JumpCloud has been a game changer for our security and remote device management.
What do you like best about the product?
We are a small organization, but it has reduced risk, and provided so many needed tools in one subscription. When we ooked it was hard to find an MDM, Password vault, Sofware maintenance, and remote access tool all in one for MACs, PCs, Phone and Tablets. All in the budget for our growing Non Profit. The Support team is personal and friendly, and is willing to jump on a share to get you through the issues quickly. As a newbie to the MDM world, they have been generous with their time and assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
I need more training and video time to actually use this application to its fullest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool above and beyond the Google MDM solution that also offered MAC devices and Phones. Google also at the moment doen not support as many policies around software updates and pushing software with the same level of inventory control. As a remote Support person and administrator I cna in many cases set my policies and I know they will emain consitent across all out devices.
Cloud Native active directory
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud offers a highly convenient and user-friendly administrative experience. It incorporates the majority of essential components necessary for technical security and regulatory compliance. By eliminating the need to create and manage a traditional Active Directory domain, it significantly simplifies deployment and reduces administrative overhead. The lightweight agent installation delivers comprehensive functionality comparable to that of an on-premises Active Directory. Additionally, JumpCloud supports integration with a wide range of IT solutions, enabling efficient and streamlined access control management on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thus far, the product has aligned well with the organization’s requirements, and no significant issues have been encountered. However, there is room for improvement in the quality and responsiveness of customer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is no need to establish on-premises directory services or hire specialized personnel to manage them. JumpCloud offers a one-time deployment solution that delivers the full range of Active Directory services, while extending compatibility across various operating systems. It enables comprehensive identity and access management, including the enforcement of password policies, through a centralized platform—effectively serving as a single pane of glass for our organizational needs.
Single Pane of Glass
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is in one place, the team actually loves and utilizes feature requests to develop JC into something that people actually want. We actively see the changes we request becoming a reality and it is great. Implementation was very easy and the path to implement is straight forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
chat and phone are not available for standard support, only the ticketing system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it is a one stop shop for user, device, and authentication management. We create users in Jumpcloud and they propagate out to our other applications and their access is automatically configured. greatly simplified on and off boarding.
Easy to roll out and Secure
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud is quick to roll out to all the users in the organization. They are constantly working on new features, which makes the application more inclusive for the IT department. Great customer support and troubleshooting. Integration of features into the organization is quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is super competive but has been increasing quickly. New features should be part of the platform and not add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access for users, security and monitoring for the IT staff.
Robust tool to manage our identities and machines.
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the tool helped us a lot to manage our devices and identities, jumpcloud was compatible with all the scenarios we needed, including compatibility with the OpenID protocol, something standard in the systems we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe it can improve greater compatibility with OpenID, even going with the implicit flow. But, by allowing the authorization code, it already serves us well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing the identities of the systems we have in the company, we are able to centralize everything within the tool, in a simple way and with the expected audit.
Quick to use and forget about
What do you like best about the product?
The software is quite powerful when needed, but it certainly for my businesses use case, it was super easy to get the basics set up and forget about it. It runs and does its thing, and I dont have to worry about it, except on the occasion that we have an iussue with an employees computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Theres nothing to really dislike. I have not run into any types of issues that would show up as negative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a very small startup, we just want to have some basic remote administrative control. Locking computers when an employee leaves, seeing recent login activity, this sort of thing. And for that JumpCloud does exactly what we need. As we grow and require more complex or intricate features, we will be able to sc ale easily into that.
Simple, clear and secure system for MDM
What do you like best about the product?
Easy device management for a lot of devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no Ukrainian language. Need more localisation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some employees may take devices home with them, so this software reduces the risk of losing access to the device.
Jumpcloud Review
What do you like best about the product?
Able to manange muultiple devices from one location and macbook 2fa.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are products I don't need such as a password manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enables 2fa on all Macbooks. We are complaint with insurance and Government contracts.
Great product with tons of functionality. A lot more powerful and comprehensive than at first glance
What do you like best about the product?
One of the most used features I work with is the ability to import users through a CSV. I have created a script that allows me to input names and a csv is created with all the fields I need for that user, or even multiple users. Makes it super quick and useful for batch onboarding. I plan to implement usage of the API so I can assign work groups, devices, and directories along with the users. I also use the remote command running feature just about everyday, so useful for needing to install remote tools, or get system info. Super easy to integrate with other services, microsoft, webex, etc. Documention is sufficient enough. If I couldn't find the answer there, the communitor forums are a great resource and customer support
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI flow could use some work. It can be a bit annoying when you need to make a change saved, but then the window for that device/ user/ etc. just disappears and you have to search for it again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identity management, azure integration
The only solution for device management
What do you like best about the product?
I love the Device Management system. I can execute commands remotely on windows devices. I particularly love the deployment of applications using the chocolatey framework. This means users can request to have certain applications on their devices and I can deploy them remotely without having local access to the devices. Especially as only domain administrators can install applications locally and these users don't have such privileges.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the logging should be enriched more than it is at the moment, and it should have an integration with security solutions to help with log aggregation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a central identity management provider for some of our workloads like Jenkins, and we integrated with jumpcloud so only users in a specific jumpcloud user group can authenticate to our Jenkins server. Jenkins primarily doesn't have MFA, so using jumpcloud helps with that additional layer of security as every authentication to Jenkins through jumpcloud will require jumpcloud MFA.
