User friendly packed with pre-built features and combined with a quick to respond customer support.

What do you like best about the product?
The initial concept of using Jumpcloud's DaaS sounded a bit unpredictable to us as that was our choice for cloud-based AD that we were introducing to our Org. But as we started to deep-dive into it's services more and more, we realised the great service and accessibility that it brought to the table.
Using Jumpcloud as a DaaS meant that we would no longer have the problem of users having password issues as we could remotely reset the same from our end.
We faced some initial issues with JC having to migrate all our softwares behind the SSO service from one platform to another. However, with the help of the tech support team and their engineering departments, it was resolved to satisfaction.
It's support for radius based authentication has meant that now users no longer need to worry about having issues with logging into different services by remembering multiple passwords or storing it in unsafe documents or browser services. Just bind the app behind it's 2FA based portal(meaning more secure) and users can easily access the webapp from the portal as needed.
Plus that could also be bound to our Radius based EAP for network access so employees can authenticate with the same secure method of access that they use for their computers.

The other main feature we like is the level of insight it gives into the systems management of our Hybrid windows+mac based environment. This was part of the reason why we chose JC because of the ability to integrate both Mac and Windows OS.
The prebuilt policies and systems grouping features and changing the settings/admin policies and permissions with just a few mouse clicks meant that we could have even new joiners in our company trained quickly on the services needed.
This also meant that if we needed to replace the system for the user we could easily have it shipped out to the user and

Jumpcloud also gives us a way to reconcile our asset and user management system as basically when a system is enrolled in JC the device some details are captured so that gives us a way to verify the asset inventory against. Similarly with users we can maintain control over the rights they have (granted it's not as complex as an actual Wintel based AD service) over the computer at a moments notice.

Coming down to the app itself, the agent is non-intrusive and barely has any impact over the performance of the PC.
However is quick to respond in realtime provided you have an active internet connection to the target devices to apply any changes in policy.

We've been using JC for over a year now and can happily say it has met the criteria we needed the services for and more.
With the recent addition of Apple MDM enrollment and (unconfirmed) possibility of adding windows MDM support as well we're getting more and more out of the service and look forward to a long partnership with them.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned above, although they've recently added MDM based support I feel this should have been a part and parcel of their initial product itself.
The service support being divided into categories especially being tied to per user/month feels like a cheap move to get extra money out of the customers.
The service at its current level is not a replacement to any Wintel/MacOS Server environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly the End-user support has become much easier and so has the policy/process management for our systems.
Enrolling the devices in Apple MDM has made controlling machines for basic tasks a quick job(Restart/shutdown etc).
Installing script based applications has never been easier. just upload the batch/shell script along with any packages needed. set a schedule if needed(updates, periodic restarts etc)
System insights has granted us an extra layer of information which we could not have achieved previously.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the scope of support it offers NOW and the roadmap it has for the future.
It is extremely easy to train people with basic knowledge of AD services to get ready for JumpCloud administration.
The support team is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Their knowledge-base is extensive and multiple webinars/newsletters keep you updated on the upcoming changes or addition of new features.
The MDM based support that has now been implemented definitely puts it in the right path.
Keep a list of tasks and service criteria that you need it to fulfil like endpoint management, user management etc.
Know that it cannot fully control or micromanage the user-specific permission like an org-unit would do in an actual AD environment as it can only either create a user as an admin or sudo or one without it.
Some software integrations may not be supported or may require custom SAML integration so it would be good to know before hand if your required applications(on-prem or cloudbased apps can be integrated with it or if there are any flaws/gaps/additional requirements for the same.

Great Cloud directory with a very good SSO setup

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the SSO setup, the insights are very helpful when it comes to inventorying or troubleshooting. Also, the policies and the commands are quite good. The group section is good as it makes life easier to administer. Radius is a great tool that makes the wifi setup more secure. MDM new feature is great and helps a lot with remote working and setting up devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the command section to push a file to be installed on the system is very limited in size.
New policies are being launched but the progress of this is very slow. Insights is missing a feature of setting up weekly reports that can be forwarded to IT managers that shows certain information that they are after. I really dislike the token expiring of office 365. 3 months is too short. It should be for 1 year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A benefit is that we make sure that all machines have updates pushed, we meet our audit requirements when it comes to security for user accounts. We make our employees life easier with SSO enabled. It works very well on different Operating systems. MFA is a great feature and works really well without any issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, I would and I have already. It's great for startups since it's very quick and easy to setup.

Jumpcloud is a great tool for managing all the users

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like to have one place to manage all the users in my company and don't need to manage that infrastructure
What do you dislike about the product?
We need more documentation about integrations and how to add more services there.
We recently purchased a Sophos gateway and we don't have a manual about how to do that integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Try to have one place with all my users so if someone goes out from the company is easy to restrict and eliminate the access.
We have the benefits to also have all the access, the block of users with wrong access attemps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jumpcloud is a great tool to manage users, we need more documentation and help to add more software and services to it.

