  • November 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the easy to use modules. It is very cost effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more integrations available, but we are very happy with the solution overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to reduce the onboarding time for employees as well as the time it took to resolve technical issues with employee's systems.

Easy, Feature-rich, Directory-as-a-Service Platform

  • November 16, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The integration into just about any device or service is a game changer. Linking devices, to cloud accounts, to networks, all with one ID, is great for clients and companies alike. Policy management for devices is also a helpful feature in today’s world where traditional AD can be more infrastructure than is necessary or desired.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t have any major gripes with the service, but improvements with additional layers of permissions and security for users would be ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing devices and users across multiple devices and services. The benefits of increased security, policy management, and account lockout has been very useful in managing large sets of users.

What do you like best about the product?
Testing installation is simple and well explained
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. We launched the server pretty quickly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to use radius server for wi-fi connections

Simple, easy to use time saver.

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud allowed us to do aware with our "on-prem" directory server and provisioning users is a piece of cake. Whether the system is Windows, Linux or Mac, JumpCloud can handle it all.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a few pre-populated system commands for IT administrators that do not have the experience to write their own. I would also like to see more system settings for Catalina.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provisioning a user and system are a breeze. I can manage our directory from virtually anywhere and JumpCloud's ease of use allows me to quickly train additional staff to help with the daily IT operations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time with the free 10 users, build out an implementation plan and take advantage of JumpCloud's knowledgebase.

Awesome tool for managing role-based access

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
While I came to JumpCloud for the RADIUS and LDAP servers, the systems features are perhaps the most surprisingly useful. All of our servers now run the JumpCloud agent, allowing the right people to access the right servers using their public keys, with a super simple setup. On top of that, I'm able to require TOTP MFA for access to our production environment, which helps immensely with my compliance requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud is still pretty young as a product, and there are some places where obvious ease-of-use features haven't been implemented yet (like group-based sudoer privileges on different systems). For the most part, I've been able to make those features work via the API, but as the product matures I expect that will get better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using JumpCloud to:
1) implement password complexity and change requirements across services
2) implement 2fa (including over services that don't natively support it)
3) manage role based access to restricted services
4) provide an SSO portal
5) provide RADIUS server for wifi and vpn access
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most services we've integrated with don't claim to support JumpCloud (instead listing the more common competitors), but since JumpCloud uses the same SAML approach, it works anywhere any of them work.

Benefits of DaaS

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a big help in reducing work for System Administrators by taking out patching, server management, and many more daily and monthly tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the limitations of the solution as they are features that are coming but with no clear date it makes it difficult to plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Freedom of local account management without the need of an always-on VPN.

Great identity management for simple cloud deployments

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy for end users to use. Great for integrating with legacy systems (we did a lot of lift-and-shift). It is also an adequate replacement for ActiveDirectory for our remote users, while being easier to deploy and manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting policies can be a little cumbersome: the policy library needs better organization as the number of provided policies have grown.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud has made it very easy for us to move quickly into the cloud. We were able to move quickly into AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and tie our identity and access needs there with SaaS products. This was much less expensive and more efficient than using any of the identity providers available from the cloud providers directly.

JumpCloud Delivers - But Make Sure Someone Technically Strong is Implementing

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud fills the gaps for our small business clients - too small for a large Windows domain environment but too big to just go without proper user management tied to an LDAP. Especially when you add in the SSO options with Office365 and other platforms.

The policies for systems is a decent Windows Group Policy replacement, and critical for small companies without Windows domain but nevertheless want to have Group Policy like control over their workstations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jumpcloud is quite technical to implement, really not easy for our Tier 1 support techs to get involved. Really requires higher level administrators to manage. The knowledgebase tells you what you need but is so technical i wouldn't trust anyone below a Tier 3 to follow and implement.

We are a Managed Service Provider and the MSP functionality requires a few hoops to go through, rather than be available right off the bat. I get why they do it (because of the free licenses under 10 users) but as an MSP i'd love to be able to manage all my clients, big and small, under one pane of glass.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BIG help in client environments that are Mac and PC. Tying them under one roof has made Jumpcloud irreplacible for some of our clientele.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a technically strong engineer/technician available for implementation. Jumplcloud has good documentation but does not hodl your hand, you need to have a grasp on your own of the technically requirements.

Great all cloud solution

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not requiring an AD server and replication services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requiring a long list of local accounts on windows PCs for each person authorized to sign in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to get rid of our servers and replication issues.

Very good solution for experts and novices alike

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is cloud based. It is very easy to use. I also like that you can use it for free with a limited number of people. We have a small office and it is a great alternative to an active directory server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike. I would like to see more integrations with API. There are still a few programs that it does not integrate with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an active directory type solution for all of the computers and laptops that our company has but we didn't want to pay for an onsite server to run the active directory. It has also made it very easy to onboard new employees and deactivate user rights for old employees after they leave.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try everything on yourself as one user before emplomenting to whole team. Also spend time showing your team how everything works and why it's best so that they will embrace the change.
