Still a solid product, but hopefully a full-pledged cloud based offering would be available
What do you like best about the product?
The level of control you can have in the Domino ecosystem is fantastic. Security is also good.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much information on server crashes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Supporting new technologies. The Domino Dev Pack is definitely a game-changer. Support for NodeJS is beneficial.

Even after 32 years there is still no product within the marketplace to rival Notes/Domino
What do you like best about the product?
Encryption, management, storage and replication of unstructured data, sat behind a cross platform workflow engine, enabled by an industrial strength email platform
What do you dislike about the product?
Slicker Document Editing and Saving integration, where a database could be seen as a folder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage my entire business using Domino. I can share data with ease and work productively off-line.

What do you like best about the product?
The Domino platform is able to run application for years (actually decades) untouched and with almost no maintenance. Having a RAD (rapid application development) tool that can scale to tens/hundreds of thousands of users and still keep requirements low is a winner. The TCO gets lower and lower the more applications you build on the platform and applications are naturally communicating over a unique and integrated information access mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
Domino is great for keeping applications running forever, for this reason many customers and partners have not invested in refresh-cycles or UI evolution. Many claim Domino applications are ugly.. that's not correct. Domino application are as beautiful as you build it. Often apps built in year 2000+ are around, working like a charm but showing their age. People often "dream" that starting over with the app will save their time & effort. This is a completely wrong assessment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With domino we have built and continue to build integrated knowledge and workflow applications. Our Email system, CRM, Project management systems and Document archives are on Domino. Using domino extensibility we have integrated for customers all kind of external systems ranging from SAP to Salesforce to ad-hoc internal apps or even banking systems. The multi-faceted app-dev modes of domino (Notes Client, Nomad Web/iOS/Android, Web application and rest services) offers us a vertically integrated app-dev stack that includes Identity management (both inside the company and for third parties), Data services (NSF storage, multi-master replication and server-client replication with offline applications capabilities), Interactive (Client & Web) user experiences and batch services (trigger based, time based Agent manager).
Fast and reliable Plattform
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of a Domino Server to get it running. Once a Domino Server is up and running, it will not take a lot of work to keep it maintained.
Of course, a Domino Server has a lot of settings that can be modified to fit any business requirement.
Since HCL has taken over, many new features and bugs have been fixed. Major releases are coming out yearly, which shows Domino is not dead.
Domino makes it easy to manage several hundred users without the need of having to run a vast server platform.

The software has flaws and will take a while to get ironed out.
Once HCL has taken over the errors and new features have been implemented, the software is getting a better reputation.

Of course, HCL has taken over, but a lot of companies, at least german companies, are moving away from Domino, considering it an old and dead software... Other software out there looks more modern, has more features, and has a better reputation than Domino.
It seems to me that there is not enough marketing to make Domino more popular again and maybe convince companies to stay with Domino instead of moving away.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So since we have over roughly 500 users currently logged into the Domino Server, it is easy to manage all the applications we develop in-house. We can program our databases and have the workforce support all of them by ourselves. If a database needs new features, we can program these features ourselves and don't have to rely on the standardized shelf software. This makes it very easy for us to develop new required software rather than buy it, hoping and depending on the software to meet our needs.
We have a fairly significant development and administration team, making managing all of Domino's needs reasonably easy.
Domino is very cost-effective programming and Mail Service Plattform.
Not many providers out there make it easy for us to manage and run all of our services and servers on Prem; most require the servers to be ordered in the cloud.

SUPERB EMAIL PLUS APPLICATION SOLUTION
What do you like best about the product?
It provide email services as well as the office automation applications can also be developed and connectivity with SAP.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formating style of email and look n feel is bit old not fancy

Office applications are developed in house bybour team saving a huge amount of third party developing tool.
Powerful tool for workflow based application
What do you like best about the product?
It is an integrated solution with email and applications. Designer is one of the key areas in the suite for developing workflow based applications apart from the collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface needs to be upgraded and attractive for designer applications.

Very Liable and Friendly software and HCL Support Team is very co-operative

It automatically recovers from crashes and for the past 20 years we never lost any data.

Some of the features available in the other softwares are not available in this .

Some features available in Exchange to be updated in Lotus Notes also

The Notes applications are very helpful and very easy to develop.

There are some limitations to Notes development.
1. Unable to hide table column – only row is hid able.
2.Unable to categorize multiple fields within the same form as a separate sub category.
3.Unable to ‘Auto Suggest’ lists from views in Dialog list.
