Consolidated IT stack while simplifying management

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Set up and implementation is intuitive and well documented. Their customer support has been top notch so far. We've been able to consolidate three different products into one with JumpCloud which helps with configuration updates and overall management.
What do you dislike about the product?
MacOS MDM is sufficient but not as comprehensive as Jamf.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were previously relying on three different platforms for cloud directory, IAM and MDM. JumpCloud has allowed us to accomplish the same (or better) management under a single platform which frees up time for IT to work on more important projects.

My thoughts on JumpCloud

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspect of JumpCloud lies in its ability to seamlessly unify directory services, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication, streamlining identity and access management for businesses. This not only simplifies user access but also enhances security, reducing the risk of unauthorized entry. Device management capabilities ensure the comprehensive control and security of various device types. The platform's API integration, user-friendly interface, and scalability further contribute to its utility, while its cloud-based nature and cost-effective pricing plans make it a flexible and accessible choice for organizations of varying sizes. JumpCloud's comprehensive suite of features and benefits offers an all-encompassing solution to meet the complex IT infrastructure and security needs of modern businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside of JumpCloud lies in the potential learning curve for new users and the complexity of integrating the platform with existing systems, which can be challenging for organizations with unique or heavily customized IT environments. Additionally, JumpCloud's reliance on a stable internet connection may pose issues in cases of internet downtime, potentially affecting access and management capabilities. For smaller organizations with minimal IT needs, the cost may be less competitive compared to simpler solutions. However, these downsides should be weighed against the platform's numerous advantages, including streamlined identity and access management, enhanced security, and scalability, making it a versatile option for businesses seeking comprehensive IT solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identity and access management (IAM) offers several crucial benefits for individuals and organizations. It enhances security by ensuring that only authorized users can access specific resources, thereby reducing the risk of data breaches and unauthorized activities. IAM streamlines user access, making it more convenient for individuals, as they can use a single set of credentials (single sign-on) to access multiple applications and services. It also simplifies password management, reducing the burden of password resets and enhancing the user experience. IAM solutions often provide features like multi-factor authentication, which adds an extra layer of security. Overall, IAM empowers individuals by ensuring their access is secure and convenient, while organizations benefit from improved data protection, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency.

Easy to Integrate

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about jumpcloud is how much detailed the documentation is and how much that makes the integration easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only con about Jumpcloud is lack of customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password Management: With JumpCloud, we no longer have to remember all our passwords. It provides a secure and convenient single sign-on (SSO) solution, enabling us to access various applications and services with just one set of credentials. This eliminates the need to keep track of multiple passwords, reducing the risk of security breaches due to weak or reused passwords.

User Management: Managing user access and permissions has become much more straightforward. JumpCloud allows us to centrally manage and control user accounts, access levels, and group memberships, making it easier to grant or revoke access as needed. This simplifies the onboarding and offboarding processes, enhancing our security and productivity.

Cost-Efficient IAM with Device Management, Needs Uptime Improvement

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that JumpCloud is a cost-efficient alternative to a pure IAM solution as it provides device management along with IAM capabilities. The initial setup was frictionless, and we managed to bring in a lot of automations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recent outages in the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud for identity and access management, device management, joiner mover leaver processes, and cybersecurity tasks like patch policies and device hardening.

Core features function smoothly, yet remote assist lacks reliability. The pricing is somewhat steep.

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like multitude of features consolidated into one platform. The user interface surpasses that of other tools, and the support is consistently excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud's cost may be higher when compared to alternative options. Additionally, the reliability of its remote assist feature is at a mere 50%, making it an unreliable solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The management of all users and devices is seamlessly organized in one comprehensive central portal. This includes a range of advanced security features such as Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication and conditional access.

Easy to use and quick to learn + deploy

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple to set up, both on the backend and also on devices.
Easy and quick to define policies using the pre-set options, and support for doing policies and scripts the manual way.
Useful as an IAM solution with many partially pre-filled SSO app templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more deeper information (System Insights) is only available via the JumpCloud API/Powershell tools, not through the web portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MDM - Main purpose so we can ensure our fleet of devices will be secure and up-to-date with update policies and can enforce updates in case of high risk vulnerabilities in OS or applications.
IAM - As an IdP and SSO tool
