Did an eval and POC on all the available solutions, jumpcloud won.
What do you like best about the product?
Feature rich. We came in only needing a cloud directory service, came out with many solutions that were able to replace and introduce new solutions for the staff
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple features were a bit half baked, but frankly i didnt 'need' those, they were added value to begin with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Google shop that was struggling to tie all services together into a single directory for IAM management, on/offboarding etc.
A good option in the MDM space
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud sales and onboarding process was easy to comprehend. I still use the KB when I am trying to troubleshoot issues
What do you dislike about the product?
The feature set is not what I was looking for. A la carte pricing put it more expensive than more feature rich options
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MDM
Very impressive all in one IT platform for startups
What do you like best about the product?
Endpoint management, SSO, password manager all in one
What do you dislike about the product?
Complex admin, difficult to see whether policies are working correctly or not, no inventory management service (e.g., warehouse to store and ship laptops)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identity and Access Management
Off to a good start
What do you like best about the product?
We have started the implementation of JumpCloud at our org. We started with the password manager and are moving to the whole platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. We have more to implement, but everything has been very smooth thus far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidating the sources needed to manage users throughout our organization with a remote workforce.
JumpCloud: Perfect for my needs
What do you like best about the product?
I find JumpCloud's multi-platform support to be one of its most useful features - it allows me to manage Mac, Linux and Windows devices with ease. The ability to choose an alternative user database to import users from systems such as O365 into my network is also a great time saver. I'm also impressed with the built-in scripting capabilities; this feature alone has reduced the RMM workload within our organisation. Finally, with the recent introduction of the Apple Mobile Device Manager, the benefits are even greater, adding even more value when used in conjunction with other management tools available on the market today!
What do you dislike about the product?
I appreciate that the backup team is open to implementing new improvements, but there are still areas of JumpCloud that need improvement. These include adding the ability to move devices between different groups, better Android compatibility, having built-in rules which would then allow better leverage of responsibilities and privileges on their dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using JumpCloud, I can easily and securely manage authentication for all my on-premises and cloud resources. It simplifies the process of authenticating users across multiple sources by eliminating the manual configuration required with traditional directory services such as Active Directory or LDAP.
A Game-Changer for Security
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use of JumpCloud and all its practical features. Hosting applications in the cloud eliminates the need for costly VPN connections or Active Directory infrastructure, which really helps save money! What stands out most to me is the device management capabilities - it allows us to do things that were previously impossible without Group Policies. Installing programs with Chocolately packages is also a great feature - plus you can choose between pre-packaged bundles or pay-as-you-go models depending on your needs; very cost effective too! Free accounts for up to ten users are also available, so there's no pressure during the trial period.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I find JumpCloud to be quite reliable and works well. However, I feel that there could be improvements in terms of customisation options when it comes to the presentation layer. It would be a great help if tasks, activities and reports related to multiple OS applications were better arranged in folder structures with clear labelling conventions such as prefixes - that way navigation wouldn't require so much digging around for key elements each time!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves the challenge of securely and effectively managing users, computers and applications from a single, centralised platform. This means I can rest assured that my user authentication systems are secure, while I can easily access remote networks on any device at any time.

No cons with the platform right now. It worked perfectly with our system, and we do not intend to switch it to another platform.

Directory services and an administration directory are two of the most benefitting tools we use with JumpCloud. Regulating and adding new users to the system is easy with these two tools.

Applying policies to a device is allowed, but the setting is confusing, and some devices won't follow the procedure.
