flexibility in criteria when automating group creation is one such area. Further development needs to be done for update automation, particularly on macOS. There are certain elements of the admin console that effectively do more or less what I need them to, but perhaps not as efficiently or flexibly as I'd like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had no domain or centralized control over our workstation fleet. JumpCloud allows us that control.

Solid MDM product with good support and feature cadence

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a solid suite of MDM tools. It's been really useful in terms of managing our devices and security across the business.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides. Sometimes the UX can be a little complicated, but it's a powerful tool, so that's to be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our devices as they come in to the business, installing software and remote management.

They make it easy

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud makes it easy to get signed up and running. It only takes a few minutes to get a cloud-based LDAP server up and integrated into an application. Easier than testing all of the open-source alternatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a jumpcloud issue, but more of just the issues getting 3rd party applications using LDAP in sync with what jumpcloud sends back and organizes the directory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rather than upgrade on-prem systems, it was easier to go with cloud-based to make it easier to integrate other third-party applications and have all authentication in one place.

Excellent IAM & MDM solution

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JC offers one of the most user-friendly, comprehensive approaches to identity and access management, providing an extensive breadth of features, a plethora of convenient integrations, and highly useful additions like MDM and patch management across the platforms. Implementation is fairly simple for a quick start, but one should pay attention to all the features and their proper implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only disadvantages appear to be limited Linux support (not all distros are supported) and some minor issues with customer support that have been rectified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With business processes spread across multiple environments and platforms, JC helped centralise, decrease time spent and improve productivity, thus reducing workload and speeding up overall activities.

JumpCloud: A great MDM and IAM tool

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a very excellent MDM software. It enables you to seamlessly manage multiple devices remotely, and very good with IAM and security plus features SSO(SAML) making it a great experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not really like how the UI did not have any search options for the list of features on the side, it would have made going through the different features more quickly and hassle-free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped me in Managing devices, and onboarding and offboarding and connecting different apps through SSO to integrate different profiles like Salesforce. It has also aided me in providing remote support.
