Domino The way to Go
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Domino since the very beginning and have stayed with them since the early days of Lotus Domino. We love the integration of email, Sametime and application in one client.
What do you dislike about the product?
For a short time, Domino was on hold and further development of the software was frozen. After IBM sold the product to HCL, the decision was made to start further improvement and development of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Domino for some of our clients who have been using Domino for a long time. They really appreciate the client and also the options to develop application within the software to help their organizations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Domino is an all-in-one product which is a good fit for clients who do not like Office 365 or G-suite. It will take some time to get adjusted to but it a very solid product.
Domino is great
What do you like best about the product?
Business continuity for at least 25 years
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing, no marketing for this excellent product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
secure mailing, archiving
Recommendations to others considering the product:
no problems migrating the server-hardware, ease of administration, security
HCL re-energizes Domino
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is that Domino is a stable, secure platform that proved its robustness already for more than 30 years. The fact that customers are re-evaluating their Domino infra since they know that HCL took it in hands and is investing a lot to put new features, proves again its robustness.
There is no other platform that allows an upgrade or migration as easy as you can do this with Domino. If you need a server that can serve all internet protocols, then you need to consider to use Domino. And did you know already that you can integrate it with whatever technology ?

What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to find a topic around Domino that I dislike, especially now that HCL invested a lot in making sure that this technology is future proof.
The only thing I dislike about Domino is that marketing awareness is not as good as it should be for the moment. Hopefully this will change soon.
The only thing I dislike about Domino is that marketing awareness is not as good as it should be for the moment. Hopefully this will change soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Besides using Domino as your mail server, you can also use it as an application development platform. There is still a myth flowing around that customer development is a large investment, reconsider using Domino for your custom development and you will see that costs will decrease dramatically.
HCL DOMINO or LOTUS NOTES
What do you like best about the product?
The good part of the application is the database connections. How they are integrated with your email client. It does the common part of a email client which is good. Also i like the offline feature of the email.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have used the tool when it was still called LOTUS NOTES. Back then the tool was slow, had a lot of issues like problems in launching. And connectivity was a major concern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used it as a email client. Connwcting to variois databases which made us help gather and access the data quickly. The vast range of connectivity provided was admirable.
Excellent and secure product
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things is easy to use, the final users love it, they came from different platform at the end love domino, they love the apps developed in domino and the workflows integrated in the same platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a IT, we need more training courses and security services to help us to improve the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since many years ago, BioPappel has used Domino in internal applications and workflows; it allows us to reduce the paperwork, to track authorizations and documents, reducing the time used on this and keeping the information in just one place for everyone.
Old Software but still on the top
What do you like best about the product?
reliability, security and performance but mainly, the overall experience
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting side has to improve (has been like this since the begining)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
just to create web sites
HCL Domino Review
What do you like best about the product?
We used HCL Domino specifically to secure our emails. I worked at a financial firm, and we needed something that would 100% guarantee that our emails to our clients were secured.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is so much more to HCL Domino than what we used it for. I think my company could have used it better!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping secure our client emails. Making sure their information was private.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes! Again, I think there is so much more use to HCL Domino than what we used it for, but if you need to secure your emails, this is great option for your company!
Good experience with using forms for partnerships
What do you like best about the product?
I liked that I was able to easily upload my spreadsheet of company partners to the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not as friendly as some of the other common competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the issue of easily being able to manage and receive partnership requests and now am able to respond more quickly.
Innovative and user-friendly
What do you like best about the product?
HCL Domino is one of the best products that I have used in terms of workflow applications. Innovative and user-friendly, I find that HCL Domino is able to make the flow of tasks easier to manage, streamlining communications.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are frequent updates to HCL Domino, which can cause some interference in your workday, assuming you download and operate all the recommended updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow operations have become much easier to manage, with coding that is easy for almost anyone to use. Productivity has increased and I find daily output to be improved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend keeping in mind that HCL Domino does require frequent updates. Additionally, although productivity has generally increased, you may find that users have questions about general usability of the product.
