Centralized IT Management with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that JumpCloud is constantly iterating to become more of an all-in-one platform, allowing us as admins to have the most access to do our jobs from one central location. Specifically, the ability to control software access using SSO and user groups is great, and having many of our software tools being native SSO integrations makes things smoother. The MDM platform, along with the new asset management feature, tracks necessary information and lets us set device groups with rules that comply with our SOC 2 guidelines. This empowers us to control software and data access effectively through user and device groups. Additionally, the password manager is pretty good, even though it still needs some quality of life upgrades.
What do you dislike about the product?
The password manager isn't better than or even as good as other tools available on the market and is currently the most lacking feature. The initial setup was difficult, particularly with SSO integrations for non-native software tools being time-consuming. There was also a weird glitch where devices seemed to be un-enrolling from the MDM or the agent was going inactive on devices for a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps us securely manage hardware and software access while meeting SOC 2 requirements with features like user device tracking and company policy management. It centralizes control with SSO, user groups, and device groups, improving our administrative efficiency.

It's a true cross-platform tool, working seamlessly on various operating systems, which is crucial for our diverse IT environment.

JumpCloud could enhance its software management features and increase log generation, particularly with a focus on data loss prevention. This would further strengthen its capabilities and make it an even more robust solution for security-conscious organizations.

JumpCloud as an alternative to Azure
What do you like best about the product?
We utilize JumpCloud as an alternative to Azure to run account based profile logins for all of our laptops and desktops in our work environment. The easability and management of this interface is the best. While we still integrate Microsoft accounts into the JumpCloud side we fullly utilize the interface on JumpCloud to push out all policies to windows devices, user accounts and SSO login for functionality to websites. Hands down they are a great alternative instead of going with an AD setup in Azure.
What do you dislike about the product?
This company is relatively new to the Windows environment itself as they mainly were Apple based when it first started. They are slowly rolling out new and great features but with new features come bugs and needed updates to fix those bugs. I would say that has been the most frustrating part when waiting on a fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not run an active directory within our work environment. JumpCloud's solution to allow us to utilize their software to get around this has been helpful and cost effective. Their new and innovative features have also allowed us to push out policies for both devices and user's as well as push out patches via their new patching system. Their remote support feature integrated into the program also allows us to fully remote in and support users without having to install yet another program to do this.
I am generally please, not sure about how deep JumpCloud can go
What do you like best about the product?
It is pretty cheap and helps me for compliance with ISO 27001. Installation was easy, customer service was very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know how I can create custom policies (documentation). Also, don't think JumpCloud policies work well through the warnings I receive. At some points I just cannot resolve the warnings but the results are too cryptic to add on them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance with ISO 27001

Ease of Integration and implementation, User-Friendly Interface, Cross-Platform Support, Comprehensive Documentation and Support
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud works great for unified user and device management, but I’d like to see more granular reporting and faster real-time syncs with directory changes. Those small gaps sometimes make large-scale administration slower, though the product is improving quickly
