Started testing it a week ago - looks good so far

What do you like best about the product?
All features are available for the trial "For only 10 users and 10 devices"
User friendly
Doesn't require an expert to be able to use it.
Pre-defined template policies.
Support Windows, Linux, and Mac.
Reasonable pricing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I hope there were more tutorials.
Also, the chat support isn't that responsive.
Didn't test everything yet but I compared it to for example Mircosoft solutions, Jumbcloud missing features. Not the main ones I guess. So this shouldn't be an issue for many people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically, I need a domain controller for remote users. Everyone is working from home now. So, looking for a solution within the budget.

How Directory Services would be in a Cloud Native world

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and execution of JumpCloud drastically reduces the complexity that would otherwise involve "specialists"
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. The product seems to have captured the requirements and needs of most organisations on a new directory services journey
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifying and standardising small directory service deployments.

Simple, yet powerful

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface. The provisioning and refresh are quick and responsive. While we have only scratched the surface, the number of integrations is incredibly vast, and Jumpcloud will likely be able to talk with any application of your choosing. The help articles are in-depth and provide walkthroughs of many scenarios you may come across. Most, if not all, of the initial setup and ongoing use of the service, can be quickly completed without external support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing by feature isn't ideal as it makes it somewhat more confusing to "sell" to management since further expansion into other software apps may not be covered by the current license and attract increased costs. The requirement to re-sync the integration with Microsoft 365 every 90 days is somewhat annoying, but I appreciate that this may be a limitation on Microsoft's part, rather than Jumpcloud itself.
It would be nice to have a more detailed Windows 10 integration to push out group policies if you moved away from a Windows domain controller.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud allows us to sync our Azure Active Directory credentials with our on-premise Synology NAS's giving us a central point of control for all user credentials. Jumpcloud has reduced staff password reset requests and saved login times. Management of user accounts from on-premise devices can be somewhat difficult without a solution such as Jumpcloud.
We also use Jumpcloud to sync between Microsoft 365 and Google Suite, which reduces employee password reset requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the free (up to 10 user) license, and test with a small subset of users on your chosen applications/stacks.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Very intuitive interface that allowed us to test all functionality without having to contact support
What do you dislike about the product?
ALA carte pricing makes this a solution for multiple use cases without being saddled with features you will not use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were evaluating for WEB SSO features

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is easy to use. Can support multiple operating system, we have a mix of windows, linux and mac and this seems to ingrate them quite well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like more way to display the information gathered by the jump cloud agent.
Directory insight do not provide lots of information.
I would like to see some kind of aggregation of the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can centralise all authentication and users management in one system instead of managing 2-3 different system.

Best Directory as a service application

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way it can integrate different softwares at one place and the way user can sign into all the integrated application from single place and also its core ability to save passwords
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to share at the moment, because we did not observe any issues using it so far
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Saving password
- Multifactor authentication
- We now access things from single place
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to make things hassle-free for your employees, then please do consider it. It's not going to upset you!

Great centralized management for SMBs

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great way of integrating and securely managing BYOD for SMBs. Easy implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The audit log insights tool only captures user authentication logs but does not have DLP capability down to the file level for digital forensics analysis if in fact there was an attack. User authentication logs capture is decent, but lacks in its ability to capture event logs, application and other security logs. In addition, jumpCloud does not yet have the ability to integrate with mobile devices or other printers and internal routers as well as systems that may be also running on the network. It seems to only integrate with Linux, Mac and windows operating systems. I would say it is a 75 to 80% solution for centralized management but still has room for improvement. Overall though a good product at a decent rate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized management of BYOD and meeting ISO/IEC and other compliance objectives

Jumpcloud Review

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The easy to use interface is what we like the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
The billing is not easy to get to in the UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving remote worker machine authentication and password management. The Benefits of this system keep us PCI compliant as well as having a place where we can add and remove users from systems easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you read the information about their price tiers. It can be a little confusing, about what is included in the lower end tiers.

    Insurance

Good tool to manage windows, MAC and Linux devices.

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Management of MAC devices and handling of local accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not support feature to run command remotely on MAC machines.
Option to have a screensaver set on all the machines. (Like we do in Group Policy)
Option to restrict users to disable 2FA from user account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
dependency of connecting to office network for password change.
managing local account seemlessly.
Managing machines remotely easily not matter where they are connected.

JumpCloud is the way to go when it comes to a cloud directory solution!

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy multiple factors of JC like the Directory Insights, the easy user imports from GSuite to JC, the creation of device groups AND user groups, and the usage of radius servers for authentication.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I transitioned from AD, I wish there was more GPO manipulation in JC. They have registry keys that you can manipulate but I need to be able to have more accessibility to the GPO hierarchy.

I also keep having this status-check RADIUS login failure on one of my APs and none of the techs have given me a solid answer to what is happening. Also, devices connected via Wi-Fi via the RADIUS feature and the wifi connectivity would just drop. I would check JC for reasoning and there is no way to see what is happening with wifi-dropped devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Device management, directory management, and RADIUS authentication. It has been very easy to manage the devices in my fleet and create and manage new, existing, and termed users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have an organization that has 10+ stationary users or even a centralized location for your end-users then this solution is perfect. Even if you have remote users, it is easy to join them in your JC domain. There's a lot of benefits and I think it is huge that you can access the Admin portal from anywhere as long as you have Internet.
