Solid tool that does many things

  • February 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's really nice to have all information on users and devices in one place rather than scattered between several platforms. Specifically, we leverage JumpCloud to manage user access to our org, app access, device access, patch management, and for screensharing. If you're looking to reduce spend or have a team that's less familiar with
What do you dislike about the product?
While JumpCloud can do a myriad of things well, it's not particularly great at any one thing. That's not to say that it's bad at anything so much as there's a few limitations. Many of the most common platforms in the industry don't have supported integrations for managing users with JumpCloud. Also, some functions on the MDM side are a tad inconsistent. Specifically, we've had trouble with the screenshare or device locking working consistently for all devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is our one stop shop for managing user and device access. It's benefitting us by allowing us to operate as a remote-first company without physical access to users or devices.

Really good IdP and Device Manager

  • February 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best IdPs are really best, but you probably won't need 50% of their features. JumpCloud is a basic plus IdP, that will give you 80%+ percent of what you really need. Adding the Device Manager on top of it, adds much more to it, starting from log-in to your devices using the same credentials, which helps the end-users choose a really strong password, but remember only this one.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI takes time to learn; the cost of almost the same as the more reobust IdPs (but you also get the Device Manager, as mentioned); some of the features feel less mature but still work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IdP + Device Manager, focusing on the integration + allows to fine-tune the password policy, which Google Workspace, for instance, lacks!

An Excellent Choice for MDM!

What do you like best about the product?
One thing that stands out when working with JumpCloud (JC) was the amazing customer service and constant help to implement and integrate JC into our organization. Cruz, Joe, and the team have been a pleasure to work with on this project. They have also done a great job of explaining the numerous features JC offers and how easy it is to use those features once implemented.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't seen any huge drawbacks, but it would be nice to have more granularity around user access. (Main thing that springs to mind is allowing the Microsoft store to be opened and limit what apps can be downloaded instead of the current solution of just blocking the MS store altogether.) That being said, when I mentioned this, Cruz immediately let me know that he'll share that info with the product team and try and get some movement there. It let me know that with how frequent the use of JumpCloud will be in our org, we'll have someone that is listending to what we need/want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is letting us go from 3-4 management softwares for 1. I can't begin to describe how helpful that will be!

Moved from Miradore for my iOS devices... been very happy.

What do you like best about the product?
Having previously used a couple of other MDM solutions for my small business, I found JumpCloud to be the easiest to set up with Apple Business. Honestly, the whole Apple device enrollment process is a bit convoluted, so it was very welcome that the JumpCloud side of things was simple. I think of it as basically set it and forget it... I am not constantly needing to tweak things, they work the first time and stay done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not an expert user, so it is still a big learning curve to become effective in the MDM space. I did find that some of the policies I had in Miradore did not exist in JumpCloud (or at least I could not find them). Being a small business, the cost once you move beyond the free edition can add up quickly. I would love a larger free tier (of course) or a cheaper small business tier for companies with 50 or fewer devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I really needed my devices locked down so that my staff are unable to load apps and use them in inappropriate ways.

What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using JumpCloud has help me a lot with to make sure that we can help our users access to the tools they need

I love the unifed system that provides to keep security tight but at the same time the easy way for anyone TI or not TI people to use it
What do you dislike about the product?
Only i would say i would improve a little UI in admin console
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing which user have or not access to specific services from the company and also helping with having a dashboard for a login for all users

Easy to use - responsive support

  • February 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the ability to set RBAC and the ease of use of setting up SSO. Every time I have logged a support case it has been dealt with so quickly
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of. The new features are going to be well receieved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RBAC - helps to prevent access when people leave
AD - allows us to maitain those users
MDM - ensures that lost equipment cannot be used to gain access. And means we can apply policies
