Easy server maintenance.
What do you like best about the product?
Even a self-taught person like me can manage servers and maintain clients, and can reduce SE costs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once you understand the convenience, you will be stuck.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the benefits of low code development, even small and medium enterprises like ours can develop and utilize our own applications.

With a little learning, you can create an application. It will surely be useful as an agile development tool.

Easy to understand Application development, Hosting Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to understand, Stable, Single platform for hosting (www), Email (smtp) application development for workflow, office communication and collaboration. For a long time world best enterprise groupware application system.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to stick to the rules. Domino Server rules can be Inflexible sometimes. You need to fully understand how it works, the absence of which you are guaranteed chaos. My best example is removing users and the effects of Adminp. If for example there is a problem with a user and you try to solve the problem by deleting the user and recreating the user, in the first few hours everything will look okay. When Adminp kicks in to rerun the delete for the user, that user is deleted. you can imagine the displeasure mixed with confusion this can cause if the rule is not clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We hosting Emails on domino, We are hosting applications ( internal Application ) on domino. We are also hosting several websites on domino. all these in a highly available manner using inbuilt replication capability of the Domino server.

Get Training, Get full understanding. This is such a good application when you know the rules and you keep to the rules

What do you like best about the product?
With this we can build more apps more faster and with zero effort and performance is faster when compared to other . We can run existing applications on both android and iphone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislikes in the sense i did not find much dislikes where as the performance is improved now when it is compared to the older versions

I can build apps with faster and improved performance now.

Only the IBM missed a big chance over the last almost 10 y to improve the platform. They did not invest a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domino is an application server - for small, medium and large sized business and non-business critical apps
It can be accessed via Notes client
But also via browser and mobile phones and tablets

What do you like best about the product?
Domino is and has always been the fastest rapid development platform enabling IT teams to respond to application/process requirements within hours or days compared to other tech platforms that would require weeks or months til delivery.
Another important plus for Domino is it’s scalability when it comes to running multiple functions such as email, apps and chat and more on a single server where other vendors would need several servers thus the cost of operations of Domino is outstandingly attractive.

What do you dislike about the product?
It’s difficult to name real downsides running the Domino platform. It‘s an application and collaboration and messaging platform and the appearance/UI of apps strongly depends on the developers. Just writing that since the „old school“ UI has in some cases been a point of criticism. But honestly, it’s not the platform, it’s the capability and feeling for good design of the respective development team that makes apps work well and look modern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every business case from CRM, document management, knowledge management, team collaboration, messaging and and and. There is no limit when the dev team is good.

If you are looking for a cost efficient high quality, scalable and flexible server system that does mail, messaging, apps and is extremely secure, your first choice should be Domino.

Domino is an all-in-one platform that supports all internet protocols, except FTP. It has his own built-in security and high availability mechanism. It allows for Rapid Application Development and on top of that you can use email. Domino....What Else ?
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to look for something that I dislike because of all the advantages that you have with Domino. If there is something to talk about it, then it is the fact that is has been neglected for a long time and that people thought the product was dead....
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We build solutions for our customers, solutions like warehouse management, work planning, visitor portal, document management......whatever the customer needs.
The benefit is that you can develop solutions for a low budget and you can start with the basics and continue developping the solution based on the feedback you receive.

Maybe you thought that Domino was reaching its dead end but what I saw with the evolution of the last year and the upcoming roadmap, is very promising !

What do you like best about the product?
Very good RAD environment and Security to the top Level
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like a better tool for managing and constructing views. When you have databases with 300 views you lose too much time during maintenance to get into each one to understand how the selection formula is made, it would take a visualization that allows you to immediately see how the formula is made.
Another missing feature is an integrated reporting tool.
Last but not least, the possibility of managing at least one inner join.

What do you like best about the product?
It just works. For over 10 years Domino has reliably driven clickbook.net , our website that provides appointment scheduling services to our customers. We have had zero (none!) outages due to Domino.

IBM's failure at marketing. This has no direct impact on the performance and profitability of our business. In fact, there is some satisfaction knowing the competition is working much harder to accomplish the same thing we are doing with so little effort. But the more widely used, the more IBM can invest in the development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our entire business is based on our Domino website that provides an appointment scheduling service for anyone from hair stylists to Embassies.

Don't fall for propaganda. This single product is rock solid and it takes a suite of software to equate it.
