Streamlining User Management: A Review of JumpCloud's Cloud Directory Platform

  • March 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is its comprehensive and centralized approach to user management.By offering a single platform for managing user identities, access controls, and devices across different operating systems and cloud environments, JumpCloud streamlines IT administration tasks and helps businesses maintain better control over their digital assets. Additionally, features like Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) contribute to enhanced security and user experience, making JumpCloud a preferred choice for organizations seeking robust identity and access management solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud can have a steep learning curve, particularly for the users who are not familiar with cloud directory services or identity management concepts. Additionally, while JumpCloud offers a comprehensive set of features, I personally find the pricing to be relatively high compared to other solutions, which could be a potential drawback for smaller businesses or startups with limited budgets. Furthermore, like any software platform, JumpCloud may encounter occasional technical issues or downtime, which can disrupt operations and cause frustration for users relying on its services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud is solving MDM problem for us. We are using Jumpcloud to manage of clients devices remotely.

Great product, need a few more features

  • March 01, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Has tons of features. Contains mdm, sso
What do you dislike about the product?
Still missing any form of real asset management tool other than ones that can use an agent to connect into the dashboard. Have additional asset management feature that tracks hardware that's manually created and does not have an agent would be crucial
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single platform that meets more standard needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not all features are utilized if you are looking for an MDM solution instead of a whole solution.

We are looking for a solution to replace google mdm default service.

Easy-To-Use Platform for Identity Management

  • February 27, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud is an intuitive platform for identity management that even less tech-savvy employees can navigate without issue. The platform also integrates with pretty much our entire tech stack, which simplifies our employees' work.
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a bit of sticker shock when it comes to the platform pricing, but the platform is worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifies user provisioning so it's no longer a manual, one-by-one process. Also, helps to bolster our information security program.

Great, East and Intuitive MDM - Just What We Needed

  • February 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. East to use
2. Ready-to-use policies for our enforcments
3. Easy dashboards to make sure everything looks good.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would improve the fact that we need 2 different logins for admin and regular user, instead of just applying the "Admin" Features for admin users (Without the need to login in a seperate way).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Login to endpoints using OKTA users
2. Enforcment of policies (running AV, okta login, screen auto-lock, disk encryption, etc.)
3. Remote installations of updated and such

Feature Rich Suite for Managing Devices and Infrastructure

  • February 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud provides us with a single platform for MDM, SSO, SSH and more. It integrates easily with many third party applications such as Google Workplace, Jira, GitLab, Slack and can perform MDM services for Mac, Windows, and Linux. We moved our SSH key management into JumpCloud which makes access control to server infrastructure a breeze. From the user perspective, most things are transparent so it has been seemless to transition auth to existing systems into JumpCloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only hiccup that we have had so far is with device password syncing, specifically on MacOS. If a user updates their password on the portal (instead of on their device) the user can get stuck where they can't login because the password has not been pushed to the device yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving:
* Managing employee laptops with software, provisioning, security, and monitoring
* Integrating with our software suites for SSO
* SSH key management for infrastructure access

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How versatile it is, letting you create custom scripts to automate daily tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
The feature i like the least is policy management, and how to manage them, this has to improve
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a large amount of devices, and automating repetitive tasks through scripts saving a lot of time

Exceptional Management

  • February 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is simple, easy, and cost-effective. Yes, there are other platforms who are more feature-rich but for effective management of devices, none of them are going to rate higher than JumpCloud for me.

We use it to manage laptops and mobile devices. Setup, enrollment, and management are easily configured. Synchronization with Azure AD and Google Workspace are also simple and extremely easy to set up.

We also absolutely LOVE the MFA on login for laptops, something Intune does not provide
What do you dislike about the product?
The only things I would point toward with JumpCloud for improvement is the reporting structure and configuration options. The reporting structure is a little weak for an enterprise-level solution, but it is there at the bones.

Configuration options for mobile devices are pretty limited right now. To completely configure mobile devices, you still have to set up .mobileconfig files, which can be complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our InTune management is extremely weak when it comes to managing Linux devices. JumpCloud does this super-easy, so we are using it for management of both Macintosh and Linux devices for policy management.
