Completely replaced our on-site Windows Active Directory

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We were able to create a cost-effective single-sign-on replacement for our Windows Active Directory.
The preset SAML integrations coupled with the custom SAML integration made it really easy to join all of our SAML based technologies together!
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, Jumpcloud has a user authentication cache issue that prevents the user credentials from being cached longer than 1 hour. This means you have to constantly log back in to jumpcloud throughout the day.
Jumpcloud has assured us that this issue is in development and should be fixed soon. But it's almost been a year of the same message.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to eradicate windows active directory from our system.
We can now have single sign-on for our computers, cloud services, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's good, but the user session issue is very frustrating. Once that clears up, this will be a great alternative to Duo, Okta, etc.

JumpCloud saves me a ton of money and resources

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can jump start my AD in a snap and not know much of the complexities involved. It is highly likely that we will be using the service in the long run because of its very hard to beat price to service ratio. But when you have Jump Cloud at your disposal, t feels like you are a large company. Price-wise, it has a very low upfront cost and with very little risk involve for many startup and small-medium business owners.
I also like that integration being implemented across many services and 3rd party plugins. It saves me a lot of programming skills while making sure data is properly channeled. Security-wise, since services are in the cloud I feel secure knowing my data is safe with JC as they employ the best in the business.

Thank you!
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup and install could be better. But once I got hold of the jitters it was pretty easy after all. I used my trial period extensively and I am very, very impressed.
I also didn't like security leaks happening almost everyday - I wish JumpCloud is more transparent in telling us where our data is stored an who is/are their cloud partners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The initial setup was a bit clumsy but once you get the feel of it, it was all easy. The AD part was the best and setting up SSO was a breeze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just jump in to JumpCloud! I think they are the absolutely easiest, low-cost upfront fees, and support is top-notch!

Simple Cloud User Federation

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud makes replacing user directories simple and efficient. Set them up in one place and then enable and share credentials across multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
While JumpCloud has done a good job of solving for some of the more common needs, there is room for growth in the services JumpCloud integrates with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve been completely removing on-prem Active Directory environments without sacrificing the kind of policies and controls businesses expect.

Great way to boost IT capabilities in a multi-platform environment

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about JumpCloud is that it works great with both Mac and PC.
What do you dislike about the product?
The admin page is not mobile friendly at all and I have had to use it from my phone on a couple of occasions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our company we use a fix between the two and historically it was difficult to manage machines. We have had multiple occasions where an employee leaves the company with their computer locked with their credentials and we jump loops to try to reset that machine. Since we got JumpCloud we manage every machine and don't run into such problems. Also, I love the script running ability. I worked from home last week and an employee had an issue with her mac so I could use the script running tool to enable ssh on her machine and install a port forwarding tool which enabled me to access her machine and assist her remotely.

Oustanding Directory as a service!

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that we can add a whole new level of control to our clients that do not have Active Directory or want to eliminate an in house server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downsides we have are lack of AD integration which has now been solved and we would like to have more default policies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance needs of our clients and the ability for us to better support our clients and provide a higher level of security.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please give JumpCloud a try you will not be disappointed.

Keeps SSH keys and logins in sync

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Keep logins and permissions among a small team of engineers in sync across a small fleet of servers can be taxing. JumpCloud makes it incredibly easy. SSH keys and logins are kept in sync so it's painless to SSH into every machine with the same credentials. In addition, the same logins can be authenticated via LDAP-as-a-service for our VPN servers. One less thing to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their free plan is so generous that I'll never reach the limits that would require a paid plan. I wish I could pay them for something. The service is fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Granting access to resources to our developers and engineers was a pain. When an employee left, it was a hassle to find which machines they had access to and remove their accounts. With JumpCloud it's a piece of cake. Click a few checkboxes for the machines they should access -- and remove the account from JumpCloud to remove them from all systems.

Excellent Desktop Client Experience

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has allowed us to utilize directory management, desktop policy enforcement and SSO without the need for Active Directory. This has allowed us to further our security implementation initiatives and streamlined our IT workflows such as new user onboarding and access requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more SSO + provisioning applications available. I would also like to see generic login/Site shortcuts available in the Applications page. It would also be nice if the file transfer command feature was larger than 1MB but this is a minor complaint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to not have to maintain any on-prem servers. Has sped up the development of our security policies within the organization
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand the benefits and limitations. It is a wonderfully simple tool to implement and use but can be a pain when you run into bugs (particularly with the user agent on an end user desktop or laptop).

Great for small and medium sized businesses.

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Central control from anywhere is key for me. I manage a number of small and medium business networks in town as a part of my business. Having to constantly travel to those locations to work with the domain is not always convenient. After the migrating my first client and having a great result, I've looked to move the rest when it was time to upgrade their domain controller server.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point I would like to see tighter integration with Office 365.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User access for computers and SaaS solutions. Allows my clients' employees to have a single place for password management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JumpCloud is a great appropriately priced solution. I recommend it to all my clients.

Great product with excellent support

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Powerful and easy to use with a good list of partner integrations
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints so far, good videos available and I'm used to online training
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our managed services business like central control with security in mind, JumpCloud offers that in spades. I'd highly recommend this solution and use it to manage PC's in a work-group and identity management from a single location.