A Better Domain Environment for Remote Devices

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to manage all types of devices, whether Mac, Linux or Windows. JumpCloud makes it very easy to select multiple user database authorities, such as O365, and then quickly provision users from those sources to any imported devices. I also find their built-in scripting, and the newest addition of Apple MDM, very helpful in managing devices that are remote. It takes some of the burden off of any RMM tools you may be using and places that work right at your fingertips in JumpCloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
I always have intermittent problems with people forgetting that their user accounts are based in JumpCloud. They go to reset their password in the system dialogue (not JumpCloud), and this breaks the credentials connection between the user directory in JumpCloud and their local device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing a fully remote workforce, and JumpCloud has enabled us to have a central, cloud-based directory service to manage those machines. Instead of outfitting every device with a VPN and joining it to a classical AD domain, we are able to provision and manage these machines over any internet connection. If a user needs their password reset, as long as they are connected to the internet, it's a go. If we want to lock down a system, it just needs an active internet connection and it can be done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are planning to implement JumpCloud, make sure first that the directory(s) you are linking are solid and have correct user information. Since this directory is essentially the backbone of the service, you will run into issues if you don't have a clean environment to begin with. You will also want to consider a service that will play nicely with SSO, such as O365. I have been using O365 with JumpCloud and it works phenomenally.

Active Directory Engineered for the Cloud

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has simplified our entire Identity Management workflow by giving us an environment that can be easily integrated with tons of different apps and services.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike is that the user migration process for getting everyone to JumpCloud is a bit hands on but it's very straight forward. Other than that, there really isn't anything functionally wrong that I've found.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud not only gives us the ability to ditch old AD infrastructure, but it has completely streamlined our onboarding/off boarding for users. With one click, I can disable access to multiple different apps and accounts for a user.

Additionally, systems management for us has become a breeze. Being able to execute commands remotely from a single interface across many different machines is a huge bonus.

Decent product but still needs improvement

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to;
- manage central logins across multiple OS platforms
- choose which accounts you are going to sync, i.e. if you only need to sync 25 or your 50 mailboxes to JumpCloud you can, you do not need to sync your entire email tenant
What do you dislike about the product?
MSP Portal is still lacking.

- SSO needs to be integrated into admin portal
- Better ability to manage user creation and removal of MSP users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to have a cloud directory for mixed Mac/Windows shops and sync their login's to a single login

Overall great product which gives solution to many issues which until today were unsolved

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The All-In-Oneness of the solution and the fact that it's on the cloud.
I couldn't find an MDM to support Linux, Windows, and Mac, and IAM in the same product.
What do you dislike about the product?
That not everything is working properly yet.
Also, there are not enough pre-configured policies for the MDM
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having one working MDM for all OSs, as well as having the option for IAM in the same product.
We manage all employees workstations from one place
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For compliance and security purposes it should be the right tool for you

power jumpcloud admin

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rather than using a cumbersome system like AD, jumpcloud is a very good system. I have been using it continuously for 3 years.
It is a very low cost system and it is very nice to group users quickly. Policies sent to computers work very quickly. Encrypting disks is invaluable. With mfa it has further improved users' security. It is very functional to group users and devices. Also, it makes things easier to pull or send users information through G suite. It opens up users directly to use Microsoft office programs, which has become more functional. With LDAP, you can use it on all platforms. In addition, with SSO, we can define hundreds of applications and manage users more securely. With RADIUS, we can safely control your office and warehouses without giving wifi password.
In general, I have been managing all my systems and users without using active directory for many years. Good thing you have jumpcloud
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be better if the app is a mobile app.
It would be better to upload users' pictures or take them via G suite.
There should be sms sending to users over the phone
users must be able to access their computers remotely
users should support computers by sending messages directly
It must allow users to open support tickets.
needs to be integrated into other human resource applications
All the features of computers need to be further developed in linux and the number of policies needs to be increased
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-biling
-support
-document
-system
-password
-insght
Recommendations to others considering the product:
finds it very useful and its capabilities are amazing it is great to quickly intervene users and manage devices completely fast

If you only picked one cloud based service... make it JumpCloud

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The team at JumpCloud are always pushing their platform to be better. The number of features that are constantly added is amazing.

The easy to use console is brilliant, whether you're a seasoned IT admin or a Junior Desktop engineer.

The team genuinely care about the community they've built up and always listen to feedback. The support team are second to none, often going above and beyond to help their users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nested groups is the only feature missing, groups within groups!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We see many fewer tickets, because there is now only one authentication method for the user to deal with and understand. As long as they’re authenticated then they’re in which means the amount of times they have to log in is greatly reduced as well. One of the reasons we like having JumpCloud in place, is that those clients have a reduced impact on our Service Desk
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Reach out to the team, let them know what you're looking for - talk about your plans for growth and ask about theirs. JumpCloud are honest and open. Join the community online.
